After watching your videos for years, you’ve greatly expanded the way I combine wardrobe elements and use color. Thank you for that. I started last year writing in my planner all the details of my wardrobe choice whenever I attended certain events or had a special occasion so I could make sure to not repeat. Now I’ve expanded it to include all but the most casual days at home. Whether have a luncheon with a friend or going to church, I can now flip back in my planner and see what I have worn lately, colors, jewelry, etc. it’s made dressing more fun. Now I try and see how long I can go without a repeat. The ladies at church all think I have a new wardrobe but I’m just wearing all the pieces that formerly hung in my closet unused.
Great ideas! I, myself, love to always wear something different to church. I mix and match as you do so it does leave the impression of new outfits. It’s just something I enjoy.
Living in Oklahoma City, we have days we call “Weather Aware” days, when severe weather is expected. I’ve also learned that cold fronts can come sooner than expected so on those days I always have an appropriate coat in my vehicle, just in case.
All the Ballet training created in me the habits of ;posture,grooming,clean tights and the correct shoes for whatever class. Then being prepared for any eventuality. Those ballet mistresses could be tough,but that training goes with me,every time I walk out the door. Loved the video❤

The nicest compliment I ever received from a man was “it’s a pleasure to sit next to a lady who smells so fresh this early in the morning”. We had boarded a crowded airport shuttle about 5:30 in the morning but I had got up with plenty of time to shower, shampoo/blow dry, brush and floss, and put on a little perfume. In other words, I did my daily routine. He sat between me and my colleague, who had informed me that she showered and shampooed only once a week!

I get complimented constantly by men and women when the hug me…they tell me I smell great. I shower every day, and I wear a mix of several essential oils that I use mostly for pain, but they smell scrumptious….and the ones hugging me also get a health benefit because I use only organic, therapeutic oils.

That’s exactly my routine. I checked the weather and I put all my pieces from my closet that are holiday pieces, black, red, and winter white on a rack. Then I try on different outfit ideas to figure out what I’m going wear. once I figured out the outfit I put together that I want to wear I put it in the front of the rack. I also do a second one just in case the first one is too warm. I live in the California desert and today it’s going to be 80° on December 16, it’s hard to wear really cute sweaters here unless you go out at night…🇺🇸☃️❄️🎄
Great tips, Gemma. For some reason, as I aged I can't wear perfume or cologne any longer. I am very sensitive to the fragrances. It irks me when I go to a restaurant and someone has an overwhelming amount of cologne on. People need to be aware of how much they use as you stated.
Or when they use perfume that has gone off - it’s very nasty, smells like mosquito repellent! 🙂
I am in the same situation, an allergic reaction to strong scents! I wish I wasn’t that way but I am. 🙁
As an asthmatic, all strong scents will bring on an attack and I must use an inhaler to breathe. It very often ruins a meal out and I can no longer attend movies or live theatre because of this.

Gemma, I love all your videos, but this has to be my favorite. Although I already know all of these, this video is like a quick reminder, especially the emergency sewing kit…a a couple of days ago, a button fell off from my vintage trousers, and a sewing kit would’ve been useful…a safety pin was used instead. 😊

I am facing hysterectomy surgery in late January and would love some advice for some comfortable but fashionable clothing that is soft and cozy and keeps me warm too (I’m in Canada. Leisure outfits just aren’t really a thing to buy here in Canada plus I don’t want to spend my entire 8 week recovery in loungewear. Also wanting advice on what to wear when someone comes to visit while in hospital or at home. I’d love a video about this! Thanks for considering it!

There is nothing worse than a woman who has an unpleasant odor. Perfume isn't always the answer. I'm amazed at the number of women who choose soaps, clothing or body, which are acidic or cloying. Then they put perfume on top of it!
