Watch how I did my diy marble floors in herringbone pattern in my bathroom: • DIY Herringbone Marble...
Hi friends! In this video I'm going to be trying an easy diy peel & stick flooring method that won't leave any sticky residue and will be very easy to remove! This is a great option for doing a flooring upgrade in a rental apartment as it is fully removable and easy to do. This diy floor tile project is also really affordable and completely transforms the space! This is a great diy kitchen floor upgrade or diy bathroom floor upgrade project to do! I used a grey grout this time and kept the tiles in their full original sizes. I love the diy marble floor look and will keep you up to date on how it holds up!

Hello Friends! Check out my blog post for a complete step-by-step tutorial on this project! 💕
diydalia.com/diy-peel-and-stick-tiles-kitchen-floor
I used this method in my bathroom last year. To hold the plastic down I used double sided gorilla glue tape (only recommend for TILE) I just did a grid. NO sticky residue whatsoever. I’ll be doing a different method in my kitchen hopefully I have the courage to film and post it.
POST. DO IT! YOU MUST POST.
I am watching every rental friendly makeover to see the best methods. And hopefully see the updates after months and probably year(s)
Do you know the exact name of this tape from gorilla?
Did the grout easily chip or cracked over Time?
Tell us more!!!😅 How did you do the grid?
Hi! It would be awesome to see! Which of the double sided gorilla glue tape did you use? I think there is the regular and the mounting tape.
Man I can’t thank her enough . She is such a life saver when comes to rental friendly.
True
Brightens up the space so nicely!
I live in a rental that was forgotten in time since the 1940's LOL, your videos help a lot! Thank you! I got work to do 😁🥰
I love the advice about being aware of what others are thinking is great for you, might not always be the best thing for you in reality. I so feel that.
Love how the tile really upgrades the space
Thank you!
OMG! I love how this turned out!
I just discovered your videos, and I love them. You’re so honest and fresh. I also like the music I wish you mentioned who you had playing in each video because it’s lovely music.
you must giggle whenever you move around your apartment from all the gorgeous upgrades, you're doing a great job girl
haha thanks Shannon 🥰
So much brighter now!! Great tile choice. Love it
Thanks Amanda!
Great video! I know Peel and stick is renter friendly, but I don’t see a landlord removing the peel and stick when it looks better than the existing vinyl that you covered.
Thank you so much I didn't know what to put and was about to return the beautiful tiles I bought, but you saved me!
I cannot wait to do this in my 2 bathrooms. Thank you so much for such a through video
Great job,I love the new look in your kitchen
Very cool idea with the shower curtains!
To make a template you can use the paper backing from a used tile piece to cut the template and transfer it to the tile. Looks great!!
I love watching the journey of implementing experimental renter-friendly solutions. Look forward to the update to see how this new floor holds up to the test of time.
Thanks for watching!
Great Job!! This helped me a lot and I can't wait to DIY my kitchen and bathroom

Thank you for uploading this
your floor look so amazing good job
Thank you for sharing! One day I'ma update my outdated kitchen! ✨💜✨
Thanks for watching 🥰
Brilliant! A shower curtain- who but Dalia would have realized it's potential!!! I love how well the veining lines up and the staggered tile placement is perfect. I think this is one of your best concepts yet and really makes a statement in your kitchen. I love it! Thank you for sharing and I am so impressed with your vision in seeing beyond how an item is supposed to be used. 😊☺️🥰❤️🦩☀️🌴❤️
Thanks so much Katrina! 🥰 Hoping it holds up 🤞🏼
Definitely going to try this method on my bathroom walls. I have flat paint in my apartment and hoping the masking tape won’t peel the wall off
I was looking for this way to do an apartment floor…..now I want to see a back splash …thank you for showing us
Wow!!! Im not surprised it looks fabulous!!!!! Well done! Thank you for paving the way for us to try these things❤
I'm glad you made this video. I might try a peel n stick at my place :) looks great!
So glad you liked it! Let me know how it goes!
LOL! The little tappy taps of your feet! 😂
Great job!
Love the video- subscribed! I bet if you painted your kitchen cabinets white with gold hardware it would completely open up your kitchen and match with floor. 😊❤
Looks great
OMG- I am doing the exact same thing in my kitchen! Something I didn’t think about is the direction I want the tile to go in… question, what program did you use for the mock up? I feel this will help me with my project. I love how yours turned out
I absolutely love all your projects and this one in particular!
Dalia you did a beautiful job on the floors! I am about to rent my first home and I wish that I can paint the cabinets and upgrade the appliances in my rental but I love the way yours look! The backsplash and floors really bring that kitchen to life! What kind of backsplash did you use?
Dalia I love this! I’m hoping to put a peel and stick on a (rented) varnished wood countertop but even painters tape is peeling the varnish off . Shower curtains in smaller sections might be the key!
I tried doing this for the 1st time and the grout started cracking so I ended up using Chaulk. But it holds and looks better. Love your floor, Great job
What type of chaulk did you use?
I follow a youtuber named Waynaworld that did this in her bathroom but w/o the grout. She's does updates on it and it seems to beholding up pretty well.
IN LOVE! you did such a great job! Living in California, I won’t be purchasing a house anytime soon, so these renter-friendly hacks are a godsend!
Love the shower curtain hack! If you plan to do this again in the future, to help with sliding, maybe laying down smaller cuts of the shower curtain and taping them to the floor would help the tile grip to more areas and prevent sliding?
