Thanks for the Sub I kind of post randomly here and there of whatever I feel but I will bring a vid out soon on my Custom Trucks I made. But yeah I noticed no one really talked about these custom Annie & Clarabel so I thought I would cover mine
Glad to see another modeller has made these, I did pretty much the same thing with Annie & Clarabel except for the chassis I used the new Hornby 4 wheeler coaches as I like the NEM couplings more. Further to it I had the battery powered Thomas shell too when I purchased Annie and Clarabel so I converted him into a model as well, all I had to do was to stick him onto a Toby chassis though I had to get some metal bits dremelled off (but a Hornby Terrier chassis, the older one, will work just as well, probably better) and voila, much nicer models
Thanks man, I see a lot of people have online as they look great! And do the new four wheeler chassis fit better at all? I got the Thomas but I kept it as it is but maybe one day I might try and give him a proper chassis
@@mralfpit the new four wheeler chassis do fit really well, basically exactly the same length as yours, the only difference is the footstep along the bottom so they actually look more like real carriages. I did super glue them in place and you wouldn't even think they were toys originally, they look SO GOOD
@@TomDavias yeah the chassis would look great with it as the body of Annie and Clarabel look so good. I would love to see a picture of them. You should make a video of them, a few shots of Thomas pulling them or something. Would love to see them 👌
@@mralfpit I don't make UA-cam videos anymore, not after my old channel got 3 strikes and taken down, but if you follow me on Twitter I can DM you pictures and videos if you like? I'm @ThomasDavias
Wow these look awesome! Here’s one I’ve always wondered: what about putting an 0-6-0 chassis inside Hornby’s 0-4-0 Thomas? I like the proportions of the 0-4-0 Thomas better but obviously the wheel configuration ruins it. I’ve always wondered if a modification like that was possible.
@@mralfpit Ohhh...! Now there's an idea. 'Cause the wheelbase is shorter than the Hornby Thomas'. Hmmmm.... And the Hornby Toby even has coupling rods, I know that much. I wonder...
how were you able to get the roof of them? i just completely destroyed my clarabel's roof trying to get it off and had to buy a new one. i saw in a previous comment you said there were clips which i did see and tried to undo but they just wouldn't budge. do you have any advice?
I'm sure I used a small flat head to try and nudge the roof out while also pushing in the clips so the roof can slide off. I hope this helps, It was a while ago now so I've forgotten the small details. Let me know if this works for you.
looks like ive got to look into this method :P never even thought about trying those chassis, and ive been trying to figure out a plausible chassis option for years :P
Yeah I thought that, Hornby went all out of their way to design them for the battery set when they could have just used the Caledonian ones. So why not make them for the Electric Thomas range😂
This is a custom I have been trying to figure out forever! thank you so much for posting this video. I will subscribe immediately!

Amazing custom😀👍
I think the long coaches make the e2 thomas in place
Yeah I agree
ive herard the fit perfeclty on bachmann annie/clarabell chassis
Sounds Cool, would love to see someone else attempt this!

Thank you! I have seen a converted Thomas. I think people use Hornby or Bachman’s Toby chassis

Their Cheap to get a hold of too!
where did you get the shell tanker?
From EBay but Hornby still do sell the same Tanker models through their Railroad Range
ok
might try and extend the chassis
Looks great. Can I ask, how did you take the roof off please?
If you look carefully at the windows you will see little clips, you need to push them in and raise the roof. Hope this helps
They have nice faces
This is what Annie and Clarabel should’ve looked like rather than just a lazy Re-Skin of the Caledonian Coaches
