"Helping Hand" Autumn 1943 Diorama
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 жов 2024
- My friends, it took me really long to find out that autumn might be the best season to depict in miniature! So many colors, contrasts, and different textures... and most importantly, mud and dirty water puddles!

Disclaimer: I have a good relationship with a handful of modelling brands and stores, namely VMS, Michigan Toy Soldier Company, and AK-Interactive. As such, I'm happy to use their products/services, and show them in my work. In return, they support my efforts in this hobby, although my hands are not bound nor am I obligated to push one brand or the other. Being independent from exclusive sponsorship deals, and instead showing you a variety of paints, techniques, and mediums was one of the founding ideas of this channel and I will always stand by this.

The "simple" scene is in my opinion is the hardest to pull off because every element must be as visually appealing.
Well done sir, well done.
Beautiful ❤
Night Shift when he can use the VMS smart mud: **happi noises**
Perfect way to start the weekend! Thank you :D
Baby oaks. 😅
The details are jaw dropping! 👍
I can see why it's your favorite, as you said it's simple yet it is effective at telling a story.
I don't know where to rest my eyes, this dio deserves hours and hours of gawking at, so many cool little details.
Absolutely beautiful!
Love the tree it makes the sean whole
After a shitty week, this is exactly what I need - Over 30 minutes of great entertainment starting with "Mah friends..." :) Let the weekend begin!
I know what you mean, this channel helps me decompress before I attempt to work on my models.
chefs kiss for that tree.. I also really liked the mud and little grass overhangs under the clumps
although, I do prefer he matte black sides to the stained wood look...
Yes yes wood sides are perfect!!!!
Hey Martin! You don’t have to thank us, if you weren’t that so freaking good, you wouldn’t have so many viewer…
So, thank you very much for being yourself!
Thank you , Uncle Martin .
🐺 Loupis Canis .
Fantastic work!
I think the muddy water looks excellent. Well done!
Amazing, like history frozen in time!
Your attention to detail make all your projects a work of art. You are a master of your craft!
You Sir are an artist! Beautiful work.
The wood grain looks so pretty, it allows the base to have it's own warm feel and adds so much to the diorama.
Nice work Uncle Nightshift, the diorama looks great and the stained laminate looks better than flat black👌
tbh night shift i feel like the jagpanther model with the cat is always the best
Stained sides are a nice touch
My God that is absolutely awesome. The best you have done yet. I love your channel. Thank you for sharing and keep up the excellent work.
Likin will only grow on the north sides, moss will grow anywhere, just so you know. Great video, very inspiring.
It’s a pleasure to see how some modelers are able to reach such a awesome result! 👍➡️🥇
Another fantastic build. I’d love to see you tackle a Panzer pushing a disabled/burnt out vehicle off a bridge. 👌🏼
Magnificent! Each diorama gets better and better, not only because of the end results, but for the path to get there. A lot of learning on each delivery! Thank you.
Wood stains often have different rules, such as needing multiple coats, wiping excess off, needing some sanding before reapplication and more.
It is a good idea to always read labels for such things, also if these are only stains that don't harden the wood may have no protection, which in your case isn't a problem but if you want a better shiny finish simply rub a rug on some wax (beesewax ideal but any candle will do) and give it a pass over the veneer.
Never apologise for being proud of your accomplishments my man. You created something awesome and you're right to be excited about it.
I think that the angles and viewing lines on this are terrific! The slope down with the tree in the back, the sight lines moving from each figure to the next, the composition is perfect! Great work once again!
Amazing result.
Congratulations from a french modelling channel 👍😍
Amazing job as always! This whole build has been fantastic!
Absolutely incredible!!! 👍🏻
There's nothing wrong with being proud of you're own work. That's why they come out so beautiful. I like black bases and the strained ones. I think it best to go with whichever you think fits the scene your building.
I agree, a little less water would have been good, but I don't think I've ever done a project that I didn't wish I'd done something a little bit differently 🙂
Absolutely beautiful work as usual 👍
Thanks Uncle Night Shift ❤
Congratulatios Master, and thanks for sharing !
Beautiful work. Bravo.
Absolutely Amazing! I would not be surprised if the guys in the diorama start moving 😮
Although tracks looks a bit to clean as for going through such a mud I think it is another amazing piece from you. Thank you for your work an entertainment you spread. Keep cool and awesome!
Great overall, but the sculptural detail in those figures is amazing.
Ive done all my naval diorama's with a stained wood base. Love that you caught on!
I watch a lot of videos of various types of pro modeling. You are very good, perhaps the best. I learn from watching. Thank you
ahhh my friday kick into getting my model done, Lovely
Totally blown away my friend! I look forward to your videos, and learn a lot!
Uncle your talents have come so far. I really enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing.
Been following your work for a few years now and i agree, this one definitely stands out as especially exceptional. Looking forward to the next project, the best is yet to come.