Thanks so much! Cutting the shower curtain is a great idea!
Same here! Housing prices here are just ridiculous…loving her rental friendly hacks!!
Great idea Dalia, looks so good! It definitely seems to brighten up the kitchen and draw the eye up.
Thank you!
Bored, supposed to be working but I instantly subscribed when I seen the bathroom
Great video.. is the floor still holding up.? Did it crack ?
Genius!!
I love it! You make everything look doable :)
Thanks Wendy!
Will you finish the backslash? Will you keep the cabinets that way? I love you kitchen btw you are so skilled!!
Your so great! I love your way of thinking things out ..genius ..when you used your feet ! I just died …ARE YOU MY PEOPLE LOL
🤣
looks much better
Amazing, I love it!
How would you remove the grout between the tiles, when you move out?
I'm asking because I want to do the samr methode as you.
Thank you for sharing your greate job.
I love this! I want to do it so badly! ❤
This turned out amazing and I'm feeling really inspired! I was just wondering what program or app you used to edit the floor?
Thanks for your video!! From the tile spacer link that you posted, what pack size did you buy and what tile spacing distance did you choose?
Such a great video and so helpful! One question..do you still feel like this flooring is still renter-friendly even with the grout? Will it be able to pulled easily with grout? Thanks so much!
I feel like maybe adding certain “holes” in the curtain in a few key areas to allow the tile to adhere to the “solid surface” underneath so it’s maybe more secure but still less adhesive to clean up when removed…Or even just the perimeter. But hopefully it works the way you’ve done it!
Great idea. Thanks!
I loved this. I wish you'd do something similar for those of us with hideous countertops. I wonder if this would work? I enjoy your videos.
Exactly I have 70s YELLOW and it’s so disturbing, as in, not soothing to my soul 😢
This is amazing Dahlia! I’m totally gonna do this in my own apartment. Why did you decide on a shower curtain liner as opposed to butcher paper? Was it more cost effective?
How did you do the mock up of the room? Like programs? Good job🎉
This was such a great watch because it’s educational and your absolutely hilarious 🤣 You and your partner make a great team and the floor tiles looked amazing!
Get yourself some knee pads and a back support strap, i wish i did years ago 😭
Also, it would be lovely to see a video about yourself, your journey, inspiration etc! 🙂
Good morning Dalia! 💚
Ok, now ive watched, its looks so good!!! I love it and the affordability of it too. Thanks for sharing the financial rundown!
Thanks so much for watching!!
5:44 this is life ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I’m curious to know how mopping it will go? Looks great!
Same I’m looking for this answer
Hey Dalia, I'm new on your channel! Thank you so much for this content! I'd love to ask you how long did your floor last? And did you clean it with water? THanks!
I have never known anyone who used grout with peel and stick tiles. I usually get them as close together as I possibly can, because I don't use grout of any kind with vinyl.
Good job! How did the floor hold up?
THANKS
How is it looking? How long did the flooring lasts? Thanks!
I installed this size of tile by Tile Master in my entryway and it was such an easy process. The only reason I would say I would not do it again is because these tiles are so much harder to clean than regular tile.
But they still look great and people can’t believe they are peel and stick when they see them.
How do you clean them?
@@Elle.Webb11 I clean them the same way I would my other floors. With a mop. But I noticed over time the tiles are actually getting stained somehow and are not cleanable :(
@@alexelev1986 ohhhh, that's interesting, and very helpful to know. Thank you!
I have an ugly organde peach tile in my foyer, I might try this.
Looks great! One thing I wonder.. Can you clean the floor as usual now?
Yup! No problem so far!
Hi Dalia! Have you posted an update on this project anywhere? Just wondering how its been holding up before doing it myself :)
I also would love to know!
I’d love to know also
Nice
A shower curtain? That's brilliant!!! How did you come up with that? It looks great and really matches the backsplash now! Love it!
Thank you! I actually had someone comment once that an underlayment could work and it made me think of the shower curtain.
@@DIYDalia I would have never thought of that. :) Thank you!
There are actually other videos of this same method using the shower curtain as a barrier. Definitely not new but very well done!
Do you apply a grout sealer after grouting?
I love everything you make, it doesn’t look DIY!!!!
Can I use the shower curtain hack for the bathroom as well?
I watched your bathroom peel and stick also, and for me the grouting seems to really give a better appearance, but I don't want it to be permanent, so I will tape under the grout instead of covering the entire floor with an "underfloor." Gonna try that anyway. Thank you so much.
I was thinking of doing this to a 14ftx16ft room and we originally have hardwood floors with varnish I do not want to damage with adhesive. I am looking at the more wood style peel and stick tiles so I won't need grout. Do you thing I will have issues doing in a larger area based on your opinion if I go wall to wall I'd imagine it cant shift if its pushed against all walls. Let me know your opionion.
You did a great job! Also, you remind me of Selena Quintanilla. Youre beautiful.
Looks really good, I e
Hey Dalia!! I really want to do this, in my entryway, kitchen, and living room of my apartment. How would I be able to make this happen in a renter friendly way but also keep it sturdy?
How did the vynal tape and shower curtin work?
Hi @Dalia! How did the shower curtain underlayment method compare to the 3M vinyl tape method you used for the washroom ?
Would love to know how this is holding up and if anyone has done this and pulled it up. Would love to know how easy it comes up. Also wondering why not cover with contact paper instead of shower curtain?
Will you remove everything before moving out or will you ask the next renter if they want to keep it like this?
