I really wish they'd committed more to telling the true story, and not just a story based on a true story.
If they put how Jann still raced at Le Mans (with the GT-R LM Nismo) weeks after the Nurburgring crash instead of using it as a plot device for a race that actually happened in 2013, the film will still be good enough for me. The disregard of details for entertainment kinda bugs me
I really enjoyed the film. I didnt know much about him, but it did open the door to me learning a lot more about him. The movie did take some "liberties" with his story, but I still felt it was a good movie for non-racing fans and racing fans would enjoy it. A bit of a disappointing decision to make a crash that happened a couple years after the movie as a big story element, especially when it resulted in the loss of life though. Kinda felt like they turned a tragedy into a opportunity without paying proper respects to the individual who died and Janns story. However, it was a good movie, the acting was good, the story (minus the crash) was good, and the cinematics were amazing.
Especially when they played up Jann’s injuries (irl he had little to no injuries and walked off), I feel it wouldve been more proper to show what actually happened, which was Jann breaking down crying because he realized his car had killed someone just trying to watch a race.
We have a same story in Hungary. Norbert Michelisz. Touring car world CUP winner and 2 times independent champion also started his carrier from the Simworld.
He's a terrific racer. Hope he's got a seat for next year somewhere, if not during this one. Getting away from Nissan might be the best thing to happen to him given the increase in the hypercar grid (taking over from LMP1) in the last couple of years. More manufacturers are due to join, so it's possible we'll see him up the front again. Very proud of my young countryman! 🏴
Honestly i really think a move to Toyota/Lexus could prove beneficial. As far as manufacturers go in Japan (if he still wanted to get into the Japanese scene), Toyota is currently the only brand that has a variety of racing programmes to get into (especially compared to what Nissan has right now). Toyota/Lexus is currently developing a brand new GT3 car for WEC and other GT series use and it can also be used as a clear stepping stone if he really wants to go to the Hypercar class.
@@AbrahamArthemius that’s not a bad shout - it’s rumoured that AKKodis ASP are parting ways with Mercedes to run Toyota’s WEC GT3 team, which means they’ll be in need of new Pro drivers to replace the factory Merc drivers
@@theocousins6386 Yup, the AKKodis rumour will prove to be a good one if it turns out to be true. Of course they will use the RC F GT3 as a place holder for the GT3 in 2025, but that old gurl can still kick newer machines in the right hand (Vasser Sullivan in IMSA as the best example of that)
I actually remember trying out for the Gran Turismo Academy for Gran Turismo 5. This is why I loved the movie because I was actually involved in this story as well! NOTE: I didn't even make the first 20,000 let alone the first 20. But I felt glad that I entered the Challenge.
In the same vein, Id love to see you do a video on Jimmy Broadbent. Hes proof that not only sim racers can become real racers, but that its never too late or too much of a ling shot to pursue your dream
I was at the global reveal for the Nissan GT-R LM Nismo the night before the Chicago Auto Show in 2015. A bunch of Nissan and GT Academy people were there, including Jann. I wasn't confident enough to talk much to him, but he genuinely seemed like a cool dude that couldn't wait go race LMP1 at Le Mans. It was so cool being in that room as one of the first to see that car and their whole program launch. And then within that same year it was dead :(
It seems like his career was a bit all over the place, being so good he was just kept on climbing the ranks. The movie was great and it was definitely inspiring. Coming back from such a traumatic accident takes guts and skill.
I think the story of the first GT Academy winner, Lucas Ordóñez, it's very underrated, having in mind that he was the first of all, going to the absolutely unknown, and having a pretty good career after that. His success was the seed that made posible to people like Jann became driver too, because without that success, Nissan would have been shut down all the project fast, and instead, they felt encouraged to look for more talents like Ordóñez and Mardenborough. As I said, pretty underrated. Needs more recognition.
This is what I disappointed the most about the movie. I get it they did the movie for promotional purposes, imho, they should acknowledge and mention about Ordonez as the 1st GT Academy Winner.
