I had gastric bypass surgery a year and five months ago my highest weight was 263 pounds and now I weigh 146 pounds just two weeks ago I had the skin removal surgery on my stomach🎉
@keydrahall7496 I had Gastric Bypass 1 year and 4 months ago. I was 370lbs. I'm now 221lbs and still loosing. I want to eventually have skin removal. My question is did your insurance approve of it?
@@wandamapp9032 hello that’s amazing congratulations to you on your successful journey 🎉🎉
And yes it was approved and fully covered by my insurance
@@keydrahall7496hello under what circumstances was it approved did you have rashes or infections or ?….. I had the surgery and my skin on my lower stomach sags
@@houseinvirginia199 hello yes rashes and odor told my surgeon that I did try ointment and stuff to help with the rashes and nothing helped and of course discomfort and he was so cool about it he worded it to the T so that my insurance would OK it.
@@keydrahall7496 my fupa is small and may not be as extreme as yours as everyone’s skin is different . Believe it or not I put deodorant under there 😂works fine
I had to have bypass because of my acid reflux and it was the best decision I have ever made. I’m going on two years in December and I have lost 315 lbs
Congratulations what was your highest weight
I currently have acid problems and was trying to see results from people who had it. Did you feel relief after the surgery.
@@lacarriewilks2718 yes like immediately. I did bypass because the sleeve could have made it worst. I do sometimes still have a flare up but nothing like I use too.
@@timeless_beautie9623 I was 400lbs and now I’m 147… the extra skin is what I’m battling now but I would still do it again if I had to
I have bad acid reflex but I'm gonna get b the sleeve surgery .did the dr not let you chose which surgery you wanted? How are u feeling now?
When you said “I fought to be HER” I instantly started clapping ! 👏🏽👏🏽💙 because you have worked sooo hard & you’ve came so far ! We’re so proud of you. Thank you for your authenticity & transparency throughout this journey!
This really means a lot to me. Thank you!
You are right; getting gastric bypass is NOT a guarantee to becoming slim and trim. My cousin had that surgery and she lost a lot of weight, but ended up gaining ALL of it back and then some. I admire you for your dedication and perseverance. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Thank you!
That’s my biggest worry
I’m curious as to how she was able to gain all the weight back and be alive with gastric bypass. The way that surgery works, her body wouldn’t be able to handle the intake.
You can gain back over time
@@christina678 Sorry, but I wasn't notified of your response. Over time, depending on what type of surgery you have, your stomach can stretch out and get larger even if it's not as large as it before you had surgery.
My surgery is tomorrow, and I can't wait to start this new chapter to better my health ❤
How did it go ?
How did your surgery go?
It went well thank God. I'm down 51 pounds! Nothing crazy regarding side effects for me just hard sometimes to reach my protein or water goals but that's Normal and something that can be done with planning. I can say there are days where I feel I can't eat much and then days I feel I can consume alot more.
Also want to say I am no longer pre-diabetic, and my blood pressure has been normal the times I've gone to get checked. My heaviest was 312 and my current weight is 248 🎉
@@cynthiaramirez6844 wow that’s amazing , happy for you . I’m currently 306 & I’m hoping to get this done .. I’ve tried it all lol
Girl, I felt all of that. I had gastric sleeve done 12 years ago, I lost over 100 lb. Had heartburn problems and had the revision 2 years ago. This journey is NOT easy and no magic trick. It's hard work and determination. Congratulations on your physical and emotional weight loss. ❤️
Thank you! And I’m glad you got relief from the reflux!!!
How are you doing after the revision? Any issues?
OMG... I was going back and forth about having surgery until I heard those words "it could change your PCOS". Time after time I hear the doctors say it's an uphill battle losing weight with PCOS. That spirals me every time to make unhealthy decisions. But sis thank you thank you for sharing. I'm all in for many reasons.
Same I have pcos and nothing I’m doing is helping weight loss
My friend with PCOS had a GBP 3 years ago. She is at a healthy weight now and for her, NOTHING else worked up until the surgery.
Did you end up having the surgery?
Do the surgery or it will turn into diabetes
3 months post op here 🙋🏽♀️ 40lbs down since surgery and 66lbs from my highest weight. 🎉

