Ooh, a community mod (including that magic R word), learning resources and Discord... I think I'll start on Switch but will keep this in mind for the long term. Thanks for the great work and I hope the subtitles get a lot of use too. I've actually seen an option for YT videos and channels to be displayed with alternative titles which can account for the viewer's language settings so that may be worth considering at some point though it is funky with search engines which default to one name IIRC.
@@thelastgogeta do not, I had the same mentality but I tried the old melty and it is amazing, its also free. Try it, the file on the site contains everything you need to play it and a guide.
@@devilmaycrysarockingdontcome Cool. I have a gig or so to spare and will follow the guidance tomorrow. I'm not against community efforts especially with abandonware, but I like being able to detach myself from my laptop for games if at all possible.
So, if I'm understanding this correctly. The technique seems to function as sort of the reverse of fuzzy guard. The fuzzy guard has a crouching state while a standing hitbox, but this technique looks to have a crouching hitbox when standing. I suspect that it might be because the system buffers a forward movement when you hold 3, and executes it on the first available frame when you swap to 6. It then applies the movement at the exact same time as the hitbox change. Of course, that's just me spitballing. I'd have to actually look at the code to be sure.
I love fighting games Everything about them is IRL anime We got Akuma debuting as a hidden character so powerful he had to be banned, to secret forgotten techniques that are unbelievably powerful
It’s really cool that these guys managed to get so much use from such a simple technique without anyone figuring out just what was happening. Though I guess it would be pretty hard to figure out precisely what happened there if you didn’t look at the footage frame by frame. Anyway, great video.
Being a big fan of the Melty Blood franchise anyways, this kind of video makes me want to see some kind of Melty Blood documentary in the same editing style and writing style. Feel like it would be interesting to watch
What a classic fighting game story. The timing on the music and editing aswell as the great script made this an absolute joy to watch. Great video man.
Such a great vid! Funny enough the input is pretty much the same as Musou Tensei (from HnK, where you move behind the opponent). Keep it up and Melty forever
So basically whats happening is he isnt going into the block animation, then the forward input just moves him under the airdash. Its kind of a weird fuzzy... very very cool.
Haven't really seen stuff like this for fighting games, but I'm so happy stuff like this now exists Documentaries on hyper niche stuff are like my favorite genre of youtube videos
I like the "in Japan" for the description of SBO. Dude, the Tougeki was the most prestigious fighting game tournament in the *world.* Even when EVO existed.
Man this was amazing video! I definitely feel like there aren’t enough great videos out there on melty blood, especially since there’s a new version of it on the horizon.
Bro had the “who’s that Pokémon” sprite darken thing on shin’s character reveal 😂😂 this is absolute GOLD amazing video UA-cam recommend this to all anime fans please!!!
I’m obsessed with this video. I haven’t been this hype about anything in so long I couldn’t contain myself when they met each other in tournament. I really hope this is a true story because wow. Just wow.
Looking forward to playing this. One thing I feel the community needs to update immediately after this game releases is the addition of "character specific discords" on the MB server, which helps you learn matchups and combos with the character of your choice. "BlazBlue Central Fiction" has this, but the MB Type Lumina discord doesn't have this yet. Hopefully this gets fixed soon because as it stands it's going to be to be REALLY hard to find information on the character of your choiceif everything is located in one spot of the server, instead of being separated accordingly.
Damn this vid is actually so cool, as the second worst melty player in my circle, hearing this story is so unreal, Fighting Games really do give so much to the players
Dude this is the best anime showdown of all time. The glow on the sprites with the music and the characters on each side about to face off after all the history the two players had together?! Bro this might be a better match than Goku and Vegeta
I've been using this for quite a while in other anime games and now melty blood now that I've been playing it recently, but took for granted how much of an innovation it was when first implemented at a high level. Great video, thank you!
Love videos like this that provide a narrative for what is ultimately dudes mashing buttons at each other. The production value is a big plus too. Thanks!
One could say the same for the name "MasterChibi". Many of the players mentioned in the documentary watched the video and said on twitter they'll be coming back for Type Lumina. I hope you'll be coming back as well, now that rollback netcode has been confirmed. 🙂
For a solid 3 minutes, I had all my money that this was gonna be a "TOP PLAYERS DISCOVER BLOCKING" meme. Love the story anyway.
The west: japan shares tech with each other, that's why they're so strong
Japan: man hides tech for 15 years
LOL
I hope you realise this is the opposite of how it used to be, in general.
Like I always say:
Fighting games turn real life into an anime.
I love that a top player has the name “Lucky Star”
And they play the edgiest character, too, hahaha.
They play a badass character, but also a meme cat LOL
Nobody ever picked a name knowing one day they would be top player and acknowledged for that and when the things get up to this point its too late to change names.
Thank you for producing such an amazing video!
Even the ever-present SHIN is pleased! He is invisible because he is invisible, but maybe.
hoping to see you and shin playing the new melty blood type lumina

sorry kiddo... nothin personnel
Really love this kind of mini documentary style video of fighting game tourney stories, it's like the Tales of the FGC or something
Great video dude. I really liked how you used the sprites to help show the narrative better.
なんという良質なドキュメンタリー。面白かったです!
Can we have the story of the seven gods?
Man, the combination of sprite usage, music, narration and editing really makes this feel like an anime flashback episode. Great stuff

The true forbidden technique is called "the flush." It involves giving the opponent a swirly and not washing your hands.
This channel is a hidden gem. I didn't expect this type of quality. Kudos

iiii really did not expect saga frontier 2 music in the background of this vid, also that paint scene was incredibly well done, gj on editing that!

Dude, the Tougeki was the most prestigious fighting game tournament in the *world.* Even when EVO existed.
Man, this was amazing, even as someone who just recently got into fighting games.
The edit at 10:40 was fucking sick. Also I'm down for more videos going over tournament runs. This was cool
This video is insane! I'm so happy to be able to join this community that already existed for so long. Great video. Keep it up!
