for me it does not matter what kind of model you are building, all your videos seem like a good mixture of tutorial and just showing how you build your models
You never cease to amaze me, Night Shift. I've never seen a more brilliant use of two kits (plus) to more accurately recreate an actual historic piece of armour.
I love seeing British and French tanks, the early WW2 ones especially. They had that very clunky charm to them which the later tanks just didn't have. Where they always 'good' tanks? Not always, but good lord do they have a ton of character. Nice to see you back with a new project, keep up the fine work!
the early French WW2 tanks may not have been amazing but the Matilda II was actually really good for her time. There are written reports from german tankers who grew incredibly frustrated fighting the Matilda II because, at the time, she was the chonkiest tank in the world when it came to her armor (yes even compared to her much bigger french cousin the Char B1) with 75mm of all round protection so even dedicated anti-tank guns did bugger all to her. It wasn't until midwar that the Matilda sadly got outclassed by the 7.5cm armed Panzer IVs and thanks to her smaller turret ring it meant she couldn't be upgraded to carry the (at that stage of the war) much needed bigger gun (there was an experimental version that had the Cromwell turret with a 6pdr gun mounted on it, I can find one picture but since it never really went anywhere I doubt it was a successful test). Hence why the Germans ended up field pressing the Flak 8.8cm into an anti-tank role against Matilda IIs. In fact the impressive display from the 8.8 against the Matilda II that led to it being decided as an actual anti-tank gun and from there spun off into the Tiger project.
Not going to lie... it actually hurt when he said "people dont like British armour so much".. British tanks have a great history behind them and are just so unique and special
@@multipl3 I'm sorry but the Matilda II is a beautiful looking tank, sure the other brits may be boxy but the Queen of the Desert is definitely a looker.

British armour might not be as iconic or historically venerated as tanks from other nations but I find them aesthetically pleasing with their unusual shapes and weird engineering. Your build is, as always, mind-blowingly beautiful. Looking forward to the Soviet paint job!!!
As a teenager i thought German Panzers were the best thing ever. Now, older and hopefully wiser, I plan on building a Churchill MkVII and an A34 Comet. They might be quirky but that's all a part of the charm. I'm looking forward to seeing the painting and weathering.
So, I love your channel. My girlfriend said it would be so cool if you painted it in Black and Gray, like the picture it's based on. If the whole diorama was black and white, it would look like a 3D photo. 😮
Looking forward to the finished model. I never have and probably never will put so much work into a model however I truly enjoy watching you doing it! 😊
I knew nothing about the world of models and miniatures, then I went to visit the museum of cinema and miniatures in Lyon (France) and I was absolutely blown away by the meticulous work of the modeling artists ! I can hardly imagine the time, concentration and precision it takes ! Your art is awesome and your texture work is amazing, I can't wait to see what you do next ! :)
People don't like british armour? Those fools! By the various shapes alone (not even mention about rich tactical markings, very original painting schemes, hessian camo nettings), WW2 british tanks are the most interesting and unique subject of ambitious modelling!
Any chance you can make a tutorial for varnishing? Which varnishes to use on what products? Which varnishes are protecting the model? And which ones are your favorite?
I would LOVE to see, your techniques put to use on a Sci-fi Tank from the 40,000 millennium. Speaking of course Warhammer 40k. But completely done, as if the vehicle existed IRL.
The part which was most surprising for me was, that You did not go with a project, because of the amount of views which Crusader scored. To be honest, I'm watching every single video which You post, and couldn't care less on which side the tank served on - are people really not watching content because "this tank was British!"? :D
Looks amazing so far, can't wait to see the rest, I'm a sucker for British armour and I think its sorely under represented here on UA-cam, too many Sherman's and Germans and not much else (plenty of Soviet stuff too) but the British tanks are so distinct from anything else and no less historically significant I think they deserve more time in the sun! Would also whole heartedly recommend one of the early cruiser tank kits from gecko models, they're really nice kits with great details and engineering, but fair warning, the tracks are multi-part individual link and take an age to build!
