My God that is beautiful... Anyone who has ever loved, and lost, needs a time out after hearing this deep, heartbreaking musical gift to humanity. Thank you Mr. Scaggs and all your musicians for creating such a wonderful thing.
One of the most beautiful love songs ever, perfectly executed. So subtle vocalisation by Boz, just caressing the lyrics. All the musicians clearly feeling the groove and then topped off by truly heavenly voices from the girls. Perfect.
I lost my son Derek 6 years ago at age of 24. My heart was broken and I try to make sense of it all. There are events in our lives that we will never understand, beyond our compression. I love you son and miss you beyond words could ever convey. We will be together one day in heaven.
It’s early In all this, my friends. Healing is a process not a product. *There’s no “right way” or “wrong way” to walk around with a shattered heart.* If you had a wonderful partner-not a euphoric recall, simply your Truth-allow your Truth to wash over you like a gentle wave. How fortunate we have been, eh?! How devastating these memories. Hugs to all. You may not see us but we are walking beside you.
I met my wife when she was 18 - I was stunned, and said to myself - I'm gonna marry you one day, and I did. After 31 years of joy and passion, she passed, aged 49 from cancer - and that was 8 years ago. I hurt every day - without a lie. I know that some can move on and have another partner, and that's fantastic. I feel for those that have lost children - that's not meant to happen. But I find some comfort in having a few quiet beers, and listening to awesome music like this. Ka Kite All.
The magic and emotion felt make this Boz Skagg's signature song for me. It makes me feel sad for love lost in the past while filled with joy and hope for the future ❤

I met my wife in February of 1977, before this song was even written. We were engaged on 5-27-77 and married on 9-10-77. I met her while she was a cashier at a Regal gas station one cold nite. I saw her eyes, like fire in the night and asked her out right there, after seeing the moon, she was the one.. We did get crazy all night long, many times! The rest is history. We started out poor, me 21 her 20, we have done very well together. We both have had our bout with cancer, she is still fighting her lymphoma and always will at this point. This song could have been written for us. It is our favorite Boz song. Look what you've done to me........

I just got chills to the bottom of my soul from those two beautiful backup singers. God surely has blessed them. What a beautiful thing to witness. Thank you for putting up this video. I'm just a widow with cancer trying to make it through. Sincerely, Carly 💙
Ms. Carly, it’s been a year since your comment and I hope your health has improved and you’re in remission. You’re not “just” anything: You’re everything to somebody even if their physical presence is no longer visible next to you. The people we love really never do die. They live on in our hearts and souls until our last breath. I became a widow 30 years ago so I’ve had some practice at widow-ing and that’s the lesson I’ve learned. Best wishes, please take care of you: *You matter.*

From the movie, Urban Cowboy produced and written in just one night for a specific scene. David Foster and Boz Skaggs came up with a real gem in such a short notice that became one of my all time favorite romantic songs. Urban Cowboy is still very relevant in today's relationships and is a must see classic movie. This song has emotional substance and impact that is difficult to match.
@@sweetfreedomGB So true. I too am 59, I still pray for him to come into my life. I thought I found him, an old boyfriend came back into my life, but I was 6 months too late, sometimes it's not meant to be.:(
Falling in love is so very powerful yes chills, butterflies don't forget the eye contact the touch it's so incredibly. I can keep going it's so great and hot.
This is one of the most beautiful songs ever made.I am so glad to be a Baby Boomer and was able to hear music like this absolute beautiful song! Generations to come will come to appreciate what us boomers already know!
To think, Boz started as a rhythm guitar player with Steve Miller....... his success as a solo artist, with awesome songs like this - speaks for itself.
I think you're right. You always know it's him because of this distinct smoothness. You believe he's in love with you when you hear him and watch him sing these lyrics. It's in his face and those vocal cords. Not sure I'm comfortable when a guy can make you feel that much with a song.
