I met my present wife in 1981 and in 1990 we married , both for the second time, and this is THE SONG we danced to all night long. I am now her caregiver as she has Alzheimers. She is non-verbal at this point, but when I put on the tunes she communicates to me with her beautiful eyes. She knows...... I cried this entire reaction, yes Marines do cry, Thanks BR
Ohhh, BR. Well,, that story made me cry for both of you! I’m so very sorry, that this scourge, of a disease has invaded your joy! I’m glad, this song, from Boz, is a way of communicating between you and your loving wife. It’s said the eyes are the windows to our souls, and wonderful music can be soothing to the spirit. Stay Well, Sir.
Boz Scaggs is another example of Blue Eyed Soul. I love this concert as he sings all of his hits throughout this concert. 'Look What You've Done to Me' was one of Scaggs' biggest hits from the Urban Cowboy soundtrack (1980)
Bozz's voice is not like soft butter or like honey. It is like peanut butter with honey. Just the right mix and texture. Steve Miller and Bozz Scaggs were classmates in Dallas, my hometown. Love them both
Jack Nicholson noted, in his hey day, that whenever he entertained a woman he always had Boz Scaggs music playing in the back ground. It worked for him. When Boz sings it's like butter. So smooth. He went to high school with Steve Miller and they started their first band together then. He is a prolific songwriter and seeing him in concert is a treat. Please keep exploring this rabbit hole as there are many more treasures to discover. And the two ladies at the end, Barbara and Monet, were quite the surprise.
As a sax player, I have to say that up until you made the analogy, I never would have made the connection, but once you did it is just clicked. Yep, you nailed it. His voice like a smooth, mellow saxophone.
Boz is amazing. He has so much good stuff, and I think this is an incredibly deep dive. I love it. He started as a guitar player with Steve Miller Band, and his first couple albums, it was the Steve Miller Band (- Steve) in the studio. Still out there doing his thing. Thanks for this.
When the band comes in and fills the stage it's like the sun coming up. The calm and quiet of early morning twilight begins to give way to the dawn and the world wakes up all around filling the air with sounds and movement and life.
After all the years of hearing his music, I never get tired of it. Now I'm going to find my old CD it's called silk degrees; I get very emotional when I hear any of his songs. I only came on here to listen to, we are all alone, now three hours later I'm still listening and watching other people's reactions.
Great reaction Britt! Hello from Alberta, Canada! I've been waiting for more to react to this song! The lady singers at the end finishes it off, beautifully!
I’ve been a Boz Scaggs fan for many years, he has a percussion or unplugged version, amazing, and I’ve heard those two gals many times in my patio listening to his music. Silk Degrees, one of his best albums, check it out. Much love ❤️
Boz Scaggs is a legend. One of a kind with his unique one of a kind sound. Really liking your showing your viewers who might not have been familiar with them how great talent like Billy Joel, Bonnie Raitt, and Boz Scaggs are. Chances are, if they didn't know them and weren't fans before, they are now. Your reactions don't exactly hurt that. Great as always. Thank you.
Absolutely love Boz Scaggs! Unfortunately I listened to him at an extremely difficult period of my life,so hearing this song makes my heart ache in a very different way…strange(and usually wonderful!) thing about music! Love your reaction,Britt, and your comparison to a saxophone (my favorite brass instrument)🎷❤️
Boz Scaggs songs are timeless. Even many years later, they evoke such emotions that songs of today can’t match. Sultry and soulful. His voice now still powerful. Give a listen to these songs when they were first performed too. Silky smooth…unforgettable. You can understand why he was a superstar and a legend, then and now. Love your reaction, especially to older music. ❤️
Boz could just stand there and do nothing and be amazing ❤ He is so great in concert. Thank you for reacting to this song, one of his best. I love your comparison to his voice and the saxophone. I suggest listening to the song Sierra.
His backup singers are absolutely incredible! Monet is just so special. She sang backing vocals for many, many other great artists throughout her career as well. Boz Scaggs is utter perfection ❣️
This soulful tune is an ethereal connection I had to a great love of my life, who died in 1993. This song always lifts me back to those special moments. For me, it is a melancholy sojourn to memories of wonderful days and magical nights.
"We're All Alone" is my favorite Boz Scaggs song. Which had two amazing versions, Boz's and Rita Coolidge at around the same time in 1977, but was originally recorded by Frankie Valli in 1976. I love Boz's version the most, the string arrangement alone on the studio recording is what makes the song! Add his smooth vocals that climb to amazing heights...it's chef's kiss!
