I used this method in my bathroom last year. To hold the plastic down I used double sided gorilla glue tape (only recommend for TILE) I just did a grid. NO sticky residue whatsoever. I’ll be doing a different method in my kitchen hopefully I have the courage to film and post it.
POST. DO IT! YOU MUST POST. I am watching every rental friendly makeover to see the best methods. And hopefully see the updates after months and probably year(s)
Great video! I know Peel and stick is renter friendly, but I don’t see a landlord removing the peel and stick when it looks better than the existing vinyl that you covered.
I just discovered your videos, and I love them. You’re so honest and fresh. I also like the music I wish you mentioned who you had playing in each video because it’s lovely music.
I tried doing this for the 1st time and the grout started cracking so I ended up using Chaulk. But it holds and looks better. Love your floor, Great job
I love the advice about being aware of what others are thinking is great for you, might not always be the best thing for you in reality. I so feel that.
I love watching the journey of implementing experimental renter-friendly solutions. Look forward to the update to see how this new floor holds up to the test of time.
OMG- I am doing the exact same thing in my kitchen! Something I didn’t think about is the direction I want the tile to go in… question, what program did you use for the mock up? I feel this will help me with my project. I love how yours turned out
I feel like maybe adding certain “holes” in the curtain in a few key areas to allow the tile to adhere to the “solid surface” underneath so it’s maybe more secure but still less adhesive to clean up when removed…Or even just the perimeter. But hopefully it works the way you’ve done it!
IN LOVE! you did such a great job! Living in California, I won’t be purchasing a house anytime soon, so these renter-friendly hacks are a godsend! Love the shower curtain hack! If you plan to do this again in the future, to help with sliding, maybe laying down smaller cuts of the shower curtain and taping them to the floor would help the tile grip to more areas and prevent sliding?
Brilliant! A shower curtain- who but Dalia would have realized it's potential!!! I love how well the veining lines up and the staggered tile placement is perfect. I think this is one of your best concepts yet and really makes a statement in your kitchen. I love it! Thank you for sharing and I am so impressed with your vision in seeing beyond how an item is supposed to be used. 😊☺️🥰❤️🦩☀️🌴❤️
Greetings from Australia - Wow I love it! It's beautiful. I was browsing through trying to find something about removable tiles for flooring in kitchen & bathroom rental friendly. Thank you so much for a GREAT video you really did a good job! I love the shower curtain idea. One thing though I didn't realize you still need to grout so thank you for clarifying that.
I just purchased a new home with carpet. The carpets not bad, but i have a dog that shed's. I want marble flooring, and this is the perfect way to get that done. Thanks you. Subscribed.
Amazing, I love it! How would you remove the grout between the tiles, when you move out? I'm asking because I want to do the samr methode as you. Thank you for sharing your greate job.
Great Idea! I watch a few diy UA-cam channels but I don't feel the need to skip forward on any of your content like i do there's. Thank you for the ideas and great content. Stay Blessed!
I installed this size of tile by Tile Master in my entryway and it was such an easy process. The only reason I would say I would not do it again is because these tiles are so much harder to clean than regular tile. But they still look great and people can’t believe they are peel and stick when they see them.
@@Elle.Webb11 I clean them the same way I would my other floors. With a mop. But I noticed over time the tiles are actually getting stained somehow and are not cleanable :(
I follow a youtuber named Waynaworld that did this in her bathroom but w/o the grout. She's does updates on it and it seems to beholding up pretty well.
Such a great video and so helpful! One question..do you still feel like this flooring is still renter-friendly even with the grout? Will it be able to pulled easily with grout? Thanks so much!
Love the video- subscribed! I bet if you painted your kitchen cabinets white with gold hardware it would completely open up your kitchen and match with floor. 😊❤
Dalia I love this! I’m hoping to put a peel and stick on a (rented) varnished wood countertop but even painters tape is peeling the varnish off . Shower curtains in smaller sections might be the key!
I have never known anyone who used grout with peel and stick tiles. I usually get them as close together as I possibly can, because I don't use grout of any kind with vinyl.
Would love to know how this is holding up and if anyone has done this and pulled it up. Would love to know how easy it comes up. Also wondering why not cover with contact paper instead of shower curtain?
I was thinking of doing this to a 14ftx16ft room and we originally have hardwood floors with varnish I do not want to damage with adhesive. I am looking at the more wood style peel and stick tiles so I won't need grout. Do you thing I will have issues doing in a larger area based on your opinion if I go wall to wall I'd imagine it cant shift if its pushed against all walls. Let me know your opionion.
I am completely new to all of this and my question is: DO YOU LEAVE THE FLOORING DOWN IF YOU STICK DIRECTLY TO THE FLOOR. AND IF YOU PULL IT UP CAN YOU RE-USE THE TILES???
Hey Dalia, I'm new on your channel! Thank you so much for this content! I'd love to ask you how long did your floor last? And did you clean it with water? THanks!
This is amazing Dahlia! I’m totally gonna do this in my own apartment. Why did you decide on a shower curtain liner as opposed to butcher paper? Was it more cost effective?
I watched your bathroom peel and stick also, and for me the grouting seems to really give a better appearance, but I don't want it to be permanent, so I will tape under the grout instead of covering the entire floor with an "underfloor." Gonna try that anyway. Thank you so much.
Dalia you did a beautiful job on the floors! I am about to rent my first home and I wish that I can paint the cabinets and upgrade the appliances in my rental but I love the way yours look! The backsplash and floors really bring that kitchen to life! What kind of backsplash did you use?
I keep scanning the comments so I’ll cross my fingers for a response I know you’re busy but if we use grout that makes it more permanent and not renter friendly? I’m asking not assuming and the spacers are needed why Thanks for your time to answer and for making these videos you’re amazing
because I put down the shower curtain first the entire floor is pretty much a floating floor. to remove it I just have to lift up one edge tile and the whole floor will come up! none of the grout is actually touching the original floor.
Did your grout stain the tile at all? I just did my kitchen with these tiles and same kind of grout and the staining from the grout is terrible. I was wiping right after applying the grout too :( I hope I can get it cleaned up.
Do the tiles make a sound when u walk over them ? Since a curtain is placed underneath them? Or is it perfectly fine and practical? Plus thanks for ur ideas❤
That is a very good idea shower curtain, but blue tape does work better, and it does not leave glue adhesive. Mineral spirits well off the glue adhesive from the tape
Are these tile practical to walk on or would they snap and break with time ? What I meant is are they weak or do they really resemble actual marble tiles?
Hello Friends! Check out my blog post for a complete step-by-step tutorial on this project! 💕

