I too have started using heat to stretch my hair and I have noticed a huge difference. No more single strand knots and like you, I’ve discovered that my hair likes heat too🤷🏿‍♀️. I have literally kept my hair tucked away for the past year wearing it out every so often. I live in a hot climate and work outside keeping it in 2 french braids or mini twists and thoroughly moisturized along with consistency of trims my hair is thriving again. I’m doing what’s best for my hair.

Girl.. I have the same sentiments with UA-cam educators who are also stylists. I went to MoKnowsHair about 5 years ago… her personality was snarky, and although she took her time to style each curl nicely for the wash and go, the style was completely shrunken and she didn’t reserve time to stretch it whatsoever. Girl, the next day I had the most shrunken, matted TWA of my entire life!! It ruined my entire next day and I didn’t want to take any photos while I was in NYC even though I had traveled to visit her for the style and to see friends. Since I was traveling I also didn’t have tools and products to fix it until I returned home. Such a wasted experience.. time and money. I finally found great stylists who I never stray from, and they aren’t UA-cam stylists. When I leave, my wash and go style lasts for well OVER a week with very minimal refresh.

Thank you for saying do what works for you! So many stylist throw shade at using butters. Even though my hsir is fine to medium, it is high porosity and loves thick conditioners and butters. If I use a twisting butter or moisture butter it stays moisturized for days. Creams don't cut it.

I’ve been using my RevAir for almost every wash day for the last 4 years and trim every month. The ONLY time I start having setbacks…is when I go a short while of being lazy and just air drying etc lol.
I find that my SSKs and split ends are sooo minimal because of my stretching my hair every wash day.
AND my hair honestly thrived the MOST when I washed every 2 weeks and every other wash day I would straighten my hair instead of only blow drying. On the straighten days I would trim.
I retain length best this way!
I only stopped this regimen because my scalp psoriasis started getting outta control again. But I switched from the Head and Shoulders Royal Oils line to the As I Am Tea Tree line 3 weeks ago and my scalp psoriasis has practically disappeared! So I’m back on my regimen ASAP!

I don’t trim as much because I only like wearing a shrunken afro as my style. But for sure, I never let my hair fully air dry after washing it.

I actually steam my hair. I bought this portable steamer thing that I was actually initially using to steam a backdrop for photo shoots, and what I learned about my hair is that of course something that I already knew, is that as low priority. But with that being said, cool water does not penetrate my hair to be absorbed, so I steam my hair, it makes a world of difference. For the most part, I don't even need any other products outside of steaming water for my hair to be moisturized, to be easily detangled, and to be easily style after steaming it. I just make sure I'm a bit of a distance away from the steamer.
I had to do seemingly a big chop to on my end just like you, I mean I cut off a lot of here, I cut off like half of my hair. Like my hair was literally a foot long 😭😭, but when I saw them invisible ends like you did, i said, oh NOOOO, but I knew it had to go. I didn't cry this time (I cried when my hair was breaking off, whuch i discovered wht back then), I was just like, I know this was for the best. Imma say this, DIY banana and honey hair mask can be thr grim reaper from some of us, took my hair out!! Cut it at the beginning of the year, and did a few more trims, a lot of the hair has frown back tho, I'm surprised.

I've been following you for 7 years and our hair is identical. I didn't have a stylist for years and was trimming at home...I found an amazing natural stylist October 2022 and learned that I need to keep my hair stretched to reduce knots...I blow dry every wash day. Now, she doesn't grease or oil my scalp but she knows what she is doing. I go the the salon every 3 months and my hair is flourishing. I also stopped shampooing weekly...I shampoo every 14-20 days but re-moisturize daily for less manipulation on my fine strands. It's only been 6 months since my mini big chop but my hair has never been so full from roots to ends. Staying on top of my internal vitamins has definitely helped as well. Lessons:
    1) there's a huge difference between "doing what your hair loves" and "UNDERSTANDING why your hair loves what it loves",
    2) making arguments about not listening to others whilst you dish out advice to others can defeat the whole purpose of having a "channel", and
    3) if you put your business out there (e.g.by being a "celebrity/influencer" or being on a "public" platform like the "tube" with a "comments" section) then you've effectively declared being "open to all".

I don’t think the heat with the revair has hurt your hair from the pics at all . Your doing fine it’s a journey of trial and error and you throw olaplex stuff back in it

Your hair looks beautiful and healthy from root to ends. I would like to know how much did your stylist charge for clipping your ends???
I stopped going to a stylist to treat my hair because as you know the don't listen which is very hard. I guess umma find one to care for my ends like you mentioned😅

    • @SheReaDelSol
      @SheReaDelSol  Рік тому

It’s $100 to wash, treat, blow dry and trim.

Your hair looks soooo good and the fact that that person made a comment about your hair not growing is crazy to me. Like girl, is your hair growing cause you can drink your water, mind your business, and get out the comments. Troll lol

It was a very strange comment, especially because I don’t make hair growth content anymore or pretend I have all the answers. I’m just doing me at this point.
