- Hey yall, this is my six month natural hair update and natural hair salon visit. This time, I went to a new salon, a luxury natural hair salon in New York City.
I visited a natural hair salon for a trim six months ago and ended up having to cut my long type 4 natural hair. Since then, I have decided to visit a natural hair salon and get a professional trim on my natural hair every three months. Since you chose health over length your hair has really flourished. Regular trims really are so important. That length is gonna come back but it’s gonna look amazing this time!

Same. I didn’t start doing this until November. My ends are much fuller after 3 trims in that time. I thought my hair was thinning… nope my ends were just a mess.

@@MsMoore-bj9lq I'm thinking it's the skill 🤔. In my area, a Natural hair stylist that is not silk pressing, braiding-only (no wash or blow out), or loc maintenance is hard to come by.

Your trim video inspired me to get mine trimmed professionally and babay when I tell you it was pretty much a second mini big chop because I had been walking around with dead ends for years wondering why I could never get rid of ssks and split ends. I pretty much went from bra strap length to shoulder length but I love it. My wash and gos look brilliant and even last 2 weeks. I retain moisture well and I even use less products now. I am doing less but gaining more. 😍 so thank you for that video gurrrrrr. God bless you

Trims are a must! Im on a 4 month cycle now but it took a year going every 3 months to get to this point. With each visit, less hair is trimmed! Hair Rules in NY used to be my goto but I followed my stylist to Bloom Beauty Salon…..since you’re doing the NY Salon tour, lol! Your hair looks great….per usual, lol.

I'm curious, trimming natural hair after it is blow dried, does that impact the health of your hair? Why not trim the hair in its natural textured state to reduce the damage heat can cause?
Why would I consciously do something that damages my hair? Heat isn’t the devil. Of course you can trim your hair curly but in my experience, a lot of damage is hidden by highly textured hair. Heat allows me and a stylist to really see my ends. I have a video all about it
@@SheReaDelSolI never said heat is the devil. In a previous video, the one where the gentleman who does Michelle Obama's hair, there was some dialogue between you and him where he mentioned heat or blow dry and you told him you don't use heat on your hair. The look on his face was one of surprise. So that's what lead me to inquire here.
And I've watched the video where you got a haircut in another salon in Jersey. I thought the same thing I asked here also, but didn't ask the question under that video.
@@MzBatyah He wanted to flat iron it. I don’t straighten my hair. He was surprised because everyone else that day got their hair flat ironed.

I know there is a reflection in the mirror of a name on the wall but I can’t make it out.
I know this is a late comment. I watched the CutitKinky video that was recently uploaded. This hairstylist is by far the worst of the two. She used two wrong tools on your hair. She also doesn't know how to handle and detangle hair. She didn't insure your hair was hydrated for this blow out. To make it worse she used too much heat on your hair if you are trying to keep your curls intact.
Nice. 🤎🤎🤎 Gotta blow my hair out so I can practice flat twisting. I’ve tried on my natural curly/coily hair but it tangled too much and I got frustrated. When I get that RevAir I’ll try it again.
