The old mook Entebrains from Slash to AC+R classified the hit objective of characters like this:
Balanced/Standard(commonly had projectile, anti air and rush specials shoto style niche): Sol, Ky, Anji, Axl ,Dizzy ,Bridget
Speed(rushdowns and good blockstrings): Millia, Jam, Chipp, Dizzy(since AC) ,Order Sol
Power(big hits for big damage): Potemkin, Baiken, May, Johnny, Slayer, I-no, Robo Ky ,A.B.A.
Tricks(characters with orthodox subsystems): Eddie, Bridget, Baiken, Faust, Venom, Testament, Zappa, I-no(since AC)
Kliff can be balanced with power and justice power and tricks

Another reason that for example I like looking at character archetypes, is either when switching from one game to other, I want to play characters of similar strengths and weaknesses that allows similar playstyle to what I enjoy in another game. Or when I already play a game but am feeling like playing some other character, I will tend to enjoy more or prefer someone similar to the character I am currently playing and archetype is one of the easiest ways to try to figure this out, even though ever since I picked up +R and started just in general looking more into fighting games the past year, I am realizing that this is both complicated, and also archetypes matter way less than just how the characters feel or play.

Great video! Only nitpick is about Faust's weak downwards attacks: isn't j.2k drill cancel a super strong mixup as well as a great downward angle attack? I feel like that's a bit overlooked here.
It's not much of a jump-in. Faust has slow air mobility and can't really enforce jump-ins on the opponent the way other characters do. He was given other moves like the paper bag but it's not very aggressive. The drill functions more like an evasive ground move and you can't do it from too high.

The specific numbers are a bit sus, since there's a large difference between 7 and 10; one is a +0 modifier the other is a -2...They're both pretty meh at that thing, though.

Interesting stuff. For +R, is there a list anywhere that shows what category each character falls under?
TL;DR: there are 4 types of characters: long range, medium range, short range and Zato=One
I would classify Zato as a weak long/medium range character without Eddie out, and a strong medium/close range character when Eddie is out. With no Eddie gauge you’re either flying around the screen stalling for Eddie, or hoping they run into a random drill so you can stall them even more effectively with a blockstring that wastes time till Eddie is online. When Eddie is out, his pokes are way better at space control due to being backed up by Eddie -S-, and allow you to start the terrifying Eddie pressure closer up