I never knew, what was the origin story of the GT Academy was but yeah... I enjoyed the Gran Turismo movie really much. But I was really confused, that everything outside the actually race tracks was just Hungaroring. I mean, it might be (and probably is) that you switched from actually Silverstone from Hungaroring or Le Mans sometimes to Hungaroring. That kicked me out of immersion
So you can really go from sim racing to the real thing?? How the hell do you afford the car? The practice time in the real car? All the fees, etc etc….I don’t get it.
Alot of people don't realize that this is exactly how Martin Truex Jr also got discovered (On Nr2003 of all things). And just like that, Dale Jr got him signed up (First to his previous Chance 2 Motorsports team, then to DEI)
Pretty bloody good, just like your vids. A mate of mine, Kenny Herremans, was a bit of a backmarker in that Nissan Academy program. Kept on soldiering on in Belgian Ford Fiesta Sprint cups and now does pretty well in Euro GT4 ... It wasn't a total waste for a broke bloke from Belgium.
He was living the dream. That's how excited I have been about the movie since I saw how that guy made it from the PlayStation to a GT-R. I know the drama movies need to have these days, but I don't care, it's a truly inspiring story. Edit: I loved the movie. Way better than NFS, and while it has its "Hollywood" element, it's amazing for almost every people.
12:48 probably my biggest nitpick from the movie. No amount of text that said Le Mans can change the fact that the Hungaroring is still the Hungaroring
I've been obsessed with the Gran Turismo games. I have lived within a 30-minute distance from the Hungaroring for two decades and was really looking forward to an incredible cinematic experience like 2013's Rush from Ron Howard! Unfortunately, I've set the bar too high and the film couldn't have lived up to my expectations. The idea of the game is to feel like a 'Real Racing Driver' with lifelike models of machinery and courses! The movie was unable to give back the same feel, and as you have said Josh, being a bit of a racing nerd and someone who's a frequent visitor to the filming location in real life, the immersion was broken. No amount of CG could mask it once you've seen it, although they did mask the 'HUNGARORING' sign of the main building with an extra layer of reflective windows. Going backwards on the track layout also didn't do anything. Credit where credit's due, they did manage to shoehorn in the Mulsanne Straight with some in-game footage to the layout!😂 I'm sure Jann is happy anyway getting a well-deserved movie, and a Josh Revell video made about his journey! Well done, Sir!
I always love hearing the story of Jann Mardenborough. Its such an inspiring story and he was a man on a mission. Went from gaming on gran turismo to racing with people who raced their whole lives and he was able to hold up against them. A fairytale story :) The movie on the other hand... Was alright. What pissed me off the most about it was the shots of le mans... The final turn was of the short layout and somehow there were a lot of shots of the hungaring thrown in there...For a non motorsport viewer that is completely fine... But for motorsport fans its a thing that makes your fucking blood boil
Love this guy's story and career but it still amuses me how Nissan decided to send him to lemans along with 5 other drivers to pilot two basically unfinished cars and to add insult to injury Nissan decided to cancel the project the following year.
I'm Japanese Motorsport lover and for us Jann is just as a good driver regardless his background and when I was kids I didn’t know this background but I saw him as a good talent driver and he made good results in Japanese category so I was surprised and everyone was surprised after 2020 he lost Super GT seat! We still want him back to Super GT 500 and we still remember his stunning his Japanese F3 season! At that time Toms( Kenya Yamashita ) had been dominating the season but he compete that team even he was not driver for Toms! I really wanna him back to full time race driver and I hope he back to Japanese category!