Boz Scaggs covers 40 years of music here in the US starting with Steve Miller Band and striking out on his own.His work includes work with Booker T & the MGs including Steve Cropper formed as the house band of Stax Records, providing backing music for numerous singers, including Wilson Pickett and Otis Redding His first two albums go back to 1969 and 70 and were just titled Boz Scaggs, and his Slow Dancer were early albums. He left the US for some tours in England and around the area and came back and releases Silk Degrees and this song. "Slowdancer" is a real hit from one of his early albums but here is alive version a few years back. "As the Years Go Passing By " Boz Scaggs-Booker T and The MG's "Runnin Blue" Boz Scaggs 1971 " Cadillac Walk" Memphis Album 2013 "Moments" or "Painted Bells" from Moments Album "Loan me a Dime" featuring Duane Allman
Boz is always great ballades like "We're All Alone", "“What’s New”", "We Were Always Sweethearts". he's just classy and smooth songs like "JoJo" and "Lowdown" really well known but my fave is the rocker "Breakdown Dead Ahead"... he's just has that jazzy class in everything he does. btw... you know he was in Steve Miller's band in the late 60's.
Again... Another no name that just came out of nowhere, in the mid 70s. " Ledo Shuffle." Was one of his early Pop tunes, but the piece that brought him to the forefront was the song; " Dirty Lowdown. " That is my number One Bozz Scaggs tune. "Look what you've done to me, is my second favorite. This song holds a special place in my heart, as one of those I used to hear on late night radio in the dead of winter. Laying in bed with the winter winds howling outside, rattling the windows in the frame, keeping warm inside listening to the sounds of Boz in my darkened room, lighted only by the stereo dial and stereo components lighting up the room.
I’ve heard Boz Skaggs tell the story of what influenced him to pursue a career in music. When he was young his father took him to see Ray Charles perform. He enjoyed it immensely and he wanted to sing like Ray.
If you’re talking about lowdown he performed it on this concert,a tribute to Boz Scaggs greatest hits in 2004. You should check it out at some point. If I remember right the backup singers on the album didn’t do the solo at the end like this, I believe this was Boz giving them the spotlight because he probably heard them singing it in practice and loved it.
He has such a great voice. One of my favorite songs of his. His song Harbor Lights is also one of my favorites. He has so many great songs. Very easy to get lost in his music.
I've heard this version many times and as a lover of the saxophone I would agree. It's like a symphony of orchestrated pleasures combined with an awesome falsetto to really compliment it.
Love it. He's fantastic. I agree with what your saying. It also sounds as if he's actually singing to ME!!Love it...totally captivating. Don't need to find something to connect to from the past. It's all here in Boz's song and music. Right Now.
I haven't listened to this song in a few years but I was feeling pretty ill and I wanted to listen to my all time favorite collection and this was right up there... How he's entire album called ''silk degrees'' was full of these musical gems / massive hits
I saw him in concert in 1977 or 78, the Silk Degrees tour. It was one of the most mellow and chilled out concerts I've ever been too. 77 and 78 were the best years for concerts ever in New zealand. Over 18 months I went to Boz Scaggs, The Doobie Brothers, Fleetwood Mac, Bob Marley and The Wailers, Stevie Wonder, The Eagles and The Rolling Stones concerts. It was incredible. The best thing was, I lived 2 miles from the arena so I just walked there.
This song is on the soundtrack to the movie Urban Cowboy an American Classic that had a huge influence on the early 80s kids. Everyone was sporting a Cowboy hat after seeing the movie. And the soundtrack was excellent. You should watch the movie sometime I think you will enjoy it.
So good. He wrote this song for the movie Urban Cowboy starring John Travolta and Debra Winger. 1980, at the height of country western line dancing and mechanical bull riding.
I was 19 when this was released. I fell in love with it as soon as I heard and listen to it even to this day. Boz Scaggs is definitely one of my favourite artists ❤❤
Your comparison of the saxophone to his voice was brilliant !!! Now I will never be able to un-hear it. Every time I listen to someone play sax - I will hear his voice in the background and visa versa.
I'm a little late to the party but gotta say, perfect analogy explained perfectly. Boz Scaggs voice = saxophone. Beautifully on point! And may I add the sax when played right has a sound that feels like it's being pulled from the soul. I say pulled because it has a raw, unpolished sincerity to it..
In the mid nineteen seventies his music was all over the streets of NYC. Everyone had a radio and Boz was coming out of every bodega and every bar. He was the white Al Green.