@@sierra4291 do you have a lot of loose skin? Do you lose weight in your legs?
Congratulations I’m 6 months post surgery I had bypass
Congrats I'm getting it in September
Sleeved Oct 2020, down 120 lbs, best thing I've ever done . Definitely fighting not feeling like I've lost enough Being a short woman, 5 ft sucks because I'm a size 8 now, but the doctor still says my bmi is too high for my height. I started weight training a year ago and have become pretty damn solid, just not small like I thought I'd eventually be.
I’m the same height currently 210lbs. I’m looking into doing this procedure. Honestly a size 8 as a dream for me. I wouldn’t take the MBI part too seriously. People’s bodies are built different. Ideally we 5ft peeps are supposed to be 120lb. To me and for ME that is too thin.
I love that you mentioned your surgeon removed less of your stomach, than other surgeons may have. I just reached out to my surgeon to see how he would handle this question. This will put me at ease a lot, because I am really afraid of the heartburn/acid reflux.
This video is a year old so you may not see this. But I giggled every time you said Next! Stop, I just had surgery last Monday. You’re making my stomach hurt. But seriously, I love this video. So much great information and it makes me excited for what’s to come. ❤❤❤
I'm so glad you mentioned taking your vitamins is important. I'm a hematology nurse practitioner and I treat a lot of patients with iron deficiency anemia & Vitamin B12 deficiency anemia after they've had gastric bypass surgery. A majority of them admit to not taking their vitamins. Others after the surgery aren't able to properly absorb nutrients. Great video. I've been a long time subscriber and enjoy videos. 🙂
I had both vitamin D and take 50.000 iu vitamin d iron pills all prescription so taking vitamins are very important
my iron & b12 levels are already low, would they be an issue if i were to get a gastric sleeve?
@@joyciesims Before getting the surgery you should see a hematology to determine the cause and treatment options available to you.
@@SuzetteRiddick thank you
I’m a hemophilia A carrier with mild to moderate factor eight deficiency. I’m wondering if I’ll be able to get the surgery.
I can’t believe it has been 3 years! I was there since day one. I now am 10 weeks post op getting VSG and I am so happy! Thanks for the update! ❤️
Where did u have it hun
I was going to skip my walk today but watching this is making me go right now.
I had mine Jan 11th and babee it is A LOT!! And just like Faye I was spiraling I was ordering food every day and just eating doing the most!! My throat is still messed up from surgery bc I had a hitial hernia and my doctor is not as attentive as I would like.... I have been in urgent care twice due to dehydration and now I am losing muscle mass bc it is so hard to eat and I vomit a lot because eating slow is a challenge and I am GRIEVING not being able to eat like I use too..... But everyone including my family is proud of me for taking control and I look healthy and I have no loose skin just a little arm flab that I need to work on and I lost my butt!! So I need to lift and get back in the gym.... But I have been watching Faye since I got home from the hospital!! She is an inspiration❤❤
It absolutely is work! I am almost 3 years post op... about 2.7 years I was over 305 lbs and I'm down to 160 lbs...alot of it is a mind game. Surgery can be a great tool but that's just it it's a tool...kudos to you for keeping at it!
Watching you has helped me deal with my own VSG journey. I had my surgery on February 29th, 2022. I'm at that point where I am bouncing back and forth from 153 to 158. (That's about 100 lbs lost so far.) I had to stop weighing myself all the time. I can't eat the multigrain bread, it's too dense and heavy on my stomach. It has to be the thin flat rounds sandwich bread or sourdough bread. I used to actually get mad that I never had the dumping issues, or vomiting. I guess I wanted something externally to make me not eat everything that I wanted to eat. But I still have a problem getting my liquids in, but I make sure I always have Gatorade Zero on hand. Thanks for helping me out on my journey. It helped me to not freak out over the perceived setbacks, and know that I am still successful. 😊 One thing that has helped me out is when I might overdo it, I remember you basically saying that you invested too much money in this to allow yourself to fail. Thank goodness I'm cheap. 😅
Next for me is hunting down a hoochie-momma dress. 😜🤪😂😂
There wasn't a leap year in 2022, so it was either February 28th or March 1st.
@@bluking4259 It was the 28th. I just know it was the end of the month, and another surgery I had was on the 29th of that particular month of the same year.
Hello my name is Arnita and I’m watching your video and I can truly say that you are on points with everything. I am 7 months out from RNY Gastric Bypass. It some adjustment to get used to. I learning every day. I’m 57 years of age when I decided to get my WLS. I’m down 66 pounds since surgery and working on me daily. I went to weight watchers and loss 70 pounds but they changed the program and I started gaining weight again. I’m making sure I stay hydrated and on top of my vitamins daily. I didn’t lose much hair and I’m so grateful for that. Loose I’m start to notice that because I was 320 off and I believe I was between 253-256 day of surgery. My total weight loss all together is 136. My goal weight is 150 as of today 199. I will continued to press on with my weight loss journey. Thanks for sharing your experience with your gastric sleeve journey.
Only thing I regret I didn’t do it sooner !!!! 🥳🥳🥳🥳 amen sista!!!!

I really appreciate this video. Especially from you because I’ve always watched your hair videos. I’ve lost 10lbs in a month on wegovy, but it’s so hard to get. I’m looking for lasting change I’ve been working so hard. It’s good to hear you had a baby and still able to bounce back. I was worried about doing the surgery, having kids, then not being able to lose the weight again. That’s always been a struggle for me!

Also I want to share about them chicken wings you like I never heard of them before, but you may already know this Cauliflower is your best friend when it comes to chicken wing substitute especially if you season it right. Fresh cauliflower has that right texture you want, and that amazing bite, and chew that mimics chicken. I don't eat much meat simply because I am not a big meat eater, but I came across Aeyesha Curry's Cauliflower Buffalo Wing recipe, and it's amazing!!! I highly recommend using her recipe which is found on Food Network it's called Cauliflower Hot Wings Buttermilk Ranch Dressing Sauce I just made the cauliflower, but used my favorite ranch dressing, and it was a game changer!!