i watched the movie 10/10 the most eerie part of the actual movie is at the end where they showed side by sides they even replicated his childhood photos
I know this is totally irrelevant but everytime i watch a video on a driver of extraordinary talent be it kimi antonelli , jann or anybody else i just get more and more respectful towards max (verstappen i mean ) these guys are so talented still couldn't reach F1 or be a champion how insanely talented must he be to get there at the age of 16 only just insane unfathomable how he must be behind the wheel of a car
Even though the movie's story didnt completely follow along the true story, it was a good movie overall for both non-racing and racing fans nonetheless. I honestly was spectical about the movie since racing movies have had a few horrid attempts of depicting decent racing but the movie was really enjoyable actually and the cinematography was on point
Years ago I thought to myself that turismo should make a movie. I never thought they would make one about a young man like this. 😮. But I have to say he earned it, at least comparatively. I pray Jann Mardenbrough much more success. Despite its imperfections, Gran Turismo has always been “my favorite game “. 😊
Really like the video man you made it seem like a documentary with all the information really appreciate it as I didn't know much about jann or the game racers before the movie so this video was very good thanks
I keep seeing so many complaining about how "Inaccurate it is" when it came to the tracks and as someone who followed Jann's career I know this but folks don't seem to realize that you can't completely go 1:1 with this without basically going broke. - Filming at Le Mans of all places was NEVER gonna happen. Good luck convincing the French Government to just close down their public roads for filiming (AND ponying up the cash for spending multiple days there). And even if it was during the event, do you guys not understand how busy the Le Mans Week is? Hell it would've been a miracle at this year's massive anniversary event (Which you know was booked to hell and back). - Its not as simple as turning up to a track, just having cameras and cars. You have to pay to be there and with how many tracks Jann was at over his career and the amount of days spent just at one of them filiming, try to guess how much money that would've amounted to just to have every single track accurately represented filming at them (Go ahead, I'll wait). I guarantee you it was simply cheaper to do a good portion of them at the Hungaroring then it would've been to actually have all of them. Friendly reminder that the movie "Le Mans" (The one I'm sure many have used to justify said complaints) bombed at the box office. Guess that extra realism really helped, didn't it? Oh and btw, Jann was involved in this film from day 1 (Which was back in 2017) so there's your guy if you want to complain about inaccuracies. Also: where exactly where you folks when Ron Howard did similar things with Rush? I guarantee the same thing was done with Ford Vs Ferrari and I guarantee the same will happen with the upcoming Ferrari Movie (And going off the not too bad numbers both the former movies did, it'll still do well and prove that the inaccuracies don't mean squat in front of the movie going audience, which is exactly what this is aimed at). It is simply more cheaper and practical to make up the other tracks and just shoot at an existing one or two then trying to book a shit ton of track days at alot of tracks (which WILL add up in addition to all the cost for catering, crew and equipment). At the end of the day, its a Movie. Throw away your brains and just watch it.
GT Academy really suited guys who didn't have a full time job - I did have one so only had time to give it a handful of tries at the time. If I was practicing all day like these guys I reckon I would've had a good shot of progressing haha. Was well within the top 1000 after only a few goes. ... I can dream.
GT Academy is a big slap to boomers who always think that gaming only waste time and has no benefit. That kind of programme should still be alive to this day.
I wanna say, it surprised me when i saw how well he did in the Toyota Racing Series in 2013, especially because he could not deliver in European F3 that same year
That was why I was NOT expecting this movie. My friends that are into sims and automotive called me weird because I said It will be not good. Not bad but not good will be a super hyped drama, with lots of crazy fights and hollywood crap. But hey... its good he got the attention he is cool. Hope he get a good cut of money. The good - as a track assistant I WOULD ENCOURAGE SIM RACERS TO TRY THEIR LOCAL TRACK! I hope more and more young blood assisting the local track open track days and local racing! The bad - The Sim racers that will try their cars in the streets...and put in danger other people and themself.
I watched it and it’s so good it was my most fav movie so good even the crash’s btw how did you sell underwear’s for 1 month to get that racing wheel thingy
This is a fantastic documentary. The only thing missing in an interview with him, and what he's up to these days. I'd still be playing GT5 shuffle 300pp rooms if they hadn't shut down the server! We had some groups that made up games like golfing a fiat 500 around the track with a Lambo and the lowest pp cars on the hilly dirt track. I was NOT a fan of grinding those Nissan challenges for 1/1000's of a second.
I got to see the Gran Turismo movie about him 2 weeks before the movie was released because I got tickets to the preview which I think were expensive and I saw it with some of my friends on august 11th, I’m in the us by the way
This movie inspired me to conquer my fear of driving and ironically my first video game purchase was Gran Turismo on the PS1. Jann and I also share the same birth year (1991) his story means a lot to me.