My wife and I danced to this song oh so many nights while dating. It has remained a favorite song of mine for these last 38 years. Still married and still dance to this one. :)
+Al Dodson.. Bravo , to you and your wife for remaining happily married after many years. You've both accomplished what many fail at..it's so refreshing to see this .
+Serenityy S Thank you, but it's easy if you go into a relationship with the understanding that both must give 150%, don't go to sleep angry, talk, relay what you are feeling, share, care deeply and love one another with all that you can muster. Sounds hard, but really simple. It's what we all should be.
One of the most beautiful love longs of all time, IMO. Every time I hear it, after all these years, still brings tears to my eyes and remembrance to my heart. I miss you Mr. Don, my beloved, passed in 2012.
One thousand "Dislikes"??? Maybe it's the one thousand people who have never been in love. Okay, this song may not be one thousand people's cup of tea, but it still is a very very beautiful song!!
I will like and like and like and like until those dislikes disappear. These are the days of beautiful lyrics, clear tuning, exquisite vocals. Music that relayed clearest of thought. I am 71 and a hard core rock fan… but love music.. that’s the true true. Thank you Boz, for everything.
I'd be honored if some Steely Dan & Boz Scaggs fans would take a listen to my live piano & vocal performances of JOSIE and WE'RE ALL ALONE on my YT channel in tribute to the masters of late 70s groove. Live acoustic with no digital editing. Thanks and peace.
We met at 10 years old married in 1975 at 16, 44 years of marriage this May 15 we have had some serious up and downs health issues among other things 3 children 7 grandchildren. They are my life!!!
Paul Malmstrom you are so right. The most romantic song. My boyfriend and I used to dance to this all the time!.. Like a dummy I broke up with him and married someone else.. What a mistake that was! Ended up divorced and the love of my life married someone else!
Something in this song touches me. It could be Boz's voice, the lyrics, the music. Not sure, but it makes me think of lonely, rainy nights, spent wishing for someone to love.
Lost my husband of 52 Yrs in July my heart is broken but. I realize how blessed I was.to have had him that long I listen to this song when ever Im feeling sad! He was & will always be The Love Of My Life! The one thing that gives me comfort is that he is in Heaven & I will see him again😢❤❤❤
What a Classic!! Such a lovely song… Who hasnt felt this way once?!… Songs, singers and musicians like these are seldom seen and heard nowadays… such a difference music of yesterday to the one today… ❤️❤️❤️
We lived in special air in time. Now that we think back we know how special it really was. From Motown to rock and roll rhythm and blues folk. Yes Crosby stills and Nash and Young America The Beach boys Diana Ross and the pips all the way from Edgar Winter to Gary wright and the list goes on and on.
1977..... The year I met you Maryann. I remember it like yesterday. Gosh, I was soo in love with you. And now you're gone. I hope you know that till this day, I still love you.....
...I've had the distinct pleasure of seeing this Gentleman in Concert, several times at various times in my life.... ( I'm now in my late 60's....) He always brought the House down.... Absolutely Outstanding, ...just Outstanding. ..he is unpretentious, genuine and it comes across every single time....every performance. 🎶🎼🎵✨️✨️
Every time I hear this sound my mind takes me back to Gilly’s in Texas. I was never there, but I loved Urban Cowboy. One of my all time favorite movies. Amazing soundtrack. This song was one of the best on it.
This song was my wedding dance song with my then wife.Aug 2005 .this song had so much meaning to me but she had to leave.broke my heart still to this day when I hear this song I still get choked up....
I used to listen to this song on the radio my step Dad bought for me. I never had that great love that is in the Song, but it reminds me of how blessed I was to have a step Dad that loved me.
I met her when I was 14 and I loved Anne all through high school. After graduation she left me for another. She even invited me to her wedding, knowing that I could not go. But I did go, and sat in my car crying in the distance where I saw the most beautiful golden angel in white walk down the steps of the church, and walk out of my life forever. Years and decades passed and one day, many years later, she did come back to me to tell me she was getting a divorce, and how sorry she was about us. But she had changed and so had I and we were different people. The world had changed and nothing was the same as before and we knew we could not go back. They found her at home, alone, dead of an overdose. As I place flowers on your grave today Anne I hope somehow you know how much I loved you. RIP.