Do you know the exact name of this tape from gorilla?
Did the grout easily chip or cracked over Time?
Tell us more!!!😅 How did you do the grid?
Hi! It would be awesome to see! Which of the double sided gorilla glue tape did you use? I think there is the regular and the mounting tape.
Man I can’t thank her enough . She is such a life saver when comes to rental friendly.
True
Great video! I know Peel and stick is renter friendly, but I don’t see a landlord removing the peel and stick when it looks better than the existing vinyl that you covered.
To make a template you can use the paper backing from a used tile piece to cut the template and transfer it to the tile. Looks great!!
you must giggle whenever you move around your apartment from all the gorgeous upgrades, you're doing a great job girl
haha thanks Shannon 🥰
Your mind is just different. Your ideas are so unique and innovative. By far, one of my fave interior design channels. You are such a creative.

I live in a rental that was forgotten in time since the 1940's LOL, your videos help a lot! Thank you! I got work to do 😁🥰

I’m really loving the cabinets with every renovation you do in the kitchen! I feel like they look better and better with the space!!
Yay! Thank you!
Hi Dalia! Have you posted an update on this project anywhere? Just wondering how its been holding up before doing it myself :)
I also would love to know!
I’d love to know also

Hi @Dalia! How did the shower curtain underlayment method compare to the 3M vinyl tape method you used for the washroom ?
I wonder about shifting since you didn't go under fridge or stove?

Can I use the shower curtain hack for the bathroom as well?
How long does it actually last? After mopping the tiles plenty of times, it would stain?
Do you apply a grout sealer after grouting?
LOL! The little tappy taps of your feet! 😂