Byron was a very different story. He wasn't a poor sim racer who won a contest then went pro. He was a well-funded kid who had a real-life racing career going at the same time that he played iRacing. He came from a rich family who had business connections. That's what pushed his career forward, not sim racing.
Not gonna lie, As a story of Rise and Falls, I think Jimmy Broadbents life would make for an interesting watch, Especially after what he achieved with Praga
The very thin triggering me the most was the LeMans race. They literally raced half on the Hungaro ring! That was not LaSarthe for the most part. The rest was fine. But the track action… ugh… that bothered me with the inaccurate tracks.
"Sim racecar drivers can be real racecar drivers." Can't wait til they come out with the iRacing movie about William Byron. He's... gotten a little bit further in his racing career than Jann did, despite not starting racing in actual cars until he was 15. Jann's a cool guy though, I got to chat with him when he was racing in Super GT
Hadn't realised it was that long ago that his whole GT thing happened. I thought it was a GT Sport thing. Have to say it was a really good video. Not sure who the other guy is, but his audio or voice was way too quiet. I was watching the video while gaming and I did not hear a single word he said. Maybe either needs to up the vol on his mic or adjust audio post production. The volume difference between your sections and his was night and day.
Josh, you should make a video about Agustín Canapino. He started playing simulators as a kid and now he has just completed his first IndyCar full season at 33 yo for Juncos Hollinger Racing. He won 15 titles in touring cars championships in Argentina (including 4x Turismo Carretera titles and 2x TC2000 titles).
7:08 Background track on the video really took my interest out of the mood to finish the video. I'm not a content creator nor am I an editor, but as a consumer of lots of content that covers historical events of any kind, and especially watching lots of gaming content, the music in the background was too distracting for me to want to finish the video to the end. Maybe it's just a me thing with the times of my ADHD riddled brain, but this is honest critiquing that I believe will help your content improve. It doesn't need to taken seriously and drastically, but just something to ponder on about for not just you, Josh Revell, but for anyone else that comes across this comment and has an inspiration for content creation. Essentially, there is always a time and place for certain styles of music to accompany anything whether that be UA-cam videos, movies, games, stores, restaurants, etc. Find a way to not just have music fill in the empty space between visual and vocal aspects of content, and instead think about how the choice and style of music could further enhance the content. For instance, the music before the 7:08 time in the video, there was intense and serious music playing in the background. However, there's just goofy royalty free music that doesn't suit the format and content of the documentary. Of course, not everyone can afford to pay for copyrighted music or create their own music to put into their content, but that doesn't mean there aren't better options than using some happy go lucky goofy ahh music. Not to mention that the music wasn't used for a "bit" either in the section it was placed in. I'm not knowledgeable about the Toyota Racing Series, and it is entirely possible that the "bit" was that this race/tournament was a joke. Despite what the representation was intended, it more so was off-putting rather than interesting or attention grabbing. It made it seem like the progress that Jann had made in the Toyota Racing Series seem like a joke or some sort of clown act that shouldn't be taken seriously by consumers of this content with no knowledge of the subject such as I. The whole section between 7:08 and 9:13 was all talking about the upbringing of the underdog Jann and how far he has come in the driving and racing scene, going from finishing behind all of his teammates to now finishing ahead of all of his teammates. The choice of music just trivializes the importance of what the Toyota Racing Series had done for Jann during a tough learning curve that he had overcome during that period of time. Fitting the mood of the content isn't easy for everyone, but that doesn't mean it isn't a skill that people cannot learn. From a viewer's perspective with no interest in racing, driving, cars, etc. and even more so since I have no previous knowledge of the history behind the movie, I was excited to just know the real story behind the plot of the movie. And unfortunately, I lost all of that excitement and interest to learn what really happened only because of just some music that took all the intensity of real life events and threw it out the window. Now that I've created a whole essay about this video in a single comment, I just want to make it clear here that this is meant to be constructive criticism for people to take and to think about how they can improve their content with subtle but very important editing aspects that separates good content creators from amazing content creators. Don't get me wrong now. This video is very informative and and unique in it's own ways with amazing pacing and story telling. However, the way that content is conveyed to an audience can make or break a video at times, which clearly didn't break the views as much as previous videos have, but it did make a very decent and informative video that was relatively enjoyable for the first half and the ending 4 or so minutes, not to mention mostly well received by a lot of others. This is even further exemplified within the video itself where the primary jump in watch time for the "Most Replayed" section is right as the goofy music is starting, and it only picks back up at the point in the video when the music has stopped and returned to a more serious tone. In the end, I hope Josh Revell will continue to succeed in the content creator space in the future. I just won't be along for the ride along with his 380k subscribers, and that's honestly perfectly fine. It just wasn't the content for me despite having the enthusiasm to check it out in the first place only because of a single background song. I'm still glad I got to find out about the real story, but I just wish I could have enjoyed it to the fullest without being pulled out of the moment, and turning a 14 minute video into a 30+ minute essay dissecting why background music matters and giving reasoning behind it unfairly using this video as an example. Good luck Josh, if you see this, and keep on going and striving to improve! Good luck!
