What?! Bob Dylan WROTE it?! I'm 47 y.o. and time and time again Bob Dylan shows himself as being the total man when it comes to songwriting. I always really liked this song but if Bob wrote it then I like it even more. The man is a living legend.
@@TracyAdams-ry2fc Yeah, I've heard that one too as a kid and liked it. I'm 47 and sappy love song haven't done jack shit for me in something like 20 years, but some of them like a lot. Why Worry by Dire Straits is an all-time favourite of mine. So is Time After Time by Cyndi Lauper. I usually find mushy songs annoying but those ones are very moving. As for this song, I'm not sure it's a mushy love song about a chick. It could very well have been about Bob's fondness for creative expression, for example. Or it could be about a spiritual worldview? Or both and how they relate to each other? I don't know.
I’ve never heard George Harrison sing this song. Indisputable proof that I’ve been living under a rock forever! Love this wonderful man and his magic music.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@@crazyantny9161 I prefer George’s vocals on this Dylan classic and slide guitar works somehow. It’s a hit! Dylan wrote a lot of songs that became hits by other bands covering them and singers. This song and Hendrix covering All along the Watchtower are the best examples!
George was a damn good friend to have and I only wish I was able to have been one. I can claim to be a devoted fan for my entire life after seeing him on The Ed Sullivan Show In 1964. I love you George.
George Harrison was always my favourite beatle since around 1966, he made some real good songs in his lifetime and they will live on forever as will my memories of him and the rest of the band ❤👍RIP Boss
Brilliant, absolutely fab.........💯💯💯 Sounds like its done during the All things must must pass sessions.........Billy Preston and Bobby Whitlock and The horn players from those sessions, properly Jin Gordon on drums.......... AWESOME.......👌👌👌👌
Can't pick a favorite, all the Beatles were different but exceptional in their own way. That mix gave us the sound we heard and their songs changed music forever. Dylan is an exceptional talent, a savant of musical literature, unparalleled in our time. But here's a curve ball, thank you google play lists for recreating the best of the best music memories. If AI is truly developing a sentient state it's going to be immersed in the sixties and seventies, just like we all are.😊😊😊😊
Bob Dylan wrote “If Not For You” in 1970 - George sings it perfectly with Dylan on guitar & harmonica. It’s a tribute to the respect Dylan had for George!

Seeing George support his friend who wrote this song, while he sings it, for some reason makes me cry. The strength, the lack of ego. Bob was not so sure of himself that day. Bob: even his simpler songs have heart and soul, and melodies that stick. George: knew how to be a friend. Great vocal.
George Harrison, what can I say only that he is Truely missed as a person that was good when walking on this earth now he may be walking upon the clouds. Wonderful song. His songs will never die... Biggest fan
I love The Beatles without George Harrison, there are no Beatles!!! I've collected all of his records. His message then is what the World needs today, Amen 🙏 Thank God for George Harrison
Love George my second favourite Beatle after John but this track is certainly up there with the best of them. Written by Dylan but George has made it his own and one I play often. Great La!!!
Although far beyond my ability its a quite simple arrangement but executed so so well by special people well done I’m 74 going on 75 not to old but also not to well just now thank you 🙏especially UA-cam Mike Sol’s
I miss George too. What a lyrical, instinctive, creative soul! Plus -- he even had the good sense to have a vacation pad in Maui near Hana. Bless his memory! * Cav *
You see 2/5 of the Travelin' Wilburys coming together here. LOVE IT!! The song must be quite new for George, as he is reading the music or lyrics or both.
If not for you Babe, I couldn't even find the door I couldn't even see the floor I'd be sad and blue, if not for you If not for you Babe, the night would see me wide awake The day would surely have to break It would not be new, if not for you If not for you, my sky would fall Rain would gather, too Without your love I'd be nowhere at all I'd be lost, if not for you If not for you The winter would hold no spring Couldn't hear a robin sing I just wouldn't have a clue, if not for you If not for you, my sky would fall Rain would gather, too Without your love I'd be nowhere at all I'd be lost, if not for you If not for you The winter would hold no spring Couldn't hear a robin sing I just wouldn't have a clue, if not for you If not for you
As a kid, like most,,Paul was my favorite beatle..They were a few years before my time. I was born in 68,,,but still very much popular when I got older,,.after they separated, HANDS down, George trounced all of them,,,and that's saying something...funny thing, the Band didn't realize what they had with George..
What's with the multiple punctuation marks and why do you say "the band didn't realise what they had with George" ? Bit of a sweeping statement and a pretty silly one in most people's opinions I would imagine!
@@Jo-we9ht Paul and John didn't want George's songs on the Beatles albums. George said he had to push and push just to get one song included because John and Paul would say it wasn't good enough or it wasn't what the album needed, etc. So, yes, John and Paul did not know the extent of George's songwriting talent. George said sometimes he would say he had written a new song and John and Paul didn't even want to hear it. Luckily, George kept at his songwriting and after the Beatles broke up, he had more than enough for his first solo album "All Things Must Pass".
amazingly its hard to say. Ringo the least, but in fact the guy was a great drummer for the band. If Moon drummed for the Beatles the songs would possibly have sufferred.

George may have been called the quiet Beatle, but he was the one who was open to collaborate with so many other musicians.
Jorje e Dylan nice moments legends
Note the collaboration team of The Traveling Wilburys!
George didn’t pass up any opportunity. ❤
When my wife passed away I knew this was the song I knew we had to have this was the song to say goodbye A beautiful song.

But he did not write this classic song lol
This here song was given to us by Mr. Robert Zimmerman. Olivia Newton-John had a big hit with this in the 70's.
