I have to say Ryan you and your team who make these videos do a great job. I follow probably 25 channels on youtube and I pretty much only watch this one regularly. Well Done.
Wow - thanks Adam! ~RF9
I'm in the US so it doesn't translate into business for you but many thanks for well made, informative and useful videos that are not afraid to call a spade a spade. I like that you don't mind antagonizing your vendors by calling them out when the product doesn't deliver. Keep it up Ryan and the team!
Probably the best motorcycle tire review I've ever seen or read. It explains why the various tire are good, what they are good for, and why they are good at it, with no extraneous marketing fluff. Excellent job Ryan
Very detailed videos man, keep it up! I like hearing your theory's about how things may work and that it doesn't seem like u just read off the features.
thanks for the video, Ryan. I have the S21's on my R6 and the first ride home on them I kept thinking how slow the turn in was...it has definitely gotten better after break-in but I am definitely getting the diablo's next. thanks again, and keep up these great videos!!
side note: I just put the Shinko 804/805's on my Africa Twin and I love them! thanks for the recommendation!
raise the fork tubes in the triple. Your geometry might be shit
Great videos man! I'm a big fan. Yet another high-quality piece to my research arsenal.
Great stuff! you made the EXACT comparison I was just looking for! (s21 vs rosso 3). thank you.
Great review man! Keep em coming!
Really enjoyed listening to that. Hats of to you!
Best tire reviews. Love it.
Dude, you are very professional. Excellent review.
Just subscribed. Enjoy the yearly tyre updates and unbiased opinion. Currently running M7RR having been Supercorsa SP for last 2 years & getting fed up with lack of wet grip. As a road tyre only the M7RR are excellent especially in poor conditions
What a great video. You know your stuff and do a great job conveying the knowledge. Rosso 3s it’s gonna be for my FZ09
Bro you always have excellent information with amazing quality thank you
Thank you for making this!
Hi Ryan great review on sports tyres, keep up the good "work" buddy 🏍😎
You're going to have to do a part 2 and add the new Michelin Power RS... Good video and keep up the good work.
This was a good review! Thanks!
Thanks for doing your homework great reviews , K2 for track-days and I"m keeping M7RR 's
excellent review... keep it coming.
great video as usual guys
I love your videos. Thank you.
I went "suddenly" from the OEM's on my Yamaha -- something from BRidgestone, but I don't remember the model -- to Q3's because I picked up screws in both tires on my way to a Track Day... And Dunlop was sponsoring the Day, so I put them on and took off!
It was my first Track Day EVER! I had almost 40 years of 'riding experience'...but it was on the 'standards' of the 70's and 80's -- Kawa 2-stroke triples & KZ900 & KZ650, etc.-- and then 'cruisers'...until my FZ1. I was 'almost' like a new rider...getting to know that kind of HP and the differences in tire design as well as weight-saving and frame stiffness, etc.
But by lunch time, I was knee-dragging and 'going to the edge' on the tires. I was amazed at the difference in confidence I had in the Q3's over OEM..!! And I have been riding Q3's for over 3 years now...and interested what the changes to the Q3+ will do.
But...I got a set of Rosso Corsa's for Christmas -- I LOVE my Brother! -- and even though I only have a few 100 miles on them so far, I have been Very pleased, and totally confident to also 'go to the edge' with them. They gobble up twisty mountain roads, like the well known "Tail of the Dragon" in western N. Carolina, allowing me to 'keep up' with the full supersports of all but a very few very skilled riders...
Not bad for a 65 year old Retired Marine, with a fractured back, artificial rt hip and left knee..!! But Still Loving to Ride!
I was VERY Pleased with your reviews! And I think you did an excellent job! And I am surprised that the Q3's were "not worth reviewing" because these new tires are that much better! I have run Metzlers on my 'cruiser' for years, but haven't thought of them as "Sport/Racing" tires...
Floyd Burdett a
We are ALL cheap bastards :-)
Great video man!