You should be proud of this diorama. You’ve put everything you’ve learned up to this point into it, and personally I prefer smaller, more concise dioramas (verging on vignettes). It has all the elements necessary to tell a larger story than it seems, with nothing extraneous.
I think the reason the wood grain base works so well with this scene is due to the contrast between the lighter wood and the very dark mud. The terrain-following upper edge, particularly on the front of the diorama, emphasizes the three dimensionality of the ruts. It’s the first thing my eye was drawn to before differentiating the thing into its elements and how they went together. This kind of front loads the brain to see and appreciate the three dimensionality of the whole diorama. It’s just another visual hack.
Your standard black base does the same thing with lighter ground features like sand and snow.
Brilliant painting!!
Best I've ever seen.
Its lovely Martin love your work. Please NEVER stop doing it. I love watching ur vidoes
Great looking valentine and diorama Martin! I grow the tumbleweed here in my garden now for the seafoam it's a weed from the Gobi desert the black seeds aren't a spice don't eat them but ou can plant them and they'll grow like heck! Just check your area law because it can be like Japanese knotweed and take over and its banned in alot of states
Spectacular.
The stained wood sides are very nice. Black is good for some situations but the natural colors tend to blend with the dirt, mud, trees, etc. to form a coherent composition. If you were doing an urban scene like the one with the un-exploded mortar shell I'd say black is spot on.
I have to say that the tree is a work of art. Authentic looking trees are not easy in the least and you have succeeded nicely.
I half expected this to be like one of those Fail videos, where the diorama falls out of UN's hands and smashes on the floor.
At least it would mean more space in my display cabinet :D
Fantastic, great eye for these dioramas, Martin! Inspirational!!
excellent work again. I do prefer the stained wood over the stark black. I like to have some wood elements around my frame as it seems to warm up the whole composition, even cold tones don't look out of place in dioramas.
I'm surprised that you think the muddy water isn't so good because personally I love it. It gives the scene that extra impression that the three tankers exited the tank on that slope as if to say "Man, we're finally out of that bog!"😂
That looks damn good. I agree it's a candidate for your best work yet. I feel like your figure painting has gotten a lot better over the course of the last year or so. The faces have more color and life to them and they feel perfectly at home in the scene. The suspension articulation combined with the deep mud gives the tank a fantastic sense of weight as well.
It would be cool to see you do a stuck tank at some point. Maybe a diorama of a Russian tank crew using the un-ditching log.
Woooow! Amazing diorama!
Stellar work
I watch you for a few years now and this is one of your best works, indeed. However, I gotta say that I would expect that standing soldier to be muddier in the end.
This is a real stunner! Fantastic work as usual, keep it up man!
Hi Martin
Once again you have created an amazing work of art!
I love your techniques and find that they are so inspirational.
Thanks for sharing your great video presentation ❤😊
Outstanding build Martin ! Thank you for sharing. Hope you have a great weekend ! Cheers, Tony
This is definitely your best work. It looks amazing. Thanks for sharing!!!
dude this is either the best or one of the best dioramas i have ever seen, the soldiers looks so alive and the nature looks very real, the diorama looked so real that you fooled me, i thought it was a picture from WW2.
This is absolutely stunning 👍
Great job again.
Excellent work!
I swear just listening to your voice feels like a therapy :D Just building my own model, video playing next to me.. Its so calming and peaceful
The peculiar whining noise he introduces into his voice drives me nuts on the other hand. Luckily his dioramas are brilliant and I can love them with the sound off 😂
@@neilhfrancis1334what are you talking about?? He talks perfectly normal🤷🏼♂️
I paint warhammer 40 000 but I love your videos man. You should do some warhammer 40 000 videos for just us fans lol. I love hearing your videos well I paint and from time to time I do watch them. Your glazing video on that tank man was so helpfull. Your pin lineing is superb. Thanks so much man for these videos.
Invariably, the best result!)
This is awesome.
Sensational work! A true work of art!! Possibly your best ever👌👌
To je opravdu povedené s krásnými detaily. Chtěl bych se jednou dostat na podobnou úroveň. Smekám. 👍🏻
Thats really COOL! Nice work Martin)))
the wood sides seem to draw your eye more to the diorama... awesome work man, its amazing
That was an awesome video, and an incredible project, Martin. All round, fantastic work. I’d definitely keep this one ! Cheers 🍻

Great work! I think if you made a bmp-1/2 in either Syria or in Ukraine that would look great keep up the good work!
Increíble como siempre
Great video!
Вы как всегда вкликолепны! Удачи Вам!
awesome 👍👍👍👍
Compliments👍
Hey nightshift I have an idea for you! Maybe for the next tank/diorama you could try to make a gun firing effect. And maybe add lights for a little challenge.
Could use some dirt on the tracks. The guy on the ground looks pretty clean too.
I love how you can hear the barely-contained joy in his voice at so many points in the video
beautiful !
If you want to do the carved piece of land effect, have you considered texturing half of the base with earth and roots sticking out ?
Finish your T95 and give it a diorama please that would be so awesome
The diorama is amazing it's hard to know where to look
Super Arbeit👍😀
