Lyrics:
From the very first moment I saw you
I knew our love would be so strong
And from the very first moment I kissed you
I knew our joy would last so long
And then I saw you making love to my best friend
I didn't know whatever to say
I saw you making love to my best friend
So I looked him right in his eyes and I said
Listen boy
Why don't you take some more, it's what you came for
And don't mind me I won't throw you no curve
Have yourself a ball with my good woman
Why don't you take some more boy, it's more than you deserve
Why don't you take some more boy, it's more than you deserve
When I saw you hanging round the truck stop
Shining like an angel in the night
And when I saw you crying like a baby
I knew you'd have to be my wife
And then I saw you making love to my best friend
I didn't know whatever to say
I saw you making love to my best friend
So I looked him right in his eyes and I said
Listen boy
Why don't you take some more, it's what you came for
And don't mind me I won't throw you no curve
Go on have yourself a ball with my good woman
Why don't you take some more boy, it's more than you deserve
Why don't you take some more boy, it's more than you deserve
Now I think I'm going to have to leave you
Because I'm feeling much too weak to share
And the pie, oh it's cut in too many pieces
The flavor that I crave is no longer there
And then I saw you making love to two of my best friends
I didn't know whatever to say
I saw you making love to a group of my best friends
So I looked them right in his eyes and I said
Listen here, group
Why don't you take some more, it's what you came for
And don't mind me I won't throw you no curve
Have yourself a ball with my good woman
Why don't you take some more boys, it's more than you deserve
Why don't you take some more boys, it's more than you deserve
Why don't you take some more boys, it's more than you deserve

It’s a crime that he isn’t in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame
He will be, guaranteed.
Jim Steinman deserves his own statue and museum
Agreed, both Meatloaf and Steinman
Send him love and see him get recognised. he's been thru a lot, I love this dude.
We should at least send Todd Rundgren a cake.
Im watching this after hearing this amazing man passed away. My whole childhood was full of his music.
Mine was too..... same reason I am here....
He was truly amazing. The world of music feels quite empty. The man who wrote these albums, Jim Steinman passed away last year as well. Sad sad. Both Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman made some timeless music for sure
@@da8171 fully agree with you. Not only the world of music is empty without Meat, but an entire era went with him. Something good is gone forever. Reminds me of the Kinks frontman Ray Davis asking, "Where have all the good old times gone?"😿😿😿😿😿
😞
If anyone should be in the hall of fame , its this wonderful singer called Meatloaf R.I P
This video is from the early part of the MTV era. You see both sides of Meat Loaf in this video, his theatrical side from on stage, and his shy persona from off stage. His speaking voice is as gorgeous and as sincere as his singing voice. This guy is truly original as an artist. I can't think of anybody who is theatrical as he is on stage. Love him!
Oh do I. And u said exactly what I was thinking of saying! Unfortunately I guess the music is gone now with him-and Jim Steinman gone just he just can’t write any more classics for Meat to belt on out damn!
Maybe they’re writing and singing in Heaven.🙏
That’s what I choose to believe l. Easier to live this way, eh?
Just a little…
I agree!
Yeah we're all watching, we can see that lol thanks for the play by play
Duh
Meat Loaf - looking fat, dramatic, lovable, intelligent, dark, deep powerful and scary all with one look - fucking amazing really!
He is amazing!
But he doesn't look "fat"...he looks like Meatloaf! No one can can pull off that look except HIM.
@@jennifersinclair7249 Meat Loaf
@@jennifersinclair7249whatever. People frequently said I looked similar when I had long hair and was younger. He was also frequently bullied about his weight, even by his family.
R.I.P
This mans heart was as big as the whole wide world !!! He gave his all in every song .
RIP meatloaf.......today's been a shit day.
Thank you for all the music.
Rest in peace. You are a rock and roll legend to me. 💔
We love you from iraq baghdad meat loaf ( Marvin Lee Aday ) your songs are eternal in our minds R.I.P
Meat has gone to be with Jim...shed a tear today when I heard the sad news. I 'like' a lot of artists and singers...Meatloaf the only one I ever loved. RIP fella, and thank you for everything
Don't be sad brother I will bet there starteda new album right now the angels won't know what hit them RIP MEAT LOAF AND JIM
R.I.P brother, thanks for all the memories and good times, you and Jim are rocking the skies right now
RIP Meat Loaf. I listened to you for several decades now and will continue to do so as long oas I am alive. I hope where ever you are, they are listening to you, awestruck, just like me.
Love this, i hope he is too!!