Best tire reviews. Keepem coming please 👍
lookin classy mah boy
Great review! I had M7 rr and now Sport attack 3.
Alex Pessina Hey I have a 2016 R1 and my stock tire is shot after 2500 miles, no track days alot of mountain, canyon and highway rides in all weather. been reading a lot and the m7rr looks like my Top Choice what kind of bike do you ride and how many miles are you getting out of it and would you recommend it for me?
Hello, with my CB1000R the M7RR last around 3500 miles. I think for the R1, no track days, the M7RR can be a good choice for ride in all weather.
Thanks for this review
Man you have really good camara presence, and are very well spoken. Someone needs to pick you up as a spokesmen asap.
ANother great info! My Rosso2's are almost worn out, will put in the Rosso 3s
Nice review!
Awesome review
I've got two track days and about 1000 miles of mountain roads on my s21's on my FZ09 and they still look brand new. Great tire for naked bikes that don't need to be leaned over as far as supersports.
We NEED more videos like this is 2024. Please bring bvack these types of comparison videos!!!
Ryan, your Sport Bike Tires of 2016 is STILL your 5th most watched video of all times - you should consider expanding the video, maybe talk more about different manufacturers. Kneedraggers and track junkies crazy about tire specs and their quirks.
Great video thanks !
I've always had the Michelin pilot powers and wish too change !
Go metzler
My go to for my bikes on the street has been the pirelli diablo rosso 3 for years now. I love how fast and responsive the change in direction is. I like to ride really hard on the tight twisties here in the north of italy and they feel absolutely amazing. To be fair I haven't really ridden many other street sport tires but I stand by the pirellis. Keep in mind they are not made for mileage though... I used them on a track day on my mt07 once too and they performed really well even on the limit. They did get a little squirrely on corner exit once though.
Your videos are great Ryan (and F9 team) May I say...industry standard(?)
So the Conti Sport Attack is the best tire to get me to Tim Horton's the fastest, rain or shine. Good to know.
Back in the early 80s when I first started riding sport bikes, I was lucky to get 3K km on the street. I have Sport Touring tires now that stick better than those and also last 15K km on the street. Amazing progress.
Good info! Lets see sport touring tires next!
I second that! I'm in Saskatchewan.......not hittin any twisties here, just want something that lasts!
practically everyone
rosso 3 10000km
angel gt 20000km?
Arne Hurnik For street riding sport touring tires has all the grip you'll need. The only disadvatage is sluggish handling. I'm hoping to see sportier touring tires in the future. At the moment my hopes lie on ContiRoadAttack 3... continuous compound and supposed to be sharper profile than the previous roadattack2
i have a 1000rr and i literally just ordered the rosso 3s yesterday lol,
We need a 2018 revised video
more like a 2020 one
@@CaptainJezzaHams 2021 soon
Man you should be sponsored or something.
Awesome review
Hey Ryan, have you thought about coming out to the Track this summer? Would be nice to see a VideoLog from a track day/race weekend. CSBK looks good this year. Also, you should do a tire review on Lightweight motorcycle tires, as more and more manufactures are offering pretty sporty bike, and they are selling tons of them. If you want track comparison come out to Shannonville this summer for quality LWT motorcycle racing.
Hey Justin - yeah! I'm hoping to do a couple on-track videos this year. Shannonville would be awesome. ~RF9
If you happen to need/want a LWT bike and want to run in a Production or Sportsman class let me know. We can probably hook you up with a weekend....for a small some, or some sponsorship if you wish
Great video, but you should get the front tires in the test aswell :)
Hi Ryan! Really love yours video! Keep up! and Thanks! Im riding Zx10r2k16 . Doing only Top speed straight line and just some curves on streets.. Rs10 do the milage well and really need warm up! Shall i jump on another Name since S21 still good in all" budget ?!! Big Thanks again!