Whilst appreciating your comments it seems interesting to me that you use some isolated music in this video to not watch it it full and then decide you will not subscribe to the channel! I’m interested to know if you have viewed any other of Josh’s 14:02 14:02 videos And further have you critiqued any other F1 you tubers videos? I’m thinking perhaps not but I could be incorrect Yes it’s constructive criticism but maybe a little over the top at the same time Look forward to hearing from you

Jann gave them the approval to add the crash to the movie.
Especially when they played up Jann’s injuries (irl he had little to no injuries and walked off), I feel it wouldve been more proper to show what actually happened, which was Jann breaking down crying because he realized his car had killed someone just trying to watch a race.
@@KaiserBob99 Ah, okay. I didnt know that. Thanks!
Agreed, real life was better than film depicted. The story deserves a documentary and R.I.P 🙏🏾 to spectator
@@cheddarmx5969they did show a bit of jann having a breakdown about it though
He is also the stunt driver of Gran Turismo movie as well.
We have a same story in Hungary.
Norbert Michelisz. Touring car world CUP winner and 2 times independent champion also started his carrier from the Simworld.
You also have Tim Heineman in DTM at the moment
He's a terrific racer. Hope he's got a seat for next year somewhere, if not during this one. Getting away from Nissan might be the best thing to happen to him given the increase in the hypercar grid (taking over from LMP1) in the last couple of years. More manufacturers are due to join, so it's possible we'll see him up the front again. Very proud of my young countryman! 🏴
I hope he gets a shot at an LMP2 team or hell maybe even Hypercar if he's lucky enough.
He’s still a gold-rated driver in the FIA’s categorisations. There’s certainly worse options out there than Jann…
Of course they will use the RC F GT3 as a place holder for the GT3 in 2025, but that old gurl can still kick newer machines in the right hand (Vasser Sullivan in IMSA as the best example of that)
Jann and William Byron's back stories are such incredible stories. Definitely an inspiration to keep grinding
Bro that’s what I was thinking
Even though Willy B had connections with Jimmie Johnson through his dad with Liberty University and had a been driving Legends to get where he is now
timing is impeccable, i literally just got home from watching the movie 😭
@Con.tactONTele.gram-JoshRevellthis is a scam
yeah i was kind of sad that lucas wasn't mentioned, but I guess they couldn't fit everyone in the movie.
This is what I disappointed the most about the movie. I get it they did the movie for promotional purposes, imho, they should acknowledge and mention about Ordonez as the 1st GT Academy Winner.
@@ciello___8307Antonio Cruz is based on Lucas Ordonez
I remember seeing how distraught he was when he realised what had happened. RIP to spectator. Best of luck to Jann in the future.
It was more the fact that they where running around the hungaroring backwards was more of the issue I had. That’s what kicked me out of the immersion.
@@lchollies3651 Ohohoho right. I just saw it and said; Yep, seems absolutely legit xD
Josh Berry is taking a similar route. He was discovered playing iRacing by Dale Earnhardt Jr.
