Hi. Great question. So when this customer came in for an estimate I did a test spot and just hand polished one of the worst areas. That way I knew what to expect. I figured jobs like this will always need a little extra polishing anyway so I charge a little more than what I would normally charge for our paint enhancements. As far as mobile vs shop, shops handle many vehicles at a time so they will tell customers that their vehicle may take a few days, but in reality it can be done much quicker, it’s just they take their time because they have many other vehicles in the shop also. For mobile or smaller guys like us we focus on one vehicle at a time and get it done much quicker. Not a fan of professionals that say "well, we will try many different things" then charge the customer for all of the product and experiments they tried. Hope you did NOT charge this customer for the experiments you performed.
Hi. Not sure exactly what you mean by that. That's not how a detailing business actaully charges for their services. our trying different methods to achieve the results we get are all part of the service we provide. For jobs like this we look at he vehicle first, do a test spot, then give suggestions and prices to the custoemr. once we settle on what they want and the price, thats it. The process we go through is all part of the service. Sometimes we win sometimes we loose...what I mean by that is some jobs are easier than others even though we may have first thought it would be a tough one... other jobs may end up being more challenging and take more time than expected. either way the price we discussed stays the same. Thats How a true professional Detailer should do his job. It would be inappropriate to simply charge the customer more without first discussing what other issues or problems we may run into. We also don't charge for products used, all of that is built into the price fro the beginning. Sometimes we use less product, sometime more....either way doesn't matter, price does not go up, but neither does it go down. True detailers running a proper business will know that. Have you seen or experienced detailers doing what you suggested in your comment?
Hi helllo.. I love your vídeos. I learn a lot. But in this one dont film your hand. Every time you show your hand the camera focus the hand e and the car. Okk. Thanks...
Yeah that’s true sometimes I can slow the passes down. I have found doing that increases heat so I don’t it often. I rather do slightly quicker passes and keep things cooler. But that’s one good method.
Hello Phil please What can I do if the customer is a walk in and shows up in person to schedule a service ? I don’t have a physical copy of the form so what do you do if they are standing in front of you and want to book I try to tell them I’ll send it to them to book and they want to do it in person have you dealt with this ? Also how long do they have until you schedule another customer on the day they wanted if they don’t get back to you right away with the form and someone else calls and wants that day?
CarPro Descale is too weak for these waterspots. Labocosmetica Purifica is the shampoo for this job. Way stronger.
I don’t know why but here in Japan this is normal.
You mean heavy water spots?
@@MirandaDetailing yes sir
Wow. That’s crazy.
Excellent turnaround Jess & Phil, what was your combined hours on that job?
Hi. Not sure really since I don’t keep track of that. But estimated about 6-7 hours with the two of us.
Nice!
Hi helllo.. I love your vídeos. I learn a lot. But in this one dont film your hand. Every time you show your hand the camera focus the hand e and the car. Okk. Thanks...
You need to slow down. You're not giving enough time to get the cut you need.
Yeah that’s true sometimes I can slow the passes down. I have found doing that increases heat so I don’t it often. I rather do slightly quicker passes and keep things cooler. But that’s one good method.
STILL LOT OF SWIRLS
🤣 What do you mean?
I don’t like that finish
Hi. What do you mean?
@@MirandaDetailing You need to be more aggressive wood pad or microfiber
Ah I see. You just want to see it cleared up more correct?

Hello Phil please What can I do if the customer is a walk in and shows up in person to schedule a service ? I don’t have a physical copy of the form so what do you do if they are standing in front of you and want to book I try to tell them I’ll send it to them to book and they want to do it in person have you dealt with this ? Also how long do they have until you schedule another customer on the day they wanted if they don’t get back to you right away with the form and someone else calls and wants that day? Do you have walk ins
This happened to me today. Did you have an answer for my question above please ?