Hi Ryan and everyone else in Fort F9, thanks for yet another super video! I was wondering would there be a possibility for a newbie corner, or newbie top pick (top 5 plus 1 newbie). Most of the gear you show works best on these awesome high performance expensive bikes, but what happens with us guys just learning to enjoy while trying not to crash in the next corner. We have lower power bikes, and drive less aggressively but need help with control in various situations (so for example a slow tire, but super mega sticky with easy turning). Of course safety would be our most important thing, so if you are talking about helmets, I would always choose noisier over less stars on Sharp test or if you are talking jackets, I would most likely get the one with most protection over water proofness, as it's ok to get a little wet while on the road, but not ok to have less then max safe protectors. Also since I am not so much formed rider, there is a high chance I might just explore something else then my old touring Yamaha XJ 600 (yeah this is how much newbie I am) and there is a good chance I will change most of my equipment soon enough - so spending too much money on pro touring helmet if I go to the offroad world would not be a smart move I guess.
Any thoughts on this ? Super thanks for any feedback !!!
PS. I know there is a milion of web sites offering these advices, but the reason why I am bugging you is because you seem to make one of the best fact based videos there are, and this is what we need. Also some tips on fitting this equipment would be great (example - ua-cam.com/video/XLx10TKtqsY/v-deo.html just more rules or facts that I can check while trying on).
Hi Milos! That's a great idea- we're definitely looking at getting more beginner videos on the channel. I'm actually shooting one in the next couple days, so that should be up on youtube eventually! Ride safe out there. ~RyanF9
Awesome thanks :) If you ever need some feedback or ideas feel free to always reach out. Would be super glad to give something back :) Ofc I dont have infinite amounts of time but would love to help out :)
I have the S21's on my Speed Triple. Can confirm they are a great tire. The don't spin much on corner exit even with the torque the 1055 puts out. Just ordered the new S22's for my R6. Fingers crossed I can find a shop open to mount it.
The 2015 R1 has RS10 stock. I used those and they were good, I had no problems with them. I did something over 160 in the rain and had good cornering. Now I use 2ct. They are not as fast as the RS10, but they are also pretty good in the rain, did 100 mph rain cornering without problems. I have video of myself doing that on the 2ct. I think the reason that people say street race tires aren't good in rain is that they don't know how to ride in rain well.
Quick question man, i would like to take my bike to the track often this up coming season(got gsxr 600 2002). I got my tire warmers and all the shizzle, im not the fastest rider out there but a rookie either.
My budged is not big, in fact ill try to get by with least as possible. Which tire would you recommend for me, keep in mind that tire will be only used at the track, i have good set for that next season for my street riding.
Just want to say thanks for the videos u are making, cant believe u are almost 70k subs now, im subscriber since 6k and was wondering why the hell arnt more people subing to this sick channel, i guess its getting better and better now. Keep up the good work.
Hey Deyan! Cool to chat with a sub since 6k... guess you've been around for a while! If you're only going to use the tire at the track, and you've got warmers, why not go for a slick? They're usually cheaper than street-legal tires and have amazing grip when heated properly. Something like this (fortnine.ca/en/shinko-008-road-race-slick-rear-tire). If you want something that you *could* use on the road, however, or if you want something that will perform alright if it rains during your track day, the Dunlop Q3 offers the most grip for your dollar (fortnine.ca/en/dunlop-sportmax-q3-rear-tire). Cheers! ~RyanF9
Thanks, i wish prices here in europe were the same as over there, especially the discounts! :)
all the info i need, none of the bullshit i dont. another awsome video
Q3s been out for a while, figured that's why you didn't mention them again. They haven't done me wrong and for my skill level they will do. I think skill has a lot to do with what tire you run.
"You can't have your donut and eat it too" has to be the most Canadian thing I've heard Ryan say! Ha
I love your videos and I don't even own a motorcycle!!
Rockin the S21 at the moment. I'm thinking about switching to the RS10's next season, but I usually ride my bike to the track, have a good time, and ride straight back h ome. Even in the wet, so maybe I'll make peace with the slightly slower lap time and forgo the need to get a second set of when for when it get's wet...
