Neat tutorial. Just one thing: I think that "normal" distribution refers to Gaussian distribution, whereas you get a lot of mid-sized segments, a few tiny ones and a few big ones.
Great video as usual. Thanks nick! Is there a way to break a wall with an object but keep whatever shape I'm breaking with (say a logo) to show it on the wall in its shape?
Great intro to this new feature! Thanks a ton! Hey have you guys had what seems like a random occurrence where the Voronoi Fracture makes the fragments into just outer faces with no solid depth? I didn't have "Hull only" or "Hollow Object" selected...just the default settings, and there was no internal faces giving it that "solid chunks" look. I even created a default Voronoi, dropped in a cube, adjusted the "Offset Fragments" and saw there was no internal structure. Then created another...no changes to the settings...dropped in a cube...then adjusted the "Offset" and it had internal faces! Kinda crazy...may be a glitch, but was curious if it's just me? :)
@@Greyscalegorilla I seen many tutorials for AE where they use ground cracks that have already been created. However I should like to know how to create them or atleast get an idea how I can do it. One example is this guide ua-cam.com/video/Wlqgd7NmriA/v-deo.html where the find diffrent cracks on a site. But I should like to be able to create it myself. I have not found any tutorials about that. Should also be intressting to create other effects, that can be used in AE.
if i have a object i sliced up with the knife tool is there anyway i can put it in the voroni to make all the slices have inside geometry and not just be hollow?
hi, i was checking on ur other video and i couldn't find the Ambient Occlusion button, so i press the ssao button ,but i couldn't change the maximum ray length ,are these two have same effect?where could i change it?mine is r18
Hi guys, but how is it that maxon has finally made the fracture module without foreseeing the joints? Without joints I find it useless as a tool. You could exploit the great power of TP as in MAX but also from this point of view you do not understand why TP are different. Is there a xpresso way to connect the joints to fragmented pieces?
I would say it's different. Nitroblast has features that Voronoi Fracture doesn't and also the other way around. I will do more in depth videos soon about the new features.
Use the original model until the frame where the object needs to shatter. Then swap it out with the fractured one. You can do it in the scene or in compositing.
OK, I know what happened. If your model is not 100% enclosed which means you left a hole somewhere, then it will not be extruded. For my model, it was her nostrils... how could you ever know
Hey guys, I just saw someone aiming for the structure of wood with noise within the displacement in the material attached to the XYZ of the Object. I need to break wood for some Short film and it kind of freaks me out, because I'm doing more than 5 days of research and still got nothing out of it. Can you guys pls do a Wood Shatter video with Voronio Fracture, because i can't find out what I'm doing wrong there? Video that catched my eye but without Voronio Fracture: ua-cam.com/video/7DcdVIflIGU/v-deo.html Thank you so much :) Alexander
Why in 2023, we STILL have NO WAY at all to have contraints that link the rigid bodies of a fractured object in NO SOFTWARE in the world. The WAS that OLD addon for blender called rigid bodies constraints that added relatively messy but way more realistic physics. And since then, nothing at all, the desert. Sad. AS it was that kind of advanced physics that made me learn 3D at the time. All the fractures are disconnected, no relative resistance like for wood...
Why are you in such a rush to present these functions ? Could'nt you explain it slowly? It Would be easier to understand and replicate! We don't need to see ALL that can be done with this Voronoi thing, we need to use them FAST and then, search or test for more complex stuff. Don't forget we try to follow your mouse mouvement in an environnement we are learning! Thanks
Thanks for the video! Always a reliable reference for C4D problem solving.

Master tool for fracturing.
Great intro, thanks!!
RIP Thrausi
True true , but after 5 years Maxon include this fracture inside Cinema , so late , so shame !
LOL!!

I am excited to try it out!
Nice tutorial. Can you make a tutorial how to make a ground crack in the floor with Voronoi Fracture? That can later be used in adobe after effects?
How do you want to use it in AE? As 3D? You may want to look at "Cineware" for AE.

Thanks! The team did such a great job with this one.
The pieces are too sharp. Is there a way to smoothen them out other than a sub-division surface?
Hello, Thanks to you guirde, but I want to ask a question: If I want the ball continue fracturing when it impacts the ground, what should I do?

Grate tut. for this tool.
can you make tutorial of plastic object crack effect not shutter effect object not separate just crack in between

how to VF a specific place in the object? or is it possible to make falloff?
its really cool
Thanks, Karan!
Is it possible to emit xparticles from the inside faces?
Hi GSG, how does Voronoi compare to Nitroblast? Is it worse, equal or better?
I would say it's different. Nitroblast has features that Voronoi Fracture doesn't and also the other way around. I will do more in depth videos soon about the new features.
My problem is that the object appears cracked even before the collision when I need it to be intact before it breaks. How do you fix this?
Use the original model until the frame where the object needs to shatter. Then swap it out with the fractured one. You can do it in the scene or in compositing.
can you have a different texture inside of the broken pieces ?
Yes. There are tags built in that allow you to do this.
@@Greyscalegorilla OKay thank you
thank
Wish there had been a tool like this since r13
It's really a great tool. Cant wait until everyone can get their hands on it.
There has been. There's a plugin called Thrausi which does all of this. No where near as powerful, but It was still really good.
I didn't get any inside face it look empty ..any solution plzz ....
Oh shoot,R17 in my PC.Searchin' for Cinema4D R19 Free Download.
So what's the difference between thrausi and this one?
One HUGE difference is that the new Fracture is non destructive.
how to export in fbx
Hey, where can i download thsi plugin? XD
Voronoi fracture is built into Cinema 4D R18. Thanks for watching!
Well, ok)
my inside face texture isn't working, anyone have any idea why?
super tutor (y)
nice
love you
Why arent my picecs chunks? they arent extruded at all. anyone else have this problem?
yes! I have that problem too, I used a female bust model inside C4D !! Help!!!
OK, I know what happened. If your model is not 100% enclosed which means you left a hole somewhere, then it will not be extruded. For my model, it was her nostrils... how could you ever know
With a big building i got something better With thrausi ☹️
How can i get jugged cracks like a cracked egg shell.
Check out the new features in R19
Thanks alot.

Probably? 🤷♂️
Thanks -- great tutorial.
Voronoi was named after Gyorgy Voronoy. ua-cam.com/video/_nJQ7q4jpk0/v-deo.html
nice to know, but no game changer. too much of everything has been done. unless its a hobby then its cool
Hello GSG... I need advice from a professional ... please, check out my tutorials on my channel...

people generally prefer concise tutorials, he's just doing what he knows people want him to do
kl, that was rude, disrespectful and useless
Good tutorial but you always seem rushed like you can't wait to be over with it
Why are YOUR videos hiRES and his videos suck?
