Hey Johnny, What's happening? Love your vids. man, Very informative. Listen, I have that same Bass and finish but I have the Lakland pickups and pre, totally stock; but I recently realized that the output (compared to my Fender American Deluxe Jazz) is very low/weak. Would you recommend a ToneMonster preamp with the stock pickups for more output? What do you think of the Lakland LH-3 pickups and Lakland pre? Thanks Man👊🏾
I own both a Lakland 55-02 & and old MTD Kingston Heir that I Modded the bejesus out of (Currently have Delano MM5-He + Jmc5 He MM/J pickups I wired the bridge pup to a 3-way toggle series/single/parallel before a John East Uni-Pre that’s KILLER +Hipshot bridge & tuners etc..) I also have a Sandberg TM-4; (4 string has Delano MM5-Fe + JMVC5 Fe & 2-band Delano Xtender pre stock) and honestly they’re all pretty nice. I prefer the MTD K-Heir over the Lakland 55-02 but that’s only because I love the Assymetrical Neck profile Feiten system and I’ve got it fitted with 850$ worth of custom electronics which I prefer.. The Lakland looks better than the other two by a mile Deluxe Flame maple top cherry burst is 👌🏻. Sandberg is expensive for a non European & MTD discontinued production on the Kingston Heir 5’s yrs ago so.. If you’re in the US a Lakland with Bartolini’s could be the ticket?!?
Johnny, your videos and playing are always amazing! Thank you for doing what you do!
Beautiful Bass review, as usual!
Greetings from Uganda 🇺🇬👊🏿❤️

That flame maple. Beautiful bass. You are blessed johnny lee long. 😉
Hey Johnny, I enjoyed this fun video and appreciate your playing very much.
Right at “2.47” minutes you give a little “goddamn” giggle, I swear I made that same reaction, at the same time. Sweet F-ing tone.
Thank you
Nothing like a classic 94 series Lakland! I own a couple, and those are my favorite basses.
Nice bass,I do love Lakland nice natural looks and it sounds really clean.
Love watchin' u play :D

I has an Lakland so I know how it sounds real clean and pristine it has a great superb sound.
Strange shape cool sound !?🤔
I wonder what time it is in America, coz some of us were sleeping when u uploaded this video, I’m just saying! Haliring from South Africa
Love u South Africa
I agree with the tone monster change because the stock Lakland preamp is only good for Motown.
Jonny! put EMG's in that Mo Fo.
hi jonny how you do?
That needs EMG pickups. I did my mine with Bartolini but it didn't sound as good as my EMG bass, so no more Bartolini.
This bass is A "fat kinky lady"🙂
Those Lakland pickups have a very low output. Lakland builds a very good bass.
Boy uses a fool
Stretch marks on a bass
The Lakland 55-02 preamp's sucks and so do thier pickups. Better get a 55-01 or an MTD Hier for that matter.