I want him to LOVE me ❤️
You deserve to be in the rock of fame
RIP to an absolute legend. I guess heaven couldn't wait, anymore. 😪
😢 loss of a LEGEND
After all these years going back I still get taken aback at how incredible his voice was. Such strength and emotion. Wow!
RIP Big Man!
R.I.P😢😢😢
R.I.P. Meat Loaf ✨
No one can ‘act’ in a song like Meat Loaf. The guy is a god!
Man, I love U, and I will do so 4ever. This song has been the first song of U I've ever heard. Greetings from Germany. R.I.P.
RIP Meat. Even after 35 + years of hearing this song, it still hits me. Steinman (RIP) and Meat knew how to keep those teenage feelings afloat. Some good, some horrible, mostly those feelings of young love. Thank you fellas for my coming of age soundtrack.
they really did - your comment has nailed it EXACTLY :)
LEGEND.
Wow what a rock god 🙏
I love the absurdity of these lyrics. Jim Steinman has written some of the greatest songs of all time, and Meat Loaf is a terribly underappreciated singer and performer.
Seth....I agree wholeheartedly. Sadly people with this exceptional kind of talent are misunderstood and highly underrated for most of their lives, until suddenly they’re no longer with us. Here in the UK they certainly didn’t get the recognition they truly deserved. Love Meat so much.

Great voice
@@Jjudes9665 Heh, you called it.
This man has an absolutely beautiful voice, I love watching his expressions and body movements, in all his songs, just a beautiful man
He used to say the major honour was to be at Texas Hall of Fame! 100 millions records sold in his career, what else?
They don't make songs like his anymore, he puts poetry to music.
Miss this man not only musically but as a man and as a father. When we needed more like him, he was taken to early....imo
Rocking my world since 1977. Such a great singer.
An mine to brother a true legend RIP GREATMAN
omg he is sooo cute in the final scene
RIP Meat Loaf.....
LOVE & REST IN PEACE🌷
CONDOLANCES TO ALL U , UR DEAR, LOVED ONES🌷🌷 FAMILY FRIENDZ 🌷
Meat Loaf deserved better parts in films. He is a good actor. His best and most memorable roles were in Rocky horror picture show and Fight Club. He was good in them both. He deserved better roles.
Lol you have no clue lmao. He did everything single thing he set out to do. Wow,
ROADIE!!!!
he put everything in his songs.
RIP Meat Loaf😞💔 when I was young, my Dad used to play all of your songs in the car, and me, him and my brother would sing along..
Ciao Meat, la tua meravigliosa voce mi ha accompagnato accarezzandomi l'anima per tutta la mia vita. Mi mancherai come l'aria! Riposa in pace, ragazzone prodigioso 🙏🙏🙏
RIP MEAT
Easily one of the greatest music videos ever made.
I EASILY AGREE WITH YOU. MEATLOAF MEZMORIZES ME IN THIS VIDEO. I AM DRAWN TO HIM LIKE A BABY TO BREASTMILK.
RIP MEAT LOAF 💔😥
❤R.I.P.
Couldn't sleep so decided to listen to this legend. Such a beautiful and powerful voice I think he looks so attractive in all his video's.
That's exactly what I'm doing
Meat loaf you are missed so much you could sing so good and act you was good you R. I. P. You are a angel now
I do love the tongue in cheekiness of the video. It's supposed to be funny, and it is. Meat is a great singer though and delves into the character with each of his songs. I love Meat, I always will.
Class
agreed. 17 concerts...probably no more, sadly.

The first time I saw this video I was like, "Okay. Alright. Yeah, cheating woman. Okay, pretty standard stuff..." And then boy, does it escalate lol. "I saw you making love to a GROUP of my best friends."
God damn, dude lol.
Oh hell yeah!
He is just so cute in this 💕
Yeah........!
RIP Meat Loaf. Your hits will live forever. Thanks for all! ❤
LOVE Meatloaf's voice and style. Thank you to him and Jim Steinman!
RIP Meat Loaf
The last minute and a half of this is heartbreaking and so tender, how childlike and vulnerable Meat was as a person behind the voice and persona. His acting is wonderful, of course, but it felt for a moment there at the end that we were just seeing the raw simple reality of him.
One of the greatest Musicians of Tour Time
God bless him
Sitting here listening to his music and still shedding tears. Ain't ashamed. Thank you big guy fer being a part of my life all these years
Ok lets go for it.....If you had to pick just song of Meatloafs songs, from any album , released as a single or not...what is your fav. To make it interesting Bat out of hell isnt allowed...... .lets celebrate his brilliant career....
