And just because you train at a dojo or whatever doesn't mean you're gonna win your street fight either bro. I wish a bjj guy would think I can't fight and try grabbing on me. My fists hurt.
Bgaygay practitioners are the most deluded; especially the ones who think simulating having sex with each other on padded mats replicates a real fight.
So does theirs.. and if it goes to the ground and you’re untrained they have the ability and muscle memory to control you “ride” you being in a more dominant position than you all while raining down punches on your head
When it comes down to it, EXPERIENCE is the best martial art. A guy who has been getting into barfights all his life (think of that rough looking dude you've seen in a bar) will probably destroy a trained martial artist in a street fight.

The problem is most of you take 5 minutes of jiu-jitsu and you all think you are Eddie Bravo. Knowing a little bit of fighting may or may not help you in a street fight. They are too unpredictable and should be avoided. Just because you took some classes or have some belts doesnt mean someone cant whoop your ass in the street regardless of their fight experience. Experience or not, everybody now a days has big bravado and is way to cocky.
Another misconception is that street fights are fair, most people would rather pull out a gun, so my training has taught me to go for the throat and eyes. I dont care how much you can lift when I've spent the last 10 years of my life training to pluck your eye ball from your skull in one clean motion... he is SO right.
Also, being calm is a big tennant in fighting, the person who remains calm and analytical will win, getting angry and being led by emotion will get your ass beat.
He’s right about that mental hurdle a fight like that is very counter intuitive or anything crazy I’m by no means a tough person but I was recently sucker punched by the neighborhood crazy I don’t know how but I was on top of him with my right fist In face i only remember the pain in my head and my whole being going from 1 to 1000 and then a complete tunnel vision I don’t remember anything else keep in mind I’m not at all trained and do not consider myself tough at all. I don’t know how I was able to do that thankfully a couple of good guys that were armed came to my aid as I was on top of him trying to subdue him. I never got to rightfully thank those guys
I've taken kung-fu, been in street fights & trained MMA/cage fought. yes jocko, it's far worse to go against a skilled opponent. I'd rather be in a street fight any day
Many people are training. Part of the problem I see is that most BJJ schools no longer teach takedowns. Good luck bringing the fight to your realm. I love Jiu Jitsu but this is something we have to fix or it won’t remain useful for so called self defense.
Yeah well that's why idiots get shot . Because if I have a drama with you and I know your too much of a coward to fight toe to toe then I'll bring a gun too . Now what ? Either you or me die . If I die you go to Gaol and guess what no guns .you will have to use your hands in there .
Totally your choice, as long as your ego and behavior match. Don't get into ego battles and then pull a damn gun because you're scared to take a whooping.
Fighting and violence are not the same thing. Fighting is a form of violence although in a street fight there are no rules therefore any violence goes. Take that as you may
Gun fu wins most of the time but my old master used to ask "who do you wanna fight?"then would answer the next question of what do you mean...with" in a couple days I can teach you to fight the guy with no training..in a couple months I can teach you to fight so.eone with basic military or police training...but to fight someone dedicated to fighting their whole life wi take your whole life..."
Truth about street fights: They often involve knives, pistols, bricks, multiple attackers. So jiujitsu isn't gonna help you win in street fights. . . Don't street fight. . .be humble.
Bjj is good an all but the problem with most jiujitsu guys. They don't last long under pressure. Ask any highschool level wrestler. The misconception of bjj is that it's gonna help you take a punch or kick. I've boxed for years and did a little bit of judo. But when we corss trained with the bjj guys they would fold under a little boxing pressure.
I remember a group of hard men known for jujitsu and mma were the most feared guys in a town in england and one of them started seeing this girl from another city the girl had a boyfriend he was just a scrap man who collected metal he found out she was having an affair he was know for being a big guy who worked with scrap metal but never fought anyone ever he was furious that his gf was cheating he found it who it was and went straight to the bikers club where the mma guys were and he managed to beat them all up he litrally pulled one of guys ears off and broke anothers back by slamming him on ground he walked out of there with a broken jaw but with victory the witnesses said it was the most mental fight they have ever seen but the random scrap metal dude was invincible. These men do exist not many but they do exist.
now that random scrap man if this is real its the one percent of ppl in the world that fights amazingly and he still knows martial arts its not possible to beat 2 plus mma ppl if ur not trained. even one martial artist u cant beat untrained
90% of fight are on the floor 5% is standing up the other 5% psychological and verbal. If you don’t train the mind in psychological, verbal tactics you have already lost the fight.
I’ve never been trained in martial arts, and I’ve been fighting on the street all my life, over 20 fights. From my experiences you either got it in you or you don’t. Has a lot to do with genetics and upbringing. I will say also any kind of confidence will be your downfall to some extent. Having fear is normal, turn fear to fire. This is why the quiet guy sitting back will 8/10 destroy the loud mouth with all his confidence. Don’t let bjj and other martial sports give you false confidence I’ve seen a lot of young guys get really hurt. They think they know what fighting is after few months rolling in bjj or few months in boxing. This ain’t a sport anymore boy your ass getting stomped.