Also it's indeed slightly slower on the turn in (compared tot the S20evo) , but give back so much confidence :) and slips the rear very gradually when exiting to aggressively
Good review m8!
I live in Greece. The roads here are verry slippery. Not much rain tho.
I own an YZF R6 - 2005 model. Continental Sport Attack 3 is the best option you think? :P
Edit: No race day for me! There is not even a single race near by :D
Hey Alexander! Yep, Sport Attack 3 would be my first choice. The M7 RR is a close second... if you can find it for much cheaper than the Continental, it's probably worth a look. ~RyanF9
Awesome video! explaining a lot. I have a question: I have a 250+ kg bike (Yamaha BT1100), and i want to feel pretty safe, in any condition: cold (up to 0 celsius), wet, rain, emergency stops, etc. I'm not going too fast on a straight but i 120 Kmph is normal speed in my city. Should i buy sport tires for my bike or it's better keep my Pirelli Angel GT and save a money, coz i can replace it just once in two years. Are sport tires better in cold weather?
Thank you a lot for the videos!
Thanks! It's better to stick with a sport-touring tire like the Angel GT... they last longer and usually perform better in wet and cold weather. *But* there are better sport-touring tires out there for performance in low-grip situations than the Angel GT. Most notably the Metzeler Roadtec 01, which is stellar. ~RyanF9
Nice video man. Just 1 question.
I know it depends on the bike and tip of riding but how many klm do you reckon the front and back S21 would do? And the rosso3?
Both will wear out faster then a Bt 016 pro?
Thanks
I reckon about 7500 miles on the S21 rear, double that on the front. The Diablo Rosso 3 is shorter lived (but stickier) at about 5500km. Those BT-016s are definitely the longest lasting... people report north of 10 000km quite regularly for a rear tire. Hope that helps! ~RyanF9
Hi Ryan. Need your expertise. I ride an 07 CBR600RR in the warm Med of South Italy. It hardly rains here and can reach early 40s in the summer. I ride on coastal roads at the weekend (have kids) and pretty much never in the rain. What tyre would you recommend? I've had M5 Sportec but they didn't last that long so probably looking to hop brands and try something new. Cheers and keep up the good work :)
Ryan F9.... thanks for the help👍🏻..... what’s your thoughts on RS10 vs Q3+...? Looking for new tires for my R1
Hey Ryan, is the Angel GT's profile similar to the Rosso 3? Any advantages of going rosso 3 vs angel gt on purely road riding on an rsv4 factory?
I wont put those in a 200cv bike. Go to supercorsa, rs10 or racetec rr.
i have the Pirelli diablos, might go for the Bridgestones next time
they feel a wee bit light in the front
Hello, thank you very much for the videos, I've learned a lot from them,I want to ask a question, if you can help me, please. I have a cbr 600rr ABS of 2011, And I'm thinking about buying some tires, for my moto.
I'm thinking of buy one set of
Michelin pilot power 2CT..
What do you think about these tires?
Very successful, with your videos, I will continue to follow them all..
Thank u very much.
Talking purely street riding, I did ~8300km with the RS10 and it was done. I'm at 8000km on the S21 and it still looks almost new. I have yet to see how long they'll last considering I probably won't hit the track with them this year.
Hi, which motocycle do you ride? Are you agressive rider with a lot of cornering? I ask because can't decided about new tyre looking for Michelin PP3 and S21and want something with mileage greater than 7000 km, grate grip and ability to take 1 or maybe 2 days of track easy riding and learn cornering...now I have new Dunlop RoadSmart 3 on my Honda CBR 600..tnx for info!
Matjaž Ravbar hi, I ride a 2016 zx-10r.
