  • Being a rule-breaker, suffering postpartum depression and experiencing huge heartbreak. Paloma Faith unveils her vulnerable side to Jamie, delving deep into her head and her heart.
Paloma has a distinctly unique perspective on life which shapes her to be the singer-a songwriter and style icon we know today. Emotions flow as she shares her journey through heartbreak, the role resentment played in the breakdown of her decade-long relationship and the happiness she has found through the love of her kids.

I'm ashamed to say I've been so incredibly judgemental about Jamie and Paloma individually in the past but I can now honestly say they are the most wonderful people. Paloma is so open, honest, articulate, and pure, and Jamie is so considerate and you could see and hear the real interest, passion and understanding he had towards Paloma as a person. This interview was so wonderful, beautiful, such an eye opener and I now have an absolute respect for both. Jamie's interview technique is spot on and deserves all the recognition it can get!!!

The strange thing is if you listen to the early part of the podcast she tells it like it was all an accident and she was working in a bar and never meant to get into the music industry, then later on she confesses how driven and competitive she was, even from an early age. I just can't reconcile those two versions.

@@catinthehat906 She's always been driven and competitive but singing came late for her. Her early training was in dance and art, not music. She's always said that she was involved in a lot of different things, but it was the singing that took off.

Working a full time Job, keeping the house running, making sure the kids have everything they need. Sorting birthdays, dinners, clothes, parties, school clubs. We don’t get a break and have to put a front on 24/7 if you say you need a break your frowned upon… we’re all burning out….

The reason women got equal paychecks was less to do with feminism ...IMO corporations saw an opportunity to pay less to one person (a man back in the day) who had been able to support a family of 4 in a 2 up 2 down home on a single paycheck. Albeit toys/white goods were much scarcer and way more pricey they were produced by workers who could afford stability for home/family and IMO less plastic waste/built in obsolescence is better for everyone.

I am actually glad I listened to the whole of this because I had pre-conceived ideas on how I thought this would go down and I was totally wrong. I wonder if Paloma gets overwhelmed when what she gives out isn’t given back even though she doesn’t want it initially to begin with or that’s never her intention because she has a good heart and just wants to care for people and make them feel good. I once watched an interview with Joan Collins on the Queen Latifah show and an audience member asked Joan what she thought about being involved romantically with someone who wasn’t in the same position financially, emotionally or had the same ambitions and goals as them and Joan, to my surprise, put it so beautifully. When your love you share the pot whatever that be even if your putting more in. If you love that person then you make it work and accept them for who they are and what they bring to the table. It cannot be measured.

Apart from retraining with reality earnings/parent's money to become an engineer/human rights lawyer/plumber/electrician/charity fund raiser couldn't Jamie work tomorrow delivering mail, collecting rubbish, gardening, picking fruit, deliveroo, building site work etc etc etc?! Likeable as Jamie is his entitled upbringing and education shows how oblivious he is re reality of most people doing jobs they don't love eg 90% of people would love to have a paycheck for chatting to those they admire for an hour or more.

What a beautiful interview Poloma and Jamie. I went through separating from the father of my kids and it took such a long time to find me again. I'm so glad your talking about being a mum and everything you said is so true!!!! Jamie, thank you for listening and open with your heart.

I love learning about what people are truly like and Paloma is everything I’d hoped for. Her music is fantastic but so is her honesty. You did a fantastic job J 👍

What an incredible interview. She is just amazing. Honestly and unapologetically honest and raw.

Saw Paloma live - so sweet, so humble, so grateful to her fans. Madge could learn a lot from her.

This found me 😳…it was brilliant, obviously I fell in love with Paloma on The Voice , loved her music but felt the show let us see more of her intelligence and humour. Listening today made me admire her even more. I love my darling wifey so much and yes I’m totally aware that the love my wifey has for me is much less…. I look at my wifey with eyes of a new love it has never changed only I have realised the power love holds is different for everyone. Yes I wish she loved me as much as I love her but I can’t do anything about it.
It’s clear she is an incredible Mum and keeping a relationship with an x is key with children.
Congratulations on a great video xx
