    I'm Jealous, I'm jealous because after reading data, living and riding motorcycle over 35 years I can not explain myself as good as you can in 9 mins of video. What I can say is I have ridden on the streets over 200,000 miles. With all the data I consumed and I riding I have learned this. I can't keep track of all the tire options off the top of my head as tires have changed through the years. But this is the advice I give younger riders. Never delay tire replacement if you ride fast and aggressive. Also for years I would buy sport tires and then I moved to Florida and bought Sport Touring tires to delay the FLAT SPOT from riding straight roads there. BIG MISTAKE, on a 130HP bike. Spend the money on Sport tires and not Sport Touring tires if you like to hammer on the gas and also like to lean over. Save money in other areas. And don't ride till tires are totally worn out. Trust me, a good tire saves lives. Basic info but many I rode with worn the heck out of their tires and crashed eventually. GREAT JOB on your info videos

    I used the Metzler M5 on my Ducati multistrada 2013 and it lasted for 14,000 km and i loved everything about them, great grip, great speed, great when riding in rain. Just replaced them to the M7 and so far they feel good !!

    Excellent review! I'm a hard to impress, but I'd say your production value and delivery were top notch. I literal a had the SP V2's put on my 848 today, and instantly loved them! They heat up super fast, and the cornering grip provides tons of confidence. I agree they're rather pricy, but totally with it ...... that is assuming I get more than 2000 km's out of them. Keep up the good work.

    Very informative. I agree with the supercorsa reigning as the top sporty "street" tire. I, myself, began sport riding on the Bridgestone S20, then moved up to the Q3, and further onto the SP V2. Bang for buck, the Q3 can't be beat until you start sliding/pushing it around at the track.

    I got just over 2400 miles and two track days on the Bridgestones S20R Evos with lots left on them still. They are not track specialists but long term "real road riding sticky tires". Recommended.

    I appreciated this tire review. I have a little experience with the Michelin Pilot Power 3's. I've had two sets, and I liked them a lot. The most exciting and harrowing ride in the rain I've ever had, the most exhilarating ride I've ever had not on the track, was with the PP3's. They did fantastic. I was riding way too fast in a torrential downpour with small rivers crossing the mountain roads, and these tires did not let me down. That was within the first 200 miles of them being new. They do tend to wear oddly around the tread though, especially the front. While I realize that could be my suspension settings, I've heard that the Michelin's just do that. I'm not saying that's definite fact, just my experience and what I've heard. I've also gotten to use the Pirelli SP2's, and they are an amazing tire. 2 things about them though. While they are DOT legal, they are so much a track tire that they will crack in cold weather. 2nd, one of the best qualities aside from profile and grip is how predictable they are when sliding. If you like to bang down 4 gears and let the slipper clutch do it's thing while sliding sideways towards the back chicane at Daytona, these tires will feel stable while doing it. Again, great review! Thank you!

    I just used a pair of M7 rr on a Yamaha XJ6 (FZ6R) and it was fantastic. Best road tire for hitting corners and riding on any conditions. These tire allow you to ride safe with no drama at all on wet surfaces. On a dry surface it will provide enough grip even for a decent track day. My only complaint is about mileage, on my bike it lasted 7.500km. But to be honest, its not that bad considering the weight of my bike.

    I love Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa tires but have switched to Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa tires as they are as good as the Supercorsa for grip in "spirited" back road riding but are cheaper, a little better in the wet and last longer.

    Just swapped out my 8k mile PP3s for a set of Sportmax Q3s and omg, what a difference. They are sticky and fairly soft so you'll only get about half the mileage out of them than you would get on a street tire like the PP3. The PP3 is definitely more of a hooligan tire though. Things get squirrelly but they're a fun tire on the street

    This year I bought my Repsol CBR1 SP and it came standard with Perilli V2 Super Corsas. No track days yet. I currently have as of this post 4,958 miles with at least 500-1000 more left of the tread. I have at least .5mm left before start touching spacers. That line about replacing every 2Kkm is BS. I ride hard, fast and wheelie the piss out of 'em. I take it easy at times as well. Perilli's are the way to roll.

      I have tried them and they are fantastic. I rode few times under heavy rain (tropical country) and they perform just like a sport touring tire. On dry surface the grip is more than enough for any street riders to go crazy. Not even one scary moment with them.

      fala thiago br aqui tbm hahaha . cara to querendo pegar um par dos m7 , eu tenho uma zx10r e uso só supercorsa (3 par já). so ando em estrada e deito o cabelo nas curvas , chuva eu evito o maximo hahaha
      preciso de um pneu que dure mais , os SC nao passam de 4 mil km e só gastam de lado. oq vc me diz vale a pena ?

    • @tmrthiago
      @tmrthiago 7 років тому

      Anderson Nilo beleza Anderson ? se seus pneus gastam as laterais antes do meio, o M7 pode não ser uma boa escolha. O traseiro tem as bordas macias em cima de uma base mais rígida (mesmo composto do centro). No seu caso poderia ser um Rosso Corsa (composto sc2 nas bordas) ou até mesmo o M5 que tem um preço muito bom.

    Such great reviews, well spoken, subtle humour and super professional. 5*****
    On the review itself - of course, it all depends on riding style, weight, bike etc etc but I thought your picks were spot on.
    I personally ride the M7RR...I live in Finland...yeah....they heat up quickly and they forgive roads and blemishes...an amazing tyre! for me ofc. I ride a supermoto/naked, I push it in the twisties and have fun but sitll need the basic town stuff...perfect!
    The tyre which as the topic was "sport" I feel could have had a look in, is the two Continentals, the brand new Sport attack and the Road attack 2 evo which offers surprisingly good sport feel for the road...the sport attack could easily do a track day or two as well and seems to be the new kid on the block for sport tyres. Thanks Ryan. Be safe.