Well James, I now have tears in my eyes, this is very emotional heartbreaking story. But at least you still loved and cared for Anne enough, to put flowers on her grave, in remembrance and honour, for both you and Anne's love.
Love--Love--Love this, so tenderly and exquisitely sung. And Barbara and Monet bring absolute perfection at the end. It's the most romantic song in the world!
The man with the silky voice. Have been a big fan since the silk degrees album. Got to see him in concert one time and he was great. His music is so timeless. Thanks for the beautiful music and great memories 👍👍😊
saw this man in Rochester at the International Jazz fest about 4 years ago. Loved his music but this concert was absolutely AMAZING! catch this man in concert when you can. it will be an eye opener to see how amazingly talented this man is. (BTW I've seen the "greats and he is part of them")
one of the coolest, smoothest & (definitely) under-rated performers of the 70s & 80s. the man still has it today. i'm lucky to have seen him twice. LEGENDARY in my book.
So lucky to have been coming up in the 70’s , with all this great music & bands . I was a huge Boz Scaggs fan . He actually sounds better here live & later , than on the album IMO. Bravo Boz & accompaniment

Never gets old hearing this absolutely beautiful ballad
I think I first heard this while watching the movie urban cowboy. Probably my favorite song . Timeless
Falling in love at age 59 brought me here!! This performance elicits butterflies and chills. Powerful!!💗💗💗
Falling in love never will get old with right person!
Dana you are one of the lucky ones
@@sweetfreedomGB So true. I too am 59, I still pray for him to come into my life. I thought I found him, an old boyfriend came back into my life, but I was 6 months too late, sometimes it's not meant to be.:(
Falling in love is so very powerful yes chills, butterflies don't forget the eye contact the touch it's so incredibly. I can keep going it's so great and hot.
not yet one day!
This song takes me back to a simpler time..being young and in love
Yes indeed :)
Me too
Memories of 8 tracks..and Boz..so sweet
Yup, no doubt.
Yes. Very much in love.
This is one of the most beautiful songs ever made.I am so glad to be a Baby Boomer and was able to hear music like this absolute beautiful song! Generations to come will come to appreciate what us boomers already know!
Some of the most beautiful songs that have lasted and “covered” by many artists as classics are from our boomer era
To think, Boz started as a rhythm guitar player with Steve Miller....... his success as a solo artist, with awesome songs like this - speaks for itself.
Silk Degrees was (and is) as good as it gets.
Oh God how I loved and continue to love this song. So beautiful. smooth voice of Boz Scaggs. Timeless all these years later.
Ah, Boz Scaggs. Those were the days when we had real music and romance. Not screeching and cursing.
Agreed
So right!
Amen
Very true!

From high school to 2023...... Love this song..... no longer do we make simple powerful love songs
This one always gets me to the heart . What a great song and group of musicians . Boz Scaggs had so much soul.
I absolutely love this song.
Me too!!!
One of the best love songs ever written and Boz Scaggs is a legend!!!
is it me or has his voice become even more expressive?
I think you're right. You always know it's him because of this distinct smoothness. You believe he's in love with you when you hear him and watch him sing these lyrics. It's in his face and those vocal cords. Not sure I'm comfortable when a guy can make you feel that much with a song.
Hes taken care of it. It's richer, enriched, you are correct!
Such good music bos just love it
My wife and I danced to this song oh so many nights while dating. It has remained a favorite song of mine for these last 38 years. Still married and still dance to this one. :)
+Al Dodson very cool. congrats. nice to hear there is true love still in existance. Hugs to you and your wife.
+Al Dodson ..Simplicity's the key to immense inner peace , I wish you a Blessed day.
+Al Dodson sweetest thing I've heard in a long time what you just said!! brings tears to my eyes. Congrats on your love
We live in a messed up world. Satan has done a real work on it. Christ Jesus will come back, though, and set it right. Maranatha!