He is scheduled to go full time in NASCAR next year
Funny... three racecar drivers, all with names that start with J, all started as sim racers:
Jann Mardenborough
Josh Berry
Jimmy Broadbent
So..... Josh Revell is next?
William Byron?
So you can really go from sim racing to the real thing?? How the hell do you afford the car? The practice time in the real car? All the fees, etc etc….I don’t get it.
Alot of people don't realize that this is exactly how Martin Truex Jr also got discovered (On Nr2003 of all things). And just like that, Dale Jr got him signed up (First to his previous Chance 2 Motorsports team, then to DEI)
I've just finished watching the film, the timing of this upload is incredible ahah!
Makes you wonder about all the great drivers that just never got an opportunity
Many GT Academy alumni have decent racing career
He was living the dream. That's how excited I have been about the movie since I saw how that guy made it from the PlayStation to a GT-R. I know the drama movies need to have these days, but I don't care, it's a truly inspiring story.
Edit: I loved the movie. Way better than NFS, and while it has its "Hollywood" element, it's amazing for almost every people.
Bro Im living a gta lifestyle....how cool is that...gaming inspires my every heartbeats
12:48 probably my biggest nitpick from the movie. No amount of text that said Le Mans can change the fact that the Hungaroring is still the Hungaroring

😂😂😂😂😂😂
Credit where credit's due, they did manage to shoehorn in the Mulsanne Straight with some in-game footage to the layout!😂
I'm sure Jann is happy anyway getting a well-deserved movie, and a Josh Revell video made about his journey! Well done, Sir!
The fact that he did in 10 years what most drivers say took them OVER TWO AND A HALF, its astonishing.
He's a race car driver. A well deserved one.

Do you mean two and a half decades?
Lmfaoo What? Is This Sarcasm Or A Typo? 😂
How in the hell have I never got Cameron recommended. The man has a voice that could charm an Eldritch horror.
This truely felt like i watched a different version of the gran Turismo movie. Thanks a lot
William Byron in NASCAR did the same thing with iRacing and currently has 5 wins on the season in the cup series in his 6th year for a total of 9 wins
Jann deserves all of this, what a guy, wishing him more success in the future 💚
Jann's story is beyond incredible. It is miraculous!!
Was waiting for this vid since I saw the movie
"Gamers can't be racers😡" mfs when a proper training and funding can make anybody turn into professionals at a particular mastery of subject🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
When the world needed him the most he vanished
Josh: SIKEEEEEEE
Max Verstappen is a sim champion but he still started karting.
Three racecar drivers, all with names that start with J, all started as sim racers:
Jann Mardenborough
Josh Berry
Jimmy Broadbent
James Baldwin
They were trying to get this kid to F1 by any means necessary. That would have been incredible. Imagine the doors it would have opened up for others.
Amazing video, actually! one of my favourites from you!
I don't comment on anyone's videos very much but I have to say this video gave me chills
Gran Turismo was an amazing movie if only Sony treated it as a true homage to Jann instead of making it as 2 hour Gran Turismo/PS5 and Nissan ad.
James Baldwin is another sim racer that got a real drive in British GT and managed to win a race in the mclaren 720s
i watched the movie 10/10 the most eerie part of the actual movie is at the end where they showed side by sides they even replicated his childhood photos
Had the movie not been based on a true story would’ve called bullsh** on the plot because he did the literally impossible! Amazing story.
After watching the movie I thought they must of over inflated his career for the movie but his real life career is even more impressive than the movie
Wait that was him in the GTR crash?! Holy crap I didnt know that
Years ago I thought to myself that turismo should make a movie. I never thought they would make one about a young man like this. 😮. But I have to say he earned it, at least comparatively. I pray Jann Mardenbrough much more success. Despite its imperfections, Gran Turismo has always been “my favorite game “. 😊
'Twas a privilege sir 🙏🏾
Noice!
Good video an thank you for explain more of the detail about Jann Mardenborough and the Protaganist in the new film.