Blind as a bat for me
It just wont quit is my favorite... sometimes the answer is 2 outta 3 ain't bad or rock and roll dreams come true lol I can't decide l
Just found another one dont say nothing at all
Just listened to it and you're right it's pretty good ! Thanks It's more than you deserve is another one I hadn't ever heard but I love it and have played it several times lol

RIP Meatloaf, you didn't deserve to be snatched away by COVID like that.
FAQIN COVID HE TOOK IT FROM US
Sometimes, we decide our own destiny, which he did. He wasn't snatched away. He was an anti-mask activist who clearly said that if he was going to die, her would do it his way. Well, he got what he wanted and who knows how many people he infected along the way. His kids and wife have Covid at this moment. I wonder where they got it from. Phenomenal talent, but stupid and selfish.
@@jsmilers just like the people in stores that refuse to wear a mask and get extra close!!
He knew his health was bad! I surprised he went out that way! He had so much more to give the World! God Bless Meatloaf rest easy!
This herible virus has taken meatloaf and other great people. He will always be alive threw his music let's all play meatloaf forever
RIP Meat Loaf ❤️
What a beautiful man he is!!!! I got the honor of meeting him in person!!!! I wanted to ask him why didn't he play this song at his concerts but of course I got so nervous that I couldn't say anything other than Meat you are an icon!!!! I kinda of felt sad when he didn't seem to think he was!!!! I love you Meat and hopefully I will get to see you again and I will definitely meet and greet with you no matter how much it is!!! And yes Meat Loaf you're an icon trust your fans not the critics!!!! Critics don't know SHIT!!!! God I hope I get to see you again!!!!!
I am so jealous of you Michelle! And Meatloaf is humble and modest to boot! How beautiful!
oh wow you are so lucky! i would of been nervous as well. i wouldn't ken what to say. i would be so stun he was in front of me. he is amazing. very lucky person. well jealous
Michelle Durkin I agree
AWWW!!! YOU LUCKY its amazing how humble he is but at the same time its so upsetting that he can't see how wonderful he is to his fans. im only 25 and i absolutely love him! and i will darn well tell him so and ill tell him what you said about trusting his fans NOT the critics. they need to stop being so harsh. i love meatloaf and i will adore him all my life! :) he is an inspiration of humility love and kindness and passion for what he does as well! and he makes others feel it. if only he could see that maybe one day. until then LOVE YOU MEATLOAF :)
Meat Loaf was such a “one of a kind” artist. He and Steinman wrote some classics!
Meat loaf deserves a hall of fame of his own 🥰😍
He was a big part of my life and my wife who I lost . In2016 big loss we loved him a leagedx
Rest in peace, Meat Loaf. We love you.
Rip meat loaf
There'll never be another meatloaf! He was a songwriter musician performer and the very best storyteller of all time. ❤ May he rest peacefully and his songs sound throughout time indefinite❤
He wasn't a song writer, Jim Steinman was.
@@christulloch3771 My mistake, I do apologize! Brilliant none the less though. A legend.
Apart from his amazing vocals his acting was brilliant. Such a miss. Rip to a legend
This is my favorite Meatloaf Video. Meatloaf is gorgeous!
his personality overtakes his looks !🙂
@@amyclarke41 Yeah.....but they all mix in together....personality and looks!!!!! He is gorgeous all the way around- personality, romance, looks, intelligence, singing, voice, expressions......shall I go on!?!?!?!?!
and he still is 😍 even getting more gorgeous in his 70's 🙊💚
I was raised up with his music I love every songs he made there will be nobody like him now he's up in heaven now he could play all his songs to all his fans. It is so sad how people is saying he died from COVID-19 he was going in the hospital for surgery for his heart the surgery he had a heart attack I don't know why people keep saying he had the COVID-19... these people what his family grieve
Most underrated song/ video of the 80's
Sad to hear Jim Steinman is no longer with us, so many great tracks of which this is just one. I’ll be giving his solo album (Bad For Good) a spin later
Opera theatre perfection
This is such an underrated track and showcases the acting talents of the man. Beautiful
RIP big man thanks for the music and memories...keeping rocking above......
Hard to believe the Dead Ringer album is almost 40 years old in 2021. It was released in 1981. That's scary!
I remember the video with Cher was played at halftime of the superbowl that year... 49ers- Bengals.
Am heartbroken. Meatloaf was a truly amazing singer and artist. May he rest in peace. Sending love and blessings to his family. He will always be in my heart and soul. 😪 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
What a beautiful voice!!!!
Him and Steve Perry should do a 12 casino tour together!