Don’t waste your time on those people. No appreciation.
I consider the "non likers" non musical. That's the only explanation......
reina coffee ignore them, we know better!
1k dislikes is sure a fan of vice Ganda songs.
I will like and like and like and like until those dislikes disappear. These are the days of beautiful lyrics, clear tuning, exquisite vocals. Music that relayed clearest of thought. I am 71 and a hard core rock fan… but love music.. that’s the true true. Thank you Boz, for everything.
What was really cool about the seventies is everybody cared about each other.....
well mostly except the friends that stole your chic or tryed to
Got that one right!
So true so true the '60s gave birth to the seventies that we just cared about each other watched each other's back genuine friendship.
This is just not true
No one sings like Boz. So silky smooth. My all time favorite.
Still watching this video in 2019 and it still blows me 100% away. That should have been released as a single.
I LOVE this song. Have for decades!!!
From Urban cowboy soundtrack. 1980....it was Big hit, produced by David Foster.
i feel it deep in my heart and soul
I remember this song. I've always loved it. Takes me back to days that were actually good. Us born in the 50s -60s and 70s were so fortunate.
We met at 10 years old married in 1975 at 16, 44 years of marriage this May 15 we have had some serious up and downs health issues among other things 3 children 7 grandchildren. They are my life!!!
Congrats! 33yrs here!
Thanks for sharing; I am very happy for your and your wife for having such a long marriage.
Got to be one of the most romantic songs of all times.
Paul Malmstrom you are so right. The most romantic song. My boyfriend and I used to dance to this all the time!.. Like a dummy I broke up with him and married someone else.. What a mistake that was! Ended up divorced and the love of my life married someone else!
❤❤❤
Always will be the best Couples Song
i agree
Love the song. Another is Slow Dancing by Johnny Rivers. Check it out if you don't know it.
So glad I was around in the 70s. Best music ever!
This is the best love song ever. Ever. It moves me to tears every time I hear it. And I have heard it a lot over the years.
❤❤❤
Something in this song touches me. It could be Boz's voice, the lyrics, the music. Not sure, but it makes me think of lonely, rainy nights, spent wishing for someone to love.
I think it is a specific love he sings to. So good!
Lost my husband of 52
Yrs in July my heart is broken but.
One of the pioneers of soft soul jazz..a timeless music that will never become old..nostalgia will never allow this to die..just love it...
The beauty of UA-cam. A few clicks away and I'm taken back to music I loved back in the day. Timeless. Good job Box.
Need more action not bull shlt from bull shitters
My sentiments exactly. Even though UA-cam is controlled by a bunch of Liberals at Google, it is still a great medium for reminiscing about past music.
horse4you if I could only have one website forever it would be UA-cam 💓
horse4you should try to get some sleep, it’s getting late.
Ong, exactly. Wouldn't have it any other way
Everytime I listen this song I drop a tear. Does anybody do the same?
Yep. Afraid so my friend.
Oh, yes.
I'm with you 💯percent 😪😪
oh yes - many tears.
I think it’s wonderful that Boz features his backup singers front and center.
1977..... The year I met you Maryann. I remember it like yesterday. Gosh, I was soo in love with you. And now you're gone. I hope you know that till this day, I still love you.....
Brings tears to my eyes every time I hear this... Boz Scaggs is a legend..
Those negative people don't really know good music. This is such a wonderful song. It's got so much feeling and compassion. I love Boz Scaggs songs.
...I've had the distinct pleasure of seeing this Gentleman in Concert, several times at various times in my life.... ( I'm now in my late 60's....) He always brought the House down.... Absolutely Outstanding, ...just Outstanding. ..he is unpretentious, genuine and it comes across every single time....every performance.
🎶🎼🎵✨️✨️

Those backing singers at the end!!!! WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!! (Great song and performance too)
Only certain intelligence can appreciate 70's Z& 80's music. Our best music is in our past.
