I am resonating what others have said but felt the same and disappointed enough to do so. This run through got me so excited, it is exactly our sort of game! Then looked for it and drew blanks :( Richard this is almost not fair :( but thanks anyway. I will continue to look out for it. Let's hope they do a reprint soon and more than 1000...
Spectacular Review, Thank you! I noticed in an early round, when Jen had no enhancements on the right side. You had her make two or three deliveries on Phase 3 step 3 (transportation). It might be on your extended game play. Is that a mistake or do I misunderstand the rules?
16:50 may I ask? so in the first round, do you take the 1st player take the dice first or the last player like you did in farm phase? sorry for bad english :D
THANK YOU this was killing me. I almost refused to watch this video altogether because of that @CySquiddy The letter J is pronounced a bit differently in different accents. Pretending it's an H would be easiest for most english-speakers, but in some accents (much of Spain, for example) it's a little harder - kinda like KH
hmmmm you could put 4 little cubes on every corner of the board so in that way you dont need to lift it up when placing cards under it this looks like an amazing game, but how much amazing i will know after playing few times
***** Ah okey! Great! Because BGG says 'best with '3-4'... And today i'v played Seeland, i'v bought it because you where so positive about that game! And you where so right! Thanks a lot! Do you still like it? Because i can't find it in your top lists any more... I just love it! Especially because i am from Holland... Thanks for all your great videos! I can't think of my hobby without your videos, because i also play mostly with 2 (girlfriend or my mom)... Keep up the good work!
Jacob Cadena Nope that just means FunAgain imported the print run done outside the states, at least that's how i'd view it. Hopefully someone will pick up US rights to distribute it here. and hoping its NOT mayfair.
Looks like a good game, almost convinced...until the pig slaughter. Why must there always be animal slaughter in these farm games? Yes, it happens on real farms but it's 2015: not everyone eats meat or needs to see this in a game. We'd rather keep the pigs as pets. My wife will never ever use this part of the game, even if it's strategically viable. Wonder if avoiding that aspect will hurt the game balance.
+shatnershairpiece hmm, there's so much flexibility with how you use your cards, i think you could definitely make a go of avoiding slaughter altogether. it just means that some of the cards you draw you might have to ignore the 'delivery ham to town' function and use them for something else :)
+shatnershairpiece I've been a vegetarian for close on 30 years. I would have no problem in slaughtering pigs in this game (which I received for Xmas today), because, y'know, it's a game.
+Shaun Gratton that's nice, but not everyone can detach from themes they detest. We also have a pet pig, so pig slaughter doesn't make us go "Let's play this game!" Games are supposed to be fun, giving incentive to play - not unpleasant reminders of what we don't agree with in our daily lives.
+Shaun Gratton They do! Because we play the games we actually like to play with the themes we enjoy. If more people spoke out about the themes in games and the distasteful mechanics, maybe designers would stop putting them in. There is absolutely ZERO reason to have animal slaughter included as a game mechanic in 2015. We sold la granja, not for that aspect, but because we thought the game wasn't very good. I used the money to buy our pig a sweater.
Oh man. I literally hurt my face a little cringing so hard when I heard, "I think this is the nearby town of 'La Gran(j)a.'" I enjoy your videos, but you HAVE to do a little research every once in a while to not sound so foolish.
i'm always surprised that some folks respond so strongly to this. i never get bothered when a non-native english speaker radically mispronouces an english city name, for instance. even a city i live in and love, like seattle...
@@bernardoecaI did some quick research and there are places around the world that are named "La Granja". There is a commune in Chile that goes by that name; San Ildefonso in Spain is also known as La Granja or La Granja de San Ildefonso. So, he is not entirely wrong. The issue lies with the creators and their intention, where they referring to and actual place called "La Granja" or did they choose the name to represent the theme "the farm".
@@UsernamePending008 I'm sure they are. They will also be in Spain or former Spanish colonies, and the reason they are called Granja something is that they were farmlands that grew to something else.
Wow this looks amazing. I love how there is so many different ways to use the cards depending on where you place the card under your board.

I am jealous of you getting your hands on this one, Richard. It looks amazing! Thanks for the run through.
11:25 A wainwright is a cartmaker, not a barrel maker. That would be a cooper. :D
historically it's a wagon maker, but yeah, they do both.
OMG cards, dice, board, words placement.....did they miss any mechanics?!?! Wow, impressively deep game. I need to find someone to play this with now.
You're amazing! I'm so excited to watch this, but it's thanksgiving in Canada today, so I'll save it till after dessert :)

Sorry but I need the timestamp to be able to check it
only 1000 copys in the world oO In BGG they are selling it around 134 euro or 130 dollars. Seems way to much but the game looks very cool
16:50 may I ask?

"La Granja" means "The Farm", so I doubt it's the name of the nearby town :)
And Google says it's pronounced "Grankha".
It should be pronounced "Granha". Oh google lol
Haru kun
I added the 'k' because I thought it's closer than just 'h' :)
Oh I see what you mean. ^^ Though I think it would be easier to start saying "grand" without the D and end with "Hack" without "ck". :)
I was just about to comment this, thank you (gracias).

Can't find a copy under $100 anywhere. This playthrough made me excited and then sad...
Fantastic ! Been waiting for this one.

this looks like an amazing game, but how much amazing i will know after playing few times
a very good idea
Or you could just sleeve the cards.
Man this game looks great. Too bad I can't find a copy anywhere.
lol @ "This is the town of La Granja"
La granja means "the farm" in Spanish. It's also a place in Spain right?
Not that I know of. You may be mixing up Granada and La Mancha? :D
News just out. McKinsey has just opened consulting services to Lagranja players
Why do players start with a victory point? Isn't that redundant?
vp is a resource you can spend for stuff
How does it hold up against games like Agricola?
you can see how i rank all my games at ranked.rahdo.com :)
Thanks
Would you say this is easier to teach (ones wife) than agric? I'm looking into getting our first deep(er) euro.
I like la Granja, but agrícola Is better.
I believe this guy might actually be a bear. Look at the amount of hair on that arm!
This doesnt look like the roll n write?
i think you're thinking of this one: ua-cam.com/video/3N_8cVcNw9E/v-deo.html :)
Is it that good with 2 players?
+Nico pp fantastic with 2 :)

hope it comes stateside
Jason Wayne Speicher i imagine it will eventually
It has come stateside. To my knowledge, only FunAgain Games had them here in the US, and they sold out pretty quick. I was fortunate to get one.

Jason Wayne Speicher I'm sure you know by now but stronghold games is debuting this at origins next week!
This is a looooonnnnnngggg game..
Video too slow pace
Seriously. Brutally slow
i'm a big 2x speed fan myself :)

rahdo i dont think he is refering to the pronunciation, granja means farm. Its It's like saying the city of farm.
