They're releasing 2 songs with a new live dvd: start over and screaming. They wrote start over as a poppy throwback song to contrast the heavier screaming song, as well as showcase how much they grew musically from their 1st album, maid in Japan.
Man how time flys. First and foremost thank you for helping promote this absolutely fantastic hard rock band. And that is precisely what they are. I discovered at the show at the Echoplex where people had come huge distances just to see them perform that very few of us consider Band-Maid anymore than just the best hard rock band working today. Almost no one said things like best female band or best Japanese band or even best all female Japanese rock band. Just simply best band. And for the newbies who knew very little and we're there because a friend brought them or out of social media curiosity they left saying damn, best rock band. No disrespect to women and no disrespect to Japan and its wonderful people but we want to take this band away from you guys (as if Band-Maid would let us do so) so we may hasten world domination for the world's best hard rock band. That is small pigeon's plan and a few million of us are going to do our damned best to make that a reality. Magical groups like this only come around once in a generation. And it has been a long, long time since the Beatles played Ed Sullivan. Thanks again for what you do. We appreciate it.
I have lived through many changes in music in the US since my younger years in the 60's, and have found many types of songs I enjoy. This is one of them at a time when this type of music is not as popular in the US. I have no idea how popular it is in Japan, but is a shame that people do not respect it. Kind of Jazzy.
For your information. MIKU said on the radio. "Our songs are difficult to sing at karaoke. So we created this song that everyone can sing easy." I guess they want to increase the number of female fans. And I guess that this song is also composed by KANAMI.
This seems to be a homage to their very beginnings. More mainstream and less ass kickery. As always, Emi cracks me up! “Yah he summed it up.” I agree this feels like everyone is reigned in, holding back.
This song gets a lot of hate. I know it's a switch from the norm but it's not a bad song. I just see it as the girls wanting to try something new. By the way, the final line is "I don't give a f***, be born again."
They with their musical skills could easily cross the next border and play some really smooth jazzy but slightly more ambitious song. I suspect, they must have been scared out a little. Girls, do not be afraid, just such experiments, not only delicious and intricately ornate basslines driving the boring music theme, will confirm your class. And in the end, the class is money.
I like the song, but I enjoy alot of straight up pop music in addition to more technical stuff. But what really makes this more enjoyable to me tho are the people who are literally having meltdowns over this. lol
Hey , Hope you are well . I look at it as , I get two singles with an awesome LIVE performance . I do think [ Start oven ] was not one of their best efforts . It was O K .
They have some older songs sort of like this. I wouldn't be surprised if they had this song for World Domination but left it off because it just didn't fit on that album and decided to release it as a single later.
I won't go as far as saying meaningless song, meaningless video as I can't find a English translation of the lyrics. Hopefully, somebody will post them on a comment. Not a bad song but a poor choice of direction for the sake of variety, in my opinion. The other new track Screaming, is back on form for Band Maid. I don't mind variety from established groups, think BabyMetral but I hope this poppy, same as many other bands track is the exception for future material.
Did you notice that they each had new outfits.
You're always observant. Maybe different to reflect this other stylr of music?

A good look at the new costumes. Not an improvement (except for MISA). And poor Kanami
Finally, somebody figured out this is a light jazz song. Brilliant execution...and Saiki's final line is epic.
Heavy jazz influences in a lot of their songs. Good to see them experimenting and doing new things.

More Wagakki Band please!

It's single .There album and single are different.(like Daydreaming/choose me)
This song reminded me of Daydreaming. I hope they continue to experiment with different types of music.
