Do you believe in priming the engine before turning it on after an oil change? With some cars, I believe you can activate a mode called “clear flood mode”. With some filters, you can pour oil into the filter. You can’t do that with this style filter, but some people pour oil directly into the oil filter housing. Thoughts?
Newbie here, how do you clean the funnel or other equipment that’s touched the oil? Do you have to clean it in a way where it won’t introduce contaminates the next time it’s used?
@@TommyLGarage Chevy less than 1/2 price mid engine . I get to see the engine under glass too 😃 . If price equal yup 911 . But what an overcomplicated mechanism and addition to weight 😄
@@TommyLGarage and 2 more cylinders torque . So while my local Delaware Porsche dealer preferred back room buying his own cars for bigger profits I bought the C8 performance equipped and a manual ///M4 both for less than a 911 with No ADM . Both very different cars and a smile every morning I take my pick . I’ve owned dozens performance cars including Porsche , GT-R , Vintage and they all have great things to enjoy . Honestly the BMW Supra was the most fun Driver and now with manual at $57k 😵 . If you were around in the market 2008-2010 you know where prices are heading and that’s when I’ll add that 911
Great video as always but two comments if I may: 4.0 991.2 takes closer to 7liters of oil during oil change, guess you said something about 9-12l? Your buddy seems rather strong, but he almost got a heart attack torquing the oil filter. In my 991.2 I'm torquing it down with 25Nm which is a bit more than hand tide. Looking at him one could say he was putting at least 100Nm there 😂
No, we added 8 L. What I meant is that the actual system takes a lot more because what is left in the oil coolers in the front is not drained during regular oil changes.
No need to remove the left fan. Simply remove the right fan and its cable from their mounts and fold the fan over. You can separate the fan cable from its plug rather than prying it out of the plug mount (to prevent breakage) and after folding the fan over, pull out the air intake and you have access to the oil filter housing cover.
This scares me because my tendency is to find stuff and take it apart, but I don't do a good job of putting things back the way they were. I fear I might end up with a convertible after this.
Great job Matthew!! I love showing people how to do those small DIY…
This one is easy!
Great job guys, thanks for sharing and giving me the confidence to do this myself.
Thanks for watching! As you can see, it’s pretty straightforward. Let me know if you ever have any questions.
A clean oil change is a good oil change 👍
The tools definitely help!
Nice work gents. Great diy.
Thanks 👍

Haha so true
$400 for this at the dealer
😂
oil filter in the housing and push down first or oil filter in the cap and screw in?
Filter first

Never thought about it, but I don’t believe it’s necessary here given the upside down design of the oil filter.

Yes, I simply use a break cleaner. I wipe everything after each use.
Love these videos.
Glad you like them!
C8 did the removable top so simple . Porsche needs to go old school removable Targa 😊
I still would prefer this car over a Chevy.

I wanted to have better access to it with my phone. But I get what you’re saying.
Change engine air filter will be more fun! LOL...
It’s actually very easy. The bumper has to come off, but it’s very straightforward.
