    This is so important because I believe alot of 4C women are discouraged from going natural because we don't have loose curly hair but It's just as beautiful especially when it's properly moisturized!

      I don't have 4c hair but by the 5th day in my twist out, I get the most compliments, from all races too! Actually I don't always have the desire to twist my hair some nights and my hair will look it's most unruly and big, those are the days I'm happiest with how it looks. Dealing with those tangles though!

    • @biancarosembert7472
      @biancarosembert7472 7 років тому +88

      Twist outs don't work for me lol they look like noodles when they're freshly done. I like the big hair look too!

    • @calmaschamomile1252
      @calmaschamomile1252 7 років тому +57

      Well that too, but the fact we watch wash and go tutorials but don't make it revolve around our hair. Wash and go's everyday do NOT work for everyone. I do agree, a lot of girls gets their heart set on their hair being a certain texture/way when they watch UA-camrs only to be disappointed big time!

    • @biancarosembert7472
      @biancarosembert7472 7 років тому +35

      Very true! Every hair type is dif. especially when you consider porosity and shrinkage. I do wash and go's everyday on my TWA because it keeps my hair constantly moisturized and I don't like working on dry hair but it's not the same for someone else. 4C hair types can do wash n go's but we can't expect a long curly fro despite how long it is when it's wet or when you pull it. Short hair 4C girls have to learn to love it in it's shrunken glory lol

    • @biancarosembert7472
      @biancarosembert7472 7 років тому +43

      Don't be love! I was too. I have a round, big head and I only have 3 pics from when I cut it lmao. But I realized this insecurity has to stop with us. If we don't love it, who else will? It will grow out to be a beautiful mess in a few years but in the meantime, it's ok to embrace it!

    This made me tear up, so glad to see 4c curlies getting this kind of care and love since they really pioneered this movement and then were pushed to the side in favor of looser curl patterns. So fricking beautiful and really shows how gorgeous and unique their curl pattern is. ahhh love it!

    • @stropcitygal4890
      @stropcitygal4890 7 років тому +8

      R St33l3 Yes, I regularly moisturize. I never wear braids and I try to limit wearing high puffs because I know that the tension wrecks havoc on my edges. My edges are a totally different texture than the rest of my hair. The rest of my hair is flourishing! I guess I just need to give my edges a little more TLC.

    • @likishagefferie4381
      @likishagefferie4381 7 років тому +13

      Nicole Smith DON'T do braids girl! Your edges will only get worse. The best way to regrow your edges is to either let them rest by using hairstyles that do not put tension on your edges or to let them rest under wiggs (no weaves).

    I am sooooooo happy this video is posted!!! This was awesome information!
    I see a lot of people complaining about the hair stylist prices. I personally feel like you get what you pay for and natural hair is HARD. I have 4c hair and I KNOW how difficult it can be for me let alone letting someone else do it. She did a lot of work on her hair and gave her a lesson on ways to better take care of her hair. I wish somebody in my area could do the same. You can tell this lady is educated on natural hair I appreciate that AND the results were great. We need more stylist that are interested in all types of natural hair. I have been to a total of 4 stylist that "claim" they specialize in natural hair only to leave with my hair in knots or heat damaged because when they said they specialized in natural hair they did not mean 4c natural hair.

It's not our fault people are ignorant about our hair and think for some reason we are the only race that has hair that doesn't grow. You're still perpetuating that tired trope about 4c hair being "a curse". There is nothing cursed or even complicated about maintaining (any) hair period. Shampoo and condition 4c hair at least 3 times a week. Detangle with fingers, and let an Afro be an Afro. It's that simple! It grows just fine with this regimen and it truly is wash-n-go. You can even use inexpensive products like VO5.
      And what is that "regardless" comment about? "Regardless" of what? I find the comment offensive -- especially coming from a dude with the same hair texture -- implying there's something wrong with me because of my hair, that you must love me "in spite of" my hair. This 4c woman doesn't want your hypocritical, brainwashed, fake ass 'compliment'.

Our hair does not make us a special kind of breed. She had a mixed child and now she get to learn how to take care of hair like most of us do. Do you think only white people watch these videos? We are as important as any other race. A half black man or a full black man choosing to be with a white woman should not mean that black women are as unimportant as other women. Love has no types. A black man that is demeaning to a black woman, now there is a problem. You can't generalize black men, my mom is dark skinned and yet she is considered really beautiful by multiple black men. The only education required for having a black child is to know how to take care of babies. That simple. Not cause of the hair. You don't know how many white children are born with curly hair (not the same, but similar). I don't see no one telling white woman to learn beforehand how to take care of curly hair. I’m white and I have the straitest, do nothing hair so I say this with the utmost envy, your hair is gorgeous. More women of color should embrace their natural hair, it is stunning. I love it and wish I had hair so pretty. I paid over $100 to have my hair done for my son’s wedding and two hours later it was hanging like a limp nothing. My hair will not hold anything. No curls, no waves, no style. I would love to have hair that can be styled. Embrace it and love it. ❤️❤️

    FINALLY!!! I've been literally HUNTING for a curly hair salon that I can go get a trim/shaping from in the city. All those other ones that EVERYONE be taking about mainly deal with looser textures so I've never trusted going to them. So coming across this video is a literal BLESSING for me!! Thank you and your hair looks amazing and I'm def going there soon 🙌🏽🙌🏽😫😫

      Amberose Francis I second that. I have 3c 4a and went to a hair salon where the hairstylist sweared to me that she knows how to work natural hair. I left the salon with dry and damaged hair💇.Now I do my own hair and dont even dare to step in a salon. Our S.A hairstylist are so uneducated about natural hair : (

      FORRREAL!!!! Can I get one?!? I love doing my own hair, but I hate feeling fearful of going to an actual salon. I’ve heard so many horror stories that I don’t want to be added to that population of bad experiences. However, I need a professional consultation just to make sure if I’m doing it right. Unfortunately, in Melbourne, FL there aren’t any salons close by that don’t look sketchy from reviews... I’m better off not taking any chances XD

    Old white man here. - Former professional colorist for Zotos and Goldwell. Licensed since 1986. For the first 5 years of my career as a hairstylist, I worked with a number of platform artists and instructors at hair shows, trade shows, and in salons all over. - Have to say, I rarely see the natural gift of teaching and instruction in cosmetologists or people in the beauty industry. - The young lady performing the services for this client really should be on stage teaching people about hair. She's excellent in her delivery. Clearly, an expert in her field - and her communications skills are superior. She provides inspiration without patronizing or "overselling anything" to her client. She presents as genuinely interested in the science and educational aspects of her profession. Hair professionals don't often get to experience being taught by such naturally gifted artists. - She has the gift to teach. She's using that gift here in her videos. But man, it would be great to see her live on stage, teaching other professionals.

    Tameeka’s so knowledgable. She has to be a cosmetologist, and not just a hairstylist. This woman knows her stuff and she’s so professional. She listens actively to her patrons and she doesn’t make them feel bad when they make obvious mistakes in caring for their hair. I wish she was located where I live.
