I have visited San Francisco 4 times in my Canadian 74 years had an Aunt and Uncle there and cousins ......Aunt and Uncle are both gone now this brings back such great Memories Me , my wife and children Loved it there . I never tire of this song. Although I was a child of the 60's and living in UK I wasn't old enough to "take part" fully in the flower power era but did manage to put flowers in my hair and sing this at the top of my voice much to the annoyance of others. Maybe I saw what they didnt however looking back it was one of the best era's ever and one I really would have been a part of. Happy days and lots of great memories.

One of my uncles move there back in the 80s, he said it was the best time of his .. at the time. He met his first boyfriend there and thought he would be with him forever, this was one my uncles favorite songs. He told me that because it was being played when he first met his boyfriend. My uncle moved away from San Francisco 6 years later, after his boyfriend was murdered during a hate crime assault. My uncle who's now 72 has tears in his eyes when ever he hears this song.
SF was a world class city in the 60's. Wasn't nothing better than watching the Giants v Dodgers on a Saturday afternoon. I was born in 1958 the sixties was an enchanting time watching the space age emerge, the civil rights movement and many barriers being broken down

Love this song and the video reflected the era. I was age 4 when this song came out and I remember my mother playing this song all the time. Wish I could have experienced it...but it was a time of people wanting peace amongst all the turmoil. We were still in the Vietnam War and I do believe all the protesters across the nation helped to end the bloody conflict. Sometimes I go back to this video for nostalgia and memories of my mother.

I was 14 during that summer. That song was fabulous and I went to France for the first time. Had a great time. And we still had steam Locos in the UK and France. I was happy. I got to SF in 78 and loved it. I got driven round the city by a girl in a Porsche. Happy days and great memories. This song brings the flooding back.

It is as if life is about life and not getting bogged down in sterile problems and I feel as if Human Sympathy was not only true but ruled a world without any rule except sympathy. A french songwriter (Maxime Le Forestier) wrote a song called "San Fransisco" (you should look up for the words ) and at one point he sings "After years on the road, we meet up again, another will arrive to tell us news of another who will be back in 1 or 2 years, and since he's happy, we'll fall asleep." I guess it sum it all up. Do you personnaly still believe in what you used to believe in the 60's ? Did you feel like it was useless ? What was it about anyway ? Although I was a child of the 60's and living in UK I wasn't old enough to "take part" fully in the flower power era but did manage to put flowers in my hair and sing this at the top of my voice much to the annoyance of others. One of my uncles move there back in the 80s, he said it was the best time of his .. at the time. He met his first boyfriend there and thought he would be with him forever, this was one my uncles favorite songs. He told me that because it was being played when he first met his boyfriend. My uncle moved away from San Francisco 6 years later, after his boyfriend was murdered during a hate crime assault. My uncle who's now 72 has tears in his eyes when ever he hears this song.

Love this song and the video reflected the era. I was age 4 when this song came out and I remember my mother playing this song all the time. Wish I could have experienced it...but it was a time of people wanting peace amongst all the turmoil. We were still in the Vietnam War and I do believe all the protesters across the nation helped to end the bloody conflict. Sometimes I go back to this video for nostalgia and memories of my mother.

I was 14 during that summer. That song was fabulous and I went to France for the first time. Had a great time. And we still had steam Locos in the UK and France. I was happy. I got to SF in 78 and loved it. I got driven round the city by a girl in a Porsche. Happy days and great memories. This song brings the flooding back.

@@tiffanyroseangeles34 I am 20, so I grew up in the 10's, in Europe, and well, surely enough I romantize those times but seeing this kind of footage, reading Kerouac (even though he wrote way before hippies happened), translating bob dylan 's lyrics, it makes me dream and hope and love and I feel nostalgic. It is as if life is about life and not getting bogged down in sterile problems and I feel as if Human Sympathy was not only true but ruled a world without any rule except sympathy.
A french songwriter (Maxime Le Forestier) wrote a song called "San Fransisco" (you should look up for the words ) and at one point he sings "After years on the road, we meet up again, another will arrive to tell us news of another who will be back in 1 or 2 years, and since he's happy, we'll fall asleep." I guess it sum it all up.
Do you personnaly still believe in what you used to believe in the 60's ? Did you feel like it was useless ? What was it about anyway ? I am curious about the point of view of someone who lived it.

Il decennio successivo con l'arrivo del consumismo la politica corrotta senza moralità l,arrivismo sul lavoro ,multinazionali a far denaro senza guardare i danni che creavano sia all'ambiente, alla salute ecc e siamo arrivai a oggi con i problemi moltiplicati, basta avere il potere ,non importa se si fanno guerre tu sei considerato un misero numero da mandare allo sbaraglio, la vera amicizia non esiste più si è solo egoisti si guarda solo al proprio io ed al proprio interesse .No no non è proprio il mondo che avevamo pensato, ecco perché si è rimasti delusi .Se penso poi alle generazioni future mi viene da piangere, avanti di questo passo non so dove si possa arrivare .Io sono sul viale del tramonto ,ma pensando ai miei figli tremo !!!ciao. Mi associo ai tuoi pensieri, il bel tempo che fu è stato un periodo d'oro, era anche la mia gioventù, noi ci abbiamo provato perché ci credevamo poi purtroppo non tutto è andato per il verso giusto e siamo rimasti delusi. I remember this song and the summer of 1967. I was ten years old and I lived in Kotka, a small industrial town on the coast of the Bay of Finland. There were stories about San Francisco in newspapers and magazines.