Pooping your pants, reaching in and grabbing it and starting to fling it around sounds pretty wild, and I don't think someone trained is going to bother with that.
Lads, no matter what you train, its always better to run. Violence is not politely bowing to each other and other dude telling you he is training jiu jitsu. Its blow to the head with the bat when you dont watch, 3 4 5 guys coming at you. There is no jiu jitsu or any other shit that can help you completely in that situation.
Streets fights without a doubt are dangerous for anyone WITH or WITHOUT martial arts training, because there are no rules. Guns,Knives and gang groups doesn't care if someone has been training Jiu Jitsu,Muay Thai or any martial arts. Streets DEFINITELY are not the ring or the octagon!!
Street fights and sport fights are two completely different worlds. UFC fighters have been stabbed to death, even though they can beat up most people in an octagon. The reality is that no martial art (including Jiu-jitsu) has any reliable defense against knives, so I don't care how trained you are, if you're unarmed and someone has a knife (or any weapon), you need to leave your ego at the gym and run away because you're going to get cut, and any cut could kill you. That's the truth about street fights.
I watched a BJJ go to the ground had his eye gauged he had to let go then his head got stomped rushed to hospital, in a street fight they are trying to hurt you and they will hurt you, even if they see a rock your getting smashed by a rock BJJ doesn't work when someone is commited to taking you out
Well I agree and disagree with his statement. The main part is being in an area with alot of martial art schools doesn't necessarily mean you're dealing with trained fighters. Me and some of my Piers like to call them paid black belts. Basically these are schools that if given the instructor enough money they will teach their student(s) how to pass the black belt test. Which translates to teaching them just enough to get themselves killed when dealing with a skilled opponent.
What if I'm a trained kickboxer but I will go wild? We have enough bite pressure to do fatal harm. We are apes. Apes fight by grabbing and biting. I'd only go wild if I were losing and I didn't have a weapon
I mean, so someone is going to assault you with BJJ? Ooh, I'm so scared. I agree with him on the get wild part, but if training is the answer, the guy who trains to lay on the floor is not going to find that training very helpful. Now, if it was Judo or any kind of striking, he'd have a very very good point. I'd be terrified of a good wrestler. BJJ? Eh, they have experience in a sport that is pretty much anti-self-defense training at that point.

I have trained since age 7 in martial arts and I swear to god the number of times o have heard ‘yeah but when I’m mad you’d be in trouble’ or something similar from untrained normal guys. Very true and funny
You could train for 1000 years and still not stop a bullet!!!!
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard “I just see red bro” 😂 meanwhile by their physical looks they probably break a sweat getting off the recliner
Marines don’t use our heads…. We use our rifles 😂😂🤙
A world saved by violence births a generation that KNOWS violence saves.
I train and it's specifically bc I used to have the stupid wild mindset and I got folded.
Gotta have SOME training if you gonna use the "stupid wild mindset"
That's how I made it work many times
i thought i could beat up anyone that was until. i got beat up by a white belt in bjj and got my arm broken and got destroyed by a lil 5'6 dude under 135 lbs. im 188 lbs 6 ft 1 bru and i thought to myself he is a white belt. imagine a blue or purple belt
When I'm in a street fight I always use my legs
Nigwrundayoooo smokey
Or a steel iron
Me being from san diego and never trained in my life looking at my hands
I don't fight. I usually just end it immediately if they attack me. I don't fight fair at all. I know lots of people say this, but I actually practice this. Last fight I was in, the guy told his friends for years what I did to him, because I didn't hold back, I didn't keep it traditional. I will not repeat here what I did, but let's just say he spread the word and I haven't had an issue since. When you got a sworn enemy bragging you up cause what you did to him was so crazy, he takes it as bragging rights, you changed that man forever.
Ok but can you tell me real quick? No one will read this anyway, just between us dudes
I am a second degree black belt and would never want to fight in a street fight. You don’t know if the person is armed and it is too risky.
very true. im 16 yrs old and legit started bjj 3 weeks ago and 1 week ago some big dude wanted to fight inna gym bc i got water on him somehow so he was walking to me and was gonna hit so i ducked fast grabbed both legs and very fast went to side control and shoulder pressure and he yelled bc it hurt n this dude fat n kinda big arms but luckily he wasnt armed but thx god 4 bjj
@@000jacc that is so good you are starting. Knowing that you can defend yourself and can stand up, it gives you the ultimate confidence. It really helps with relationships and dealing with people without fear.
@@Jes1919 yes i was able to do that very well. but ppl still say i cant win street fights and mma or martial arts suck and champs get knocked out but i hard disagree.
@@000jacc you are already 99% better fighter than the world population. It is a very small chance you will end in a fight with someone trained in martial arts. Never get into fights. Always assume they are armed.