Watched the movie and it got me so emotional. What an absolute legend
Lucas Ordoñez is the OG Gran Turismo Academy driver
Could say the same for Isack Hadjar. I raced him on F1 2019/20 and now he is in F2
The real story is so impressive, the film was great, I have no gripes
There is nothing more heartbreaking than victory that comes in exchange for the death of one person.
Tbh the movie was like a 6.5, maybe a 7, and it has so much potential
For me it 5 out of 10 at best
I wanna say, it surprised me when i saw how well he did in the Toyota Racing Series in 2013, especially because he could not deliver in European F3 that same year
This was a good mini documentary. I think he deserved to have an episode. I thought the movie was surprisingly good myself.
Jimmy Broadbent also has a story I would like to watch a movie about
That was a Great Inspiring Movie! Could be a Classic! Has your Basic Karate Kid Theme of Teacher/Mentor and Underdog/Student.
Respect and thanks for making a vid on this topic, and as always it’s a great vid
AMAZING movie, didn’t even know all this happened.
I hope Jann gets a reliable and competitive drive somewhere 😊
Great Vid...Great story. Looking forward to seeing the film. Thanks
I cant believe its been a over decade since that first GT Academy, damn
Damn just think if he could have started in real cars a couple of years earlier. But a Le Mans podium is brilliant stuff nothing to scoff at
I watched it and it’s so good it was my most fav movie so good even the crash’s btw how did you sell underwear’s for 1 month to get that racing wheel thingy
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR A LIKE THAT MEANS SO MUCH FOR ME
This is a fantastic documentary.
I got to see the Gran Turismo movie about him 2 weeks before the movie was released because I got tickets to the preview which I think were expensive and I saw it with some of my friends on august 11th, I’m in the us by the way
Just got to meet jann today, really nice guy
This movie inspired me to conquer my fear of driving and ironically my first video game purchase was Gran Turismo on the PS1. Jann and I also share the same birth year (1991) his story means a lot to me.
If you want a NASCAR story like this check out William Byron
Byron was a very different story. He wasn't a poor sim racer who won a contest then went pro. He was a well-funded kid who had a real-life racing career going at the same time that he played iRacing. He came from a rich family who had business connections. That's what pushed his career forward, not sim racing.
Byron wasn't and isn't poor, his dad owns a car financing firm worth 890 million. And Byron lived in the same neighborhood as Jimmie Johnson
"Byron was poor" lol. Look up "Byron Financial LLC, North Carolina"
@@TMVideoProductions not to mention. LIBERTY UNIVERSITY bankrolled his entire career from late models up

Not gonna lie, As a story of Rise and Falls, I think Jimmy Broadbents life would make for an interesting watch, Especially after what he achieved with Praga
Where is Jimmy Broadbent’s movie coming out?
The very thin triggering me the most was the LeMans race. They literally raced half on the Hungaro ring! That was not LaSarthe for the most part. The rest was fine. But the track action… ugh… that bothered me with the inaccurate tracks.
I watched it today as well and I thought it was freaking awesome
The movie wasnt the best made, but I enjoyed it and that's how I found this video. Great story :)
"Sim racecar drivers can be real racecar drivers."
Can't wait til they come out with the iRacing movie about William Byron. He's... gotten a little bit further in his racing career than Jann did, despite not starting racing in actual cars until he was 15. Jann's a cool guy though, I got to chat with him when he was racing in Super GT
The movie gave me a whole new respect for racers.
Awesome info man, thanks!
Very nicely summarised
I’m interested to know if you have viewed any other of Josh’s 14:02 14:02 videos
And further have you critiqued any other F1 you tubers videos?
I’m thinking perhaps not but I could be incorrect
Yes it’s constructive criticism but maybe a little over the top at the same time
Look forward to hearing from you
The one thing I found the most insulting was when they removed the Ford Chicanes from Circuit de la Sarthe and put in some ridiculous S-bend before the finish line. Surely they could've done the podium-winning pass in the Porsche curves or Karting?
The collab with Mr. ASMR himself was nice to see.
Talk about high hopes for the first chance on the track
