    I always appreciate your videos and knowledge. Your methods work and that is the bottom line. I like how your pressure washer setup is so accurate in the jams. My setup has a stronger psi which means a 40 degree tip and less accuracy. As always great work and efficiency. Thank you!

    Another great video. I love how you focus on what needs to be done and what is being paid for. You do what is needed to get the results that were expected by the customer based on their budget. I started off wanting to overkill everything just to show what I could do. And most times those people would have been happy with an all in one or just a polish or wax.

      Hi. Oh yeah that stuff is awesome.
      ua-cam.com/video/UX512SzJdUU/v-deo.html
      But I use it more for maintenance on coated vehicles and not as a stand alone sealant. For most of my full details I machine apply sealants since it helps gloss up the paint and remove any marring that may occur from the claying step.

    Pre rinsing does make a difference but if you use a APC as a pre rinse it's less of a different and safer to help cool the panels and delays the chemicals from drying. On nasty vehicles I use dark fury 6:1 and cover the car and immediately rinse and hand wash, never had an issue.

    12:50. It sounds like your wheel spoke brush is somehow hooked up to your pressure washer. Every time you use it, you can hear the engine running and when you’re cleaning the tire and wheel well with a different brush, there’s no noise.

    Hey, love your channel and new to detailing you’ve helped so much! I was curious because I know you have a demineralized water treatment, and don’t have to worry about water spots.
    However if we only have access to hot water and live in a hot climate, how would you recommend cleaning door jambs?

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  11 місяців тому +1

      Hi. Thanks! We only use DI water for the rinsing stage on maintenance details. The rest of the time we use our regular water. But it’s honestly not bad at all. You can still use hot water in a hot climate on the Jambs. At least the sun will not dry them to quickly because they are in the jambs.

    I thought I hated fabric seats until now. Alcantara interior. I despise it lol. I bought the car with 2000 miles on it but the previous super wealthy owner cleaned the Alcantara incorrectly and let it sit for 4 years. The fibers are broken and won't sit up plush. So now the 2 door armrests and center console trim replacements are going to cost me $600 to $700. Maybe I'll change my mind after I have new material to take care of from day 1.

    Hey Phil! Yet another cool video from Miranda Detailing!! Questions...I am getting a small SPTA polisher like the one you used in this video. Can it be used to apply compounds? I want to remove the light swirls from my paint. In your opinion what is the best pad to use to achieve that? Lastly, do your customers mind how you describe their vehicles?

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  Місяць тому +2

      Hi. Thanks.
      So that little polisher is more of a wax spreader. It doesn’t have the power to actually remove swirls. I would stick with the larger 15mm SPTA Cordless polishers that we always use. For heavy swirls you will need a microfiber pad but for minor swirls an orange lake country medium pad will work fine.
      🤣usually our customers with really nasty vehicles know it, I have never had anyone get upset at me for saying their vehicle is nasty.

    Learn from experience! Thanks, Phil!
    Forgive Me if I've asked this before: Can You use APC diluted on a coated car that's dirty? Maybe hasn't been washed in a week or two? Finally, how often do You do a de-con wash on a coated car? Iron x? Thank You

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  Рік тому +2

      Hi. Great question. I will only do a strong pre wash or APC rinse on a coated vehicle if it hasn’t been washed in a few months. Usually a few weeks it’s not that bad, depending of course on how much it was driven and where. I only use a deconing shampoo or tar remover or iron remover on coated vehicles IF I notice it going flat and not beading as it should.

    • @thinkforyourself5672
      @thinkforyourself5672 Рік тому +2

      From personal experience, More effective than Chemical decon or an APC rinse on a coated vehicle is washing the car every 2 to 4 to whatever is needed months with Carpro Descale. It's unbelievable how well that stuff brings back coatings. And try Gtechniq Citrus Foam as a pre wash. Completely coating safe and is my favorite pre wash / Foam to date. The cleaning power is impressive for a PH neutral product

It seems like the stream was really tight for washing out the jambs and I was just thinking "That doesn't look like the pattern I see with my 40 degree tip". Hi. Great question. With some vehicles we could get away that....however most of the vehicles we are detailing are so bad that we need to go through these methods. I have tried rinse-less washing on vehicles like this in the past and wasn't really happy with the results. It wasn't faster or more efficient and we kept having to go over areas that needed more cleaning. But its cool, everyone has their methods that work for them and the vehicles they work on. Out process is so fast and efficient for us...thats why we continue to do what we do. 😎👍

    Hi Phil, how about trying a No-bucket wash process to reduce the risk of scratching even more? I.e. Apply the shampoo using a foam cannon (I use Adams shampoo), then use multiple mitts to wash the paint. Wash 2-3 panels with the first mitt, toss it into a bucket, grab a second clean mitt and wash another section, toss it…..and so on. Obviously it’s not totally risk free , but arguably safer than the one mitt and two bucket and grit guard method. Yes, there are more mitts to put in the washing machine afterwards, but there’s no faffing filling and emptying buckets. Just food for thought😊

    • @pantac4493

      some people don’t do a thorough pre contact wash and that leaves more dirt on the surface. that probably makes more of a difference than worry about what method the contact wash is because the dirt should be minuscule by the time you get to contact wash

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  Рік тому +2

      Hi. Yeah I have tried that method. In fact my friend Brian from Apex does that. It’s a great method also. Our pre wash or APC rinse method also drastically reduces the risk of any sort or particles causing any marring or swirls. So same results, different methods. 😎👍🏼

    If you are going to make a video focusing on efficiency, I would suggest avoiding endlessly repeating yourself throughout; we get that you are a business and part of efficiency is doing what the vehicle needs and not doing what the vehicle doesn’t need, and that this is your particular version of the process. No need to say this over and over again; at some point it becomes borderline insulting to viewers. Do you charge your clients the same price whether you perform a specific step or not, say chemical decon? How do you communicate these “discretionary” elements of your service packages in a way clients accept? Thank you for posting this video.

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  10 місяців тому +1

      Hi. Sorry you saw it that way, your entitled to your opinion. Repetition is important in teaching but not everyone likes that. I answer hundreds of questions from new Detailers about these topics all the time so I have to repeat certain elements of the process. As far as communication with the customer, that’s the most important part of the service. We always have a discussion about what needs to be done and what doesn’t need to be done. Like I mentioned in the video (I guess I’m repeating again…part of the teaching process) I don’t do things arbitrarily, like other detailers on UA-cam. I also have an acknowledgment form I have customers read and sign. If someone is bringing their vehicle to a trusted Detailer, it’s because they either don’t have experience or knowledge to do it themselves without wasting lots of time doing unnecessary things. Our prices will only increase if the vehicle is trashed. It would be unwise to charge less then what our starting prices are even if the vehicle is in great condition. That’s something that real detailing business understand.

    • @louisperich6678
      @louisperich6678 10 місяців тому +1

      @@MirandaDetailing I do believe that you are a real detailing business, so you should not feel the need to justify yourself there. Or for that matter imply that others who may have a different approach than you are not a real business. They may not be sufficiently PROFITABLE lol, if that is what you mean. Glad to see you are fully up-front transparent with the client on the discretionary aspects. I would be annoyed as a client if I felt I was being charged for something that I did not receive. Explaining it as “outcome-based” vs. “task-based” is a good approach, as is having clients sign forms that cover this. I like your approach on the forms. It make perfect sense to have a minimum price regardless, which you can adjust upwards based on poor condition or selected options; discounts are not best practice in the detailing industry, it is a trap to be avoided. Keep the videos coming.