    I had the s20evos on my zx10r, they are Perfect for puplic road and good on track. I did 2500km with the rear tyre and 5000km with the front. Depends on your riding style (some go over 4000km rear/8000km front) they are 2013/2014. The new 2016 s21 are 30% better. Better grip, better performance on road and track and better mileage (up to 35% more) But if you want the PERFECT tyre to go fast and very good grip... I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Bridgestone RS10R... for me personaly the BEST tyre on the market for Road/Track, The only negative is that you sacrifice mileage. Road only max 1300-1500km rear, front about 3000km. If you go for a track 1-3 times you are done with them :)
    2 times track and some road 700km rear 1300 front :)

    I run a racetech front with my m7RR rear but I don’t ride in the rain. I do love the m7RR rear but have not tried the front due to it having so many cuts for water in it and this does take away from dry performance. I do not ride in the rain and when I get caught out in it all I need is a tire good enough to get me home slowly.

    I've always been a Bridgestone guy... no complains on Michelin tires that I used... But god, the Pirelli are so good.
    But, if you really ride fast and/or go on track, then is all a matter of personal feeling with the tires you like better.
    I do fine with Bridgestone and Pirelli and my friend on his R6 only goes with Dunlop.

    Grooves keep the tires colder?
    That's new information for about every tire manufacterer out there.
    Grooves= Less contact rubber= higher pressere=higher temperature
    That's why on the track we use slicks, because they don't overheat easily(which happens easier if they have grooves) but also because of the stiffer construction.

    everybody seems to forget the great tires Continental makes. I used my ContiSportAttack's already on 12 trackdays and I'm by far not a slow rider. (not uberfast yet though)
    They're still up to the task and still look almost like new.
    The wear is soooo slow, it's amazing.
    And the grip is more than adequate for most trackday riders.
    Even in wet it's not that bad.
    Then there's the even grippier Sportattack.....
    And eventhough their prices have gone up too much, what about the Maxxis Sportmaxx tires???
    They were awesome and lasted long too...

    • @HardSmartfuxu
      @HardSmartfuxu 8 років тому

      Contis are great by grip, but the dont last very long bc the profile is not that deep.
      But the grip is fantastic.

    • @lillnemo1
      @lillnemo1 8 років тому

      profile depth has no direct link to durability ( the deeper the profile, the quicker it CAN wear in fact!)
      conti's profile depth is the same as SIMILAR tyres from other brands.
      you ever seen the pirelli supercorsa's profile depth? michelin and bridgestone's sportstyres???
      they all have the same pattern depth...
      Dont know where you got that idea from????
      You clearly have no experience with the sportattacks...
      I'm still on the same set tyres after 18 trackdays and still going strong and dont use warmers
      Think I can squeeze at least another 3 or 4 days out of them before getting new tyres, just to be sure I aint risking too much on wet track
      You call that "tyres that dont last long???"
      My mate has similar sporty street tyres from another brand (think bridgestone, but not sure) and already NEEDS new tyres after 6 trackdays.
      His tyres give massive marbles and pickup, while the conti's always are SUPERCLEAN
      Supercorsa's last no more than 3 or 4 days and many riders only reach as far as TWO trackdays with them

    • @HardSmartfuxu
      @HardSmartfuxu 8 років тому

      well i didnt wanted to argue about experience..
      i rode them 2k miles and they were gone thats what i saw.
      now im riding the metzler rr 7 for about 3k miles and they have still enough profile for another 1k miles.
      thats my experience

    • @lillnemo1
      @lillnemo1 8 років тому

      appearently you do have firsthand experience with them, my apologies for my statement.
      as you said, the grip from the contisportattack's is fantastic, even "way" better appreantly compared to the metzeler m7RR's if you search the forums...
      that's probably why they wear faster than the metzelers
      a lot of folk believe the M7 is more sports-tour than supersport tyre, cause they wear less, have (way) less dry grip and better wet grip than most other "supersport" tyres ...
      a lot of supercorsa-riders only get 1000/1500miles out of the rear tyre
      that's what i call a tyre that doesnt last long, even for a supersport tyre.
      I can only say form my experience on the track and what I read on forums that the sportattacks wear slowly for a supersport/track-tyre compared to most other tyres.
      BTW, was thinking myself for putting new m7rr's on my Triumph Sprint ST.....
      Since it's my road-bike...

    Bridgestone R10 if you want a great track tire. Has to be used with tire warmers but has phenomenal grip. Not to be used on the street and must be kept hot to work properly. If you are a A group track day rider or racer this is the best tire for the money. I get a day out of them using a soft front and medium rear. Performance is consistent all day long and gives constant feedback unlike Michelin which will abruptly let go if track temps get above 85.
    Pirelli supercorsa SC (not sp) are the pirelli tires you want for the track but prices can range and the are more expensive than Bridgestone R10.

    Nice review, however I think the Pirelli Supercorsa SP is a little bit out of place here.
    These are all sport tires but the SP is more like a race tire with street homologation. The new Diablo Rosso III would fit better between those tires.

    The Diablo v2s were stock on my RSV4 rr... put over 4300 miles on them. There was a solid 500 miles of tread left on them. Great grip, but they did get a little squirrely riding the twisties on country roads. So, I'm replacing with the M7 rr set. Looking forward to seeing what they can do!

      good, my last pair of SC(previous version) last for 3000 miles till I reached markers, So Im obviously searching for longevity and I dont want to lose that super grip and handling of SC. I also had Rosso corcas before, same life span, handling very close to SC , better in rain/cold. Also tried BS BT 20evo, they went off so quick, there was still planty of material left, but the performace was horible, plus leaning was painful. PS: I have RSV4 too ;-)
