- The 306 GTi6 is back! It has been a year since its last track outing and now, after having a full cage fitted, it's back on track at Blyton Park on the Performance French Car / VWG magazine trackday.
The video shows Matt in the 306 GTi6 having some on-track battles with Alex in the Clio 172 and other friends in a DC2 Integra and MGZS180. Whilst the 306 lacks some straight line performance it has great corner speed and Matt more than makes up for the rest in standard sideways fashion.

5:20 sick driving!! lift off oversteer into a corner countersteering with one hand while changing to second gear and still making the next right hander....awesome!

Love watching the 306. Can't beat a bit of FWD drifting and the comically long gear shift. 4th gear is in the boot somewhere.

That dc2 integra is very composed, it’s no wonder why they are often regarded as being the best handling fwd car of all time!

You can tell the MG shares much of the same underpinnings as the Integra too. They both look so planted compared to their counterparts.

Your right they are fun cars the saloon been bettwr balanced over hatch in twisty stuff ..The V6 may only be 180bhp but bags n bags of torque but the power delivery..
2nd gear at 3kish..then 5k(if ya owned 1 then You know😉 if you want to know then go drive 1)

@@CamberandCombustion when you do, get onto 205 gti drivers forum and look up Sandy Brown race engines and Colin Satchell engineering. I have one of the former inlet manifolds on my 205 Mi16 with jenvey bodies, much better than the off the shelf jenvey inlets.

Camber and Combustion The cage adds some weight but the car should feel way more rigid, Especially on this chassis! Safety improvement is a side bonus ;-)

Think you get alot less engines problems on this sort of stuff on trackdays as near stock engines making around factory power. Looks A lot of fun in the 306.

@@mattlannoy2364 that is a bargain! 🔥🔥 the car does see a little bit of street time In the way of an occasional weekend blast and travelling to track days but not a lot more than that. Bought the car with the setup it’s got on it and we think there’s some work to be done to make it more optimal, there’s more body roll than we’d like and it lights up an inside wheel out of corners pretty easily....

The MG is way way more stable and better under braking its shocking! French cars are nimble but that MG is well sorted and pretty quick too.....

I’d love to drive my project car around a race track, but sadly there are no race tracks near me, the closest one near me, only does karting, and drifting.
I drifted a metro round a round about like 5.25 and was doing 25mph lol

I'm not saying its the best car (well it is in some ways, not in others) but those MG ZS's really are very under rated cars. Considerably bigger and heavier than the 306 and Clio etc. and a big heavy v6 up front, yet it handles so neatly out the box without any mods. I would have thought a Clio 172 would get past it.
Has the 306 been set up deliberately to encourage over steer? I couldn't help but think all that drifting/over steering to the extent of this was simply wasting time. Half a second here and there really adds up.
You guys need to team up with Car Throttle, they buy a cheap car challenge and yous drift them to black flags! LOVE IT