Love how Boz lets the girls put the exclamation mark at the end of this BEAUTIFUL love song. Barbara and Monet are simply AWESOME! This whole show at the Great American Music Hall is a masterpiece, well worth watching!
I met my present wife in 1981 and in 1990 we married , both for the second time, and this is THE SONG we danced to all night long. I am now her caregiver as she has Alzheimers. One of the most beautiful songs ever written. Music, lyrics, vocal performance.......Perfection! ❤
You can’t beat the music and talent back in those days. So lucky I got to experience real music.
After all these years, Boz still "has it." One of my favorites by him. Such an incredibly romantic song. Both of the backup singers are awesome too.
Yes, most definitely! Lido Shuffle is another great song
One of the most beautiful ballads ever recorded.
Bozz's voice is not like soft butter or like honey. It is like peanut butter with honey. Just the right mix and texture. Steve Miller and Bozz Scaggs were classmates in Dallas, my hometown. Love them both

Yes!! She nailed it!
Yes, Boz and Anita Baker Sax voice book ends.
I saw it coming because I've listened to it many times! I couldn't wait for your reaction. Priceless!!!
Sultry & Soulful!!! Sung by a man with all of his senses!!! Gentle, passionate, climactic! LOVE THIS SONG, & THE SOUND OF BOZZ's VOICE!!!
Boz is amazing. He has so much good stuff, and I think this is an incredibly deep dive. I love it.

My dad was born in 1926, big band era and such, he absolutely loved Boz Scaggs.
Your expressions are spot on girl. You make every song come to life!! Love your show.❤
This is one of his most beautiful songs ❤
Boz Skags is awesome! He has some fantastic music! Such a bluesy voice!!!!
I have never heard anyone describe Boz Scaggs the way you did, but it was perfect.
Boz Scaggs has one of the smoothest most soulful voices and this live version is as close to perfection as can be. Monet's voice is otherworldy.
Wonderful reaction. This performance is gold.
Saw Boz last summer and he was fantastic. Yes his voice has changed a bit over the years but he still has the magic !!!
When the band comes in and fills the stage it's like the sun coming up. The calm and quiet of early morning twilight begins to give way to the dawn and the world wakes up all around filling the air with sounds and movement and life.
Boz Skaggs a master class in musicianship ❤
Totally agree with you! What more do I need to hear? Love, look what you've done to me...❤
Perfect song. Simply amazing.

This song is pure magic ❤ such a classic. Beautifully written and performed ❤
Boz !!...soul with a pinch of jazz.
Saw him in the late 70's. Put on a hell of a concert. Listen to the song "Georgia" to hear his range.
Harbor Lights, Georgia, Jojo, It’s Over, Miss Sun, We’re All Alone, and What Can I Say.
Absolutely love Boz Scaggs! Unfortunately I listened to him at an extremely difficult period of my life,so hearing this song makes my heart ache in a very different way…strange(and usually wonderful!) thing about music! His voice has changed as he's aged, but he still brings a great cool soulful vibe.
bippity boppity
His backup singers are absolutely incredible! Monet is just so special. She sang backing vocals for many, many other great artists throughout her career as well. Boz Scaggs is utter perfection ❣️
This may be mentioned in one of the previous comments, but this song was made famous in the movie Urban Cowboy. Highly recommend you watch it!
You should watch that whole live concert!!! It is awesome!!❤
Britt that has to be one of the best compliments any musician could get, well deserved ,you know your music
Honestly, that last bit brought a tear to my eye. Wowzers.
Chills, nothing but chills every time I hear this song.
'Harbor Lights' from the same concert is also a great song. Love your reactions!
Love Boz. Use to go see him here in Dallas at Mother Blues club in the 70's.
Those back up singers are amazing
This soulful tune is an ethereal connection I had to a great love of my life, who died in 1993. This song always lifts me back to those special moments. For me, it is a melancholy sojourn to memories of wonderful days and magical nights.

Boz Scaggs, the Sax in Beauty snd the Beast! Yes!!🎉
Those two backup singers are angels on earth.
That piano player has one of the best piano solos I've ever seen on "Harbour Lights" from this same DVD, Britt.
If you want to hear a blues masterpiece you should check out his version of "Loan Me a Dime " with Duane Allman.
Boz is one of my favorites of all time!! There are so many songs to really even pick one.But I've always loved "Miss Sun",I'm sure you will too
Saw him last year at smaller venue in Nashua, New Hampshire.