Every time I hear this sound my mind takes me back to Gilly’s in Texas. I was never there, but I loved Urban Cowboy. One of my all time favorite movies. Amazing soundtrack. This song was one of the best on it.
I have listened to this song thousands of times and it still to this day sends chills down my spine! IMPECCABLE!
Holy holy Hell!! So magnificently done by his majestic voice n them sweet ladies in the background... AMAZING!! DOES it get any better??!??!!? 💓💜💓

A passionate, warm romantic classic from this legendary singer.

Very True!
He's a great songwriter/singer and a fine musician who is often overlooked.
Just saw Boz at the Fox Theater in Atlanta. Great show and he still performs this song magically. Beautiful, his voice is amazing! Thank you, Boz
I used to listen to this song on the radio my step Dad bought for me. I never had that great love that is in the Song, but it reminds me of how blessed I was to have a step Dad that loved me.
One of the most personally expressive songs. Who could not relate. Always brings a tear
Such a phenomenal song!! ❣️❣️ Still.... 2019!!
I just stop an listen. Love is great thru a song!
And the first day of 2022
This is one of the most beautiful songs ever. Great preformance.
How precious is that? I'd DIE to see Boz Scaggs live.
I can play this song until my phone runs out of power, what of the best singer , i am lucky to hear this in my lifetime...thank you for sharing.....
RIP.
that's a sad story sorry for your loss
Now at 60 years of age i know that life is about "Love and Loss."
God, I am so sorry for your loss.
So sad. Sorry for your loss.
Well James, I now have tears in my eyes, this is very emotional heartbreaking story. But at least you still loved and cared for Anne enough, to put flowers on her grave, in remembrance and honour, for both you and Anne's love.
arrangements on this is unbelievable, and the back up singers are incredible... 💯
This is my favorite version of this song. Beautiful! ❤❤❤
Love--Love--Love this, so tenderly and exquisitely sung. And Barbara and Monet bring absolute perfection at the end. It's the most romantic song in the world!
It touches the very essence of love, my soul. Remarkable song. Never get tired of listening it. It opens up my heart.
chris russo You’re right this song hits the soul , truly remarkable
I love it !!
is that Chris Russo from Penn '92?
WOW this is no doubt one of the most beautiful song ever recorded !!
You are liking this song more than..."Maria Bonito's Taco is so Sweeto"?
The man with the silky voice. Have been a big fan since the silk degrees album. Got to see him in concert one time and he was great. His music is so timeless. Thanks for the beautiful music and great memories 👍👍😊
I am so fortunate and Blessed to be on this journey again, taking (us) back in time to 1975.
Boz is going w me!!
having a glass of wine...listening to the great boz and remembering when i was young and in love...the time flies so fast....
Loved Boz since the 70s, still listening in December 2019 💝
I'm still listening to this song in April 13 2020 9:55 morning now he is a good to dance to by anne murray Could I Have This Dance i love it💖💖💖💖💖
I wood love to dance to this song and hold my baby real close to me so I can feel her heart beating guest my chest 💖💖💃🏃🌹
saw this man in Rochester at the International Jazz fest about 4 years ago. Loved his music but this concert was absolutely AMAZING! catch this man in concert when you can. it will be an eye opener to see how amazingly talented this man is. (BTW I've seen the "greats and he is part of them")
This song is timeless and so under rated. I love Boz Scaggs's music when I first heard it and still do.
one of the coolest, smoothest & (definitely) under-rated performers of the 70s & 80s. the man still has it today. i'm lucky to have seen him twice. LEGENDARY in my book.
I AGREED HE'S WONDERFUL!
So lucky to have been coming up in the 70’s , with all this great music & bands . I was a huge Boz Scaggs fan . He actually sounds better here live & later , than on the album IMO. Bravo Boz & accompaniment
It's 10/23/2023...and Mis Monet singing backup here with Boz is now on The Voice, and sounding just as beautiful!! Thanks for staying with it, girl!!!