I'm leaning quite a bit on the streets and I race from time to time (closed course), although I haven't done any track days with the S21. You will easily exceed 7,000km with them IMO.
those are quite optimistic figures for a bike with more than 150 horses, maybe you are incredibly smooth on the gas but my rear s21 will probably die in less another thousand km and it has about 5000. still impressive but over 8000k is more on the sport touring range.
I havent tried the RS10 yet but being in the same range as the pirelli supercorsa sp i can tell you there is no way in the world you can get 8300k out of them, i got about 1800k out of a set of supercorsas, a friend with a zx10 got 1500k. even if the RS10 last double its still 3000k, and im pretty sure they dont last that long.
if your bike is on the 100hp range then you may get about 7000-8000k out of the s21, but bikes like mine (175hp) are tyre eaters
iTxip my zx-10r does roughly 180 rwhp. I have to say I ride pretty smoothly though since I'm the only bike alike in the area (the cops all know where I live already).
Riding VERY smooth you may get 8000k from a s21, PP3 or something similar (20/80 track/road), but anything in the 50/50 track/road range is pretty much imposible. supercorsas, RS10, metz RR k3, dunlop q3.
and thats fine cause you have to neglect any margin of error for safety to actually need the grip those tyres give on public roads, and they must be pretty hot and sunny to heat them properly, supercorsas on cold/wet roads give 0 confidence. its the best tyre i have tried for canyon riding in summer. i crashed because i ran out of ground clearance before i ran out of grip, they are THAT grippy
Hi, I enjoy your job. For the race-track what do u prefer? RS10 or supercorsa SP?
this channel is soooo under subscribed for the quality of the content! what gives?
+FortNine Hey there,I have a question unrelated to the motorcycle topic. How crucial is one's ability to speak and write french in Quebec Province and is english good enough for beginning? I'm really thinking about moving there so any tips would be helpful. BTW Keep up the great work, hopefully I'll start riding soon.
Hello! If you're thinking about moving to Montreal, it's not necessary to speak French as so many people here speak English. But elsewhere in Quebec, especially in smaller towns, you'll need to be able to converse en francais. Also, even in Montreal, it's worth learning French once you get here! ~RyanF9
I run Pirelli Diablo Rosso on a Triumph speed triple, they cope the best with the torque, the Racetec was bald and bits falling from it in 2000km
Track day bro!
No Conti Race Attacks? I've tracked them about 3 times and I was very happy with them.
I would love to hear your thought on the Michelin Pilot Power 3...I am having a tuff choice deciding on a set of tyres so far the Continental Sport Attacks make the most sense on paper but I have used the road attacks and didn't love them. So for 600cc bike that does aggressive street riding and the occasional track day would you go with the Power 3 's, Sport Attacks or something else. Not too worried about price. p.s I have only ever been disappointed in Bridgestones so not to crazy about going there...would love to hear your thoughts, thanks.
I went from Diablo supercorsas to sportec M7, felt like a 5 year old that just had the training wheels removed leaving the ducati dealers parking lot. I got them broke in now must say amazing tire.
Todd Baker hey Todd I have a 2016 R1 my stock tire is shot after 2500 miles looking at the end 7rr Metzler has my Top Choice what kind of bike do you ride and how many miles you getting? No track days for me just a lot of mountain and Canyon rides would you recommend Metzeler m7rr?
Please Checkout the Pirelli Diablo Rosso Scooter and the Pirelli Angel Scooter. They're really great tires for scooters according to many people but I haven't actually got any reliable source from that. I trust fortnine with whatever motorcycle buys I do. Thank you for creating such great contents.
i have the conti attack 1 on my 2013 tuono v4, best looking tyre on the market and love the grip and feed back from the tyre, i must just add that i only got about 5500km from the rear middle, the sides can do more, the front is still great and will out last another rear tyre eazy
thinking about testing the power 2CT next just because of mileage
Wow 4 trackdays on one tyre! Dude my supercorsa SC0 last me 200km on the track!!! What bike do you ride snd do u use tyre warmers? Great vid, cheers from portugal :)
SC0 is the softer compound in the Supercorsa line. It will wear out very quickly.