@@Jes1919 yes i tried to back out but he came at me and got demolished and arrested bc im underage and then some guy comments to me on here. A undefeated mma champion got knocked out and smacked around by a 130 lbs scrawny dude. but he didnt leave a vid link or nothing just said that mma fighters get easily beaten up my untrained randoms same with bjj or muay thai students which i thought was bs bc they always win unarmed on unarmed compared to untrained
Very true.
Not when i hav a knife
The problem is most of you take 5 minutes of jiu-jitsu and you all think you are Eddie Bravo. Knowing a little bit of fighting may or may not help you in a street fight. They are too unpredictable and should be avoided. Just because you took some classes or have some belts doesnt mean someone cant whoop your ass in the street regardless of their fight experience. Experience or not, everybody now a days has big bravado and is way to cocky.
Can they stop Lead?
Another misconception is that street fights are fair, most people would rather pull out a gun, so my training has taught me to go for the throat and eyes. I dont care how much you can lift when I've spent the last 10 years of my life training to pluck your eye ball from your skull in one clean motion... he is SO right.
Also, being calm is a big tennant in fighting, the person who remains calm and analytical will win, getting angry and being led by emotion will get your ass beat.
Only fight I was ever in was down town San Diego and he went to bed
My magical powers are about .380 in size
I've taken kung-fu, been in street fights & trained MMA/cage fought. yes jocko, it's far worse to go against a skilled opponent. I'd rather be in a street fight any day
Many people are training. Part of the problem I see is that most BJJ schools no longer teach takedowns. Good luck bringing the fight to your realm. I love Jiu Jitsu but this is something we have to fix or it won’t remain useful for so called self defense.
Street fight? I don't fist fight anymore. Too old. If someone wants to fight me, its gonna be a gun fight, and I'm not gonna fight fair.
What about someone your age?
-All white men who just turned 18
Yeah well that's why idiots get shot . Because if I have a drama with you and I know your too much of a coward to fight toe to toe then I'll bring a gun too . Now what ? Either you or me die . If I die you go to Gaol and guess what no guns .you will have to use your hands in there .
If you want be to on the good side of the law, KO with fist is better than shooting in some situations.
Totally your choice, as long as your ego and behavior match.
Don't get into ego battles and then pull a damn gun because you're scared to take a whooping.
Colt made all men equal.
Something an insecure weak man who's too lazy to do hard things would say
Mutual combat should be legal in the US. It would solve a bunch of issues.
San Diego do got a lot of fighters tho
Truth about street fights:
They often involve knives, pistols, bricks, multiple attackers.
Shut them down as fast and as hard as you can.
90% of fight are on the floor 5% is standing up the other 5% psychological and verbal. If you don’t train the mind in psychological, verbal tactics you have already lost the fight.
Yeah that's what's scary is most fights go to the ground at some point
And once on the ground it all gets way more dangerous
You can't really train for violence if it decides to happen of its own accord.
No magic powers just a gun or two
I’ve never been trained in martial arts, and I’ve been fighting on the street all my life, over 20 fights.
I been in over 100 street fights growing up in Brooklyn, I trained Myself and my take is don't show fear and do what ya gotta do
At 65 my bravado has waned. However, even though my eyes have seen better days, I can still point my pistola anywhere I need to fire.
There is no jiu jitsu or any other shit that can help you completely in that situation.
well if its a 1v1 fist on fist the martial artist will dominate
Said by the guy that said he would run
I want to get trained.
Really I’m 53 never even close to a street fight not scared either
Maybe but how’s training when someone hits you in the throat.
And remember. The violent will always have the edge. You could be incredibly trained. But violence will win. Just dont fight
What?

@@bobbybyrd1236 yeh I did and it still makes no sense
I watched a BJJ go to the ground had his eye gauged he had to let go then his head got stomped rushed to hospital, in a street fight they are trying to hurt you and they will hurt you, even if they see a rock your getting smashed by a rock BJJ doesn't work when someone is commited to taking you out
Commen sense but these days u know how that goes ..
I'm the exception.
Kids think anger makes them powerful. Some people don't grow up.
yeah the last kid who got angry at me in school got me expelled just from simple muay thai kicks to the thigh and ribs bruh. i didnt even start it...
Biting works against jujitsu
What if I'm a trained kickboxer but I will go wild? We have enough bite pressure to do fatal harm. We are apes. Apes fight by grabbing and biting. I'd only go wild if I were losing and I didn't have a weapon
The better option is to sprint away instead of brutally ripping someone's skin off their face. Hard to justify that in court.
Ill take on jiu jitsu with my Beretta 9mm all day, everyday .
U have clearly never been on a gym a black belt will kill u in less then 5 seconds
I just moved to SD
Never square up in the street always lion for the advantage the surprise the speed and aggression
Jui Jitsu Academies on every street? is that why So Cal is so expensive to live in?
this new generation doesn’t fight though.
It’s 2022. There are more armed civilians that people who are trained to fight 😢
It's all good till the blades come out!!! That's why I train in Filipino Martial arts/ kali !
I promise you if there's a untrained guy going ape shit that's worst if there's an untrained guy trying deploy techniques he's never trained