Wow , this project is looking to be a great one . I have a theory about your 1/48 Crusader project . I did enjoy it but I usually scroll past 1/48 scale armor videos . Thank you, Martin, for your beautiful work, as always👍🏻😍. To make the rivets, I found that the tip of a 0.3mm mechanical pen works well with heavy duty kitchen aluminum foil, I use, as a backing, a sheet of 2mm thick foam with a layer of packing tape on top (to stop the punched (actually pushed) rivets to sink into the foam). I just bought a 0.2mm Pentel mechanical pen that I didn't try yet. The back of a drill bit doesn't really works for me, it tears the foil (in a tear shape, actually), as the "pen rivets" are almost always perfectly round, it's probably a cheapo drill bits issue😊 Good continuation👋🏻
I think it is interesting you mention that it doesn't seem a lot of folks build British armor. The only one I have ever built is the Challenger II. I just really don't like the look of British tanks before the Challengers came around. I just think they are weird and ugly, minus maybe the WWI era tanks. Also, there are too many damn tanks named with C's minus the Valentine from that era and I can never keep any of them straight in my head. At least the American, Soviet, and German tanks follow a logical progression and are easy to tell apart. British are just confusing to me. Hey mate, there's a guy pretending to be you in the comments sending fake give aways, also I have 2 ideas for a diorama if you want to rey them 1) a French or British tank in Flanders fields going through a field of red poppies and over a german trench 2) a tank production line in a factory, I think it'd be a pretty cool diorama, a change of pace and a good challenge for you to try not to weather a Model 😂 Love the video, I can't watch any other diorama builds because they're just not on the same level as yours keep up the good work mate!
One wered tank i would live to see you make is the Matilda MK1 Its just a funky tank that has that wered very early war british feel to it The mk1 was made 4 infinty support and only had 2 crew and a hevey mg And was slower than ur mother lmao
i like British tanks.they went through a whole lot of designs to get where they are.A lot of modelers don't like them due to there looks.Dragon put out the spg Bishop which was a fun subject to do and required a lot of scratch building for the inside to make it look good.
And now you have a spare hull and turret you can use on a diorama as a destroyed tank.
Turret too, give it the old T72 treatment

Hey mate, there's a guy pretending to be you in the comments sending fake give aways, also I have 2 ideas for a diorama if you want to rey them
1) a French or British tank in Flanders fields going through a field of red poppies and over a german trench
2) a tank production line in a factory, I think it'd be a pretty cool diorama, a change of pace and a good challenge for you to try not to weather a Model 😂
Love the video, I can't watch any other diorama builds because they're just not on the same level as yours keep up the good work mate!
Ugh...this kit. I had nothinf but fit issues with the Bronco kit. Mostly at the back and engine compartment. Nice to see your project turn out nicely.
Jeez, you care about every final detail. If a bolt is missing you will go back and add it. You have my respect!
Uncle Night Shift, what thickness of foil do you utilize for the making of the bolt heads and rivets? Thanks
Kitbashing can be addictive, soon you'll be building some wacky shit. I can't wait.
Here I am, watching another amazing modeling video instead of studying for my finals like I should be, oh well.
British armor Nope don't like it a bit but just started watching you again. So, send it Uncle!
Sweet build!! By the way, what thickness of foil do you use for your hand-punched rivets?
I prefer to model Allied tanks, mainly British and Soviet, so this video is right up my street. Good work, and thank you.
When it comes to British armour, I'd say the Firefly was the Best version of the Herman tank, hope you buid one of those :D
One wered tank i would live to see you make is the Matilda MK1
Its just a funky tank that has that wered very early war british feel to it
The mk1 was made 4 infinty support and only had 2 crew and a hevey mg
And was slower than ur mother lmao
Awesome, Night Shift new video, click open, click like.... watch the video hahaha
This is going to be awesome, i really enjoy watching you make these models. Between you and a few others, you make me want to get back into this
This is a really good kitbash
For British armour in WWII, I was expecting a Churchill or Matilda
Can't believe you passed by the chance to make that discount code "BENDMYFRIENDS". XD
As someone who almost only builds British tanks, it's good to see you doing another!
If possible, could you try an ac-3 / ac-4? (That australian tank)
Another amazing project. Which filming camera and lens set up are you using?
Maybe one day you could do a "fantasy" tank, like a good old Rhino frome WH40k ? Would love to see your style on this kind of stuff !
i like British tanks.they went through a whole lot of designs to get where they are.A lot of modelers don't like them due to there looks.Dragon put out the spg Bishop which was a fun subject to do and required a lot of scratch building for the inside to make it look good.
I haven't watched yet, just came to say I'm psyched to see an upload on a Friday - let's gooooo! Perfect way to end a long week