Yes I know is soft.Im from algarve-south of portugal and its usualy very hot here thats why me and my friends using a SC0 best tyre for our conditions. But I dont mind trying some other soft tyres, coz I like I said SO0 last me max 250km on the track and its expensive :( Cheers bro!
I don’t know if you guys get the Dunlop ALPHA 13 Z but those tyres are awesome
Another awesome review! RyanF9, what would you recommend for a street only rider that does ~70% commuting and 30% canyon carving? I know a sport touring tire would probably be better but I was thinking between Bridgestone S21 and Metzeler M7 RR.
I would probably take the M7 RR between the two. It lasts longer and will perform better in crappy conditions (which you're bound to run into as a commuter). Also might be worth checking out the Pilot Power 3... good mileage but still quicker than a true sport-touring tire. Hope that helps! ~RyanF9
Thanks!
I’ve watched this video at least 30 times.
Great review! For UK roads what would you recommend?
I'm leaning towards the Bridgestone S21...Or should I try Continental Spott Attack 3? :/
I ride a 750 Gsxr. Thanks in advance! :)
I'd try the Sport Attack 3 or Metzeler's M7 RR. Both tires perform very well in the rain, which I gather you get a lot of over there.. ~RyanF9
+FortNine So I should skip the Bridgestone S21? That's good in the rain as well and I can squeeze out quite a lot of miles from it! (At least that's what people are saying. ..)
I've never been to a track before and I'm fairly new rider as well with 2 years experience, so I'm not going to speed all the time..:)
Thx for your reply! If you still recommend the Metzeller tyres, probably I'll go for them!
I still have the original Bridgestone Battlax 16 on the bike, so I'm guessing any of these tyres will be better than those! :)
Yes, you will definitely notice an improvement over your 16s! As for the S21 in the rain, you're right. It's "good." But something like the M7 RR is much better in the wet (and usually lasts longer than an S21, too). Where you'll see the benefit of the S21 is in the dry... it'll run circles around the Metzeler on a sunny day. I guess it just depends whether you value dry performance or wet performance! Anyway, you can't go wrong. Both tires are fine for each environment, they just excel in different ones. ~RyanF9
FortNine Thank you very much for your detailed reply! So it looks like I will choose between these 2 tyres! I'll check some user reviews as well before I'll make my decision! Keep up the good work! :)
Hi Ryan, can you review the Mitas Sport Force+? I had a good experience with them on my DRZ but hesitating to get it for my FZ10 that's used for touring, commuting and occasional track. I would be however, getting a track oriented motorcycle in the near future but currently need a tire that I can take the FZ10 on the track with and still commute in rain or shine.
Hi RyanF9
We have hot weather most of the year, what you recommend ? I do street cornering most of the time, tracks maybe onesie or twice a year.
And it's for the s1000rr 2016
I ride a 959 Panigale. What do you recommend for a tire that I will use primarily on the street with a track day about once a month?
Mileage is a priority!
5 thousand miles on s21's front tire has life left rear tire is worn to indicators. Good sticky tire for the price. I do have 2 minor burn outs on my rear lol. Would def buy them again.
Please make a 2020 version of this video!!
Hey Ryan, I ride the torquey k6 gsxr1000 and I'm not down for killing tires but I like to go fast. The best set of twisties are the 327 and I'm in Montréal so 50-80km. I was thinking Pirelli angel gts. What do you think? It's more for dry performance and Montréal performance :-)
Angel GTs would be a good choice! I'm partial to the M7 RR if you're balancing mileage with performance on a sport tire. But you might also consider the Roadtec 01 (ua-cam.com/video/w1leVfe5EGg/v-deo.html) if you're open to touring tires. Brilliant fun that, and should last a long ways even on your gixxer. ~RF9
I currently with PR3 front now, almost wear out and thinking to change a little bit sport tyre. Which i should go for front? My consideration now which is S20 or S21.
I think your link for the rosso 3 is broken. it send me to the Bridgestone bt-016
Right you are - thanks for noticing that :) ~RyanF9
Hey Ryan, where does the Diablo Rosso Corsa sit against the Rosso III and S21? It used to be Supercorsa > Corsa > Rosso II (i.e Race, RoadRace, Road). ...but adding the Rosso III into the mix, i'm not sure if it excels over the Corsa in any way other than mileage & wet grip. Keen to hear your thoughts.
RR means race replicas not race ready .. but yeah I get the rubber you're laying down..good video sir!
I can't decide between the s21's and the Rosso III's. I commute a lot but I do like to have confidence in the tire during leans. I'm also planning a track day next month. which tire would best suit me?
I've got the Ross IIIs on my Daytona R, I like them but they're really stiff compared to the Racetec K3s I had before, even running lower pressures still hasn't solved the harshness I feel over bumps.
Hello Ryan,
What are you thoughts about the Metzeler Roadtec 01?
For a semi beginner rider. Do you think I should get a soft stickier tire or a longer lasting firmer tire?
Probably longer lasting. Most beginners won't feel the full benefit of an ultrasoft tire, but they *should* rack up enough miles to kill a long-lasting tire. The M7 RR is kind of a compromise between both worlds, by the way. ~RyanF9
Question regarding Metzeler Racetec RR; Which compound are you reviewing in the video? There are 3 and I'm a bit confused. if it was mentioned anywhere in the video or comments please forgive me ;)
@fortnine diablo rosso Corsa or the Rosso 3? i have an R1 and I have been loving the Rosso Corsa, what is your view, i ride on the wet if necessary and do the odd racetrack
Which bridgestone tire for frequent road use and occasional track day(2-4 per year probably) use?
S21! ~RF9
Ryan, what do you think about mixing tires.
Was thinking s21 rear with rs10 front. for a 07 gsxr1k
with the RR do you need to use tyre warmers? i ran supercorsa SP tyres that just won't warm up. in Australia our track day sessions are only 8 minutes long.
Hey, I ride a versy 650 and currently have Diablo Rosso 3 on my front and the original on the rear.
I want to replace the rear one and was thinking on the Angel GT.
Wanted to know if these will work good together.
Hi RyanF9,
What do you think of the Michelin Pilot Power?
Eric
It's a good tire, but I prefer the Bridgestone S21. They do about the same job, but the S21s are faster and cheaper. Only reason to go with the PP3 would be if you ride in the rain a lot, as it's slightly better in the wet. Of course in that case, an M7 RR or Sport Attack 3 would be an even better choice. All that to say, the Pilot Power is a good tire but I can't see a reason to choose it. ~RyanF9
What about milages RyanF9? PP3 vs S21 and Sport Attack 3 ? What mileages I can expect for 70 % sport-turing riding, 30% canyon carving + 1 - 2 "easy riding" track days ? Have honda CBR 600F 2013...
the power 3 lasts longer, and is better on the rain/wet/bad tarmac, still, metzeler m7, is every bit as good in bad conditions and better in the dry but has a shorter life.
i prefer the s21 to the pp3, i think im trying the rosso 3 next, or maybe ill get another set of s21, i dont know. Im loving the front tyre of the s21, feels very planted always, but the rear i do notice a lil bit of spining/slipping sometimes, nothing scary, i think of it of a reminder that theres a limit somewhere nearby. its like the tyre is telling you "dude you are running out of back tyre grip". thats a nice thing on a tyre :)
Eric Walker they are good. I was running them on street also have done five or six different Club track days. I feel like the dunlops are much more predictable and a better set up. when michelin's break loose, they break loose. Dunlops are much more controllable and predictable skid.imo
tire size is very important...I don't know what u are running but on my gsxr750 and R6 I'm running 190 60 17... will liven up that chasie and give u more available traction IMO!