He was one of the best he should have been in the hall of fame
RIP LEGEND 👏
An absolute classic, headphones on, volume up to the max. Heaven can wait!!! (for now)
What an actor. Takes a passionate song, makes it funny, but keeps it funny at the same time. I love everything Meat Loaf does, whether or not Jim Steinman is on board. I mean, Jim's truly fantastic too, and they're a great team, but Meat can work magic on just about anything. On my soul, too... better than therapy, better than drugs, better than chocolate!
Yeah....Meatloaf is my addiction!

R.I.P. Meat Loaf--thanks for the music!
Come on it's 2021 and still Not in the Hall of Fame. Just like Dr.Hook both should be in the Rockn Roll Hall of Fame.
He has a very nice speaking and singing voice.
Jim and Meat, hope you are making some sweet, powerful, ridiculous music out there in the great beyond.
He brought me back to my youth & a simpler time in my life! RIP I asked my entire Office to listen to him last Friday, Jan. 22, 2020, in a Music Video with Jim Steinman! THANKS FOR YOUR TALENT & PASSION...both virtues of which are lost a bit more each day. RIP
Should read 2022...my apologies. Listening to Bat out of Hell now! Please induct this Talent into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame to honor both the man & his family.
RIP Michael, never forget you!
The only song dedicated to a pie. Brilliantly done Meat.
You know, a couple days before his passing, I was up late one night listening to some music and jamming by myself to it. I was randomly selecting a next song and happening to got to this song in particular. I start up the song and pretended to play piano like it does at the beginning.
Just getting into the groove. And when Meatloaf started to sing, I lip-sync along, enjoying myself even more. And during all this song and dance, I imagine myself on stage, continuing the lip-sync it like that tv show.
I was having a blast just pretending to myself. And then I had a thought of something. From some comment I remember from one of these video uploads of this song. Where in the music video, it's not the waitress that Meatloaf is getting angry about for the truckers taking her attention away from him. But it was actually the pie on the counter that Meatloaf was getting angry about.
So during my many repeated lip sync singing, I continued to imagined I was on that stage still, acting like Meatloaf in the music video. Except I replace the waitress with the microphone I'm pretending to sing at. And I'm singing to it all of its love and joy, and then at the part where Meatloaf sings "making love to my best friend," I then imagine a guy from behind the stage coming out of nowhere and starts also singing to the microphone. Almost kissing at it. Where then I started acting all Shock and dejected. like some Vaudeville Act, where I was meek guy and some buff dude took my girl. It was funny to imagine I couldn't stop laughing.
But now, after those couple of days before his death. I am now sad(kind of tic off) but mostly sad. It was quite a shock when I found out that morning, finding it out on a random video saying he die at 79. I was utterly shocked.
And for some reason now, I can never get his songs out of my head. Even when I listen to the radio and try to sing to something else, my mind always goes back to Meatloaf...
I had this same reaction to when David bowie die, I was deeply singing his songs during a shower and I woke up the next morning to find he passed away. And I couldn't stop hearing his music for some either after that.
Sorry if you reach the end of this comment kind of confused. I hope didn't make my story sound confusing, I couldn't think of the right wording and such. But I wanted to leave some kind of comment saying both the love and sadness I feel still after his death. So I'm sorry if it all sounds like a rambling mess.
My words could be terrible, but I want to release something so anybody could know.
I hope you have a nice day to anybody who reaches here...
Reached the bottom, no need to apologize, we all love and miss him.
You wrote just fine. Can’t stop grieving for what we have lost. So we understand and feel the sam. Might help letting it out.
My man, can't speak for everyone here, but it didn't confuse me. Meats' music is the musical backdrop for some of MY best and most treasured memories, and, so, a big part OF those memories. His loss needs to be grieved, and I think he is pleased with the eulogy you shared with us.
No worries.. life is like that.. up in heaven one minute 🙏🏻💜😄.. down on the floor 😢😮💔… the next x
It is clear that he was already an exceptional musical artist at the time, but he also looked really good as a young man. RIP Meat

Rest in peace meat loaf I will keep your music 🎶 rocking 💯👍😊
What I've always loved is how Meat can pull off the split personality. His Meatloaf character is loaded with angst and intensity yet the man Micheal/Marvin is actually quite the opposite. A very humble, honest, almost fragile human being.
That makes meatloaf a PERFECT man. Modest and humble in real life, but passionate in his soul!!!!! ohhhh, I am so in love with him!
wish his lookalike was nice as meatloaf !🙂
+Jennifer Sinclair SAME SAME SAME i absolutely love this man his passionate soul is nearly unrivaled
i know hes like a teddy bear you just want to hug
Its also the best way to sing his songs
The world doesn't have a big male power ballad guy anymore...
I love the atmosphere in these Dead Ringer video's, great album. Always gets to me.
A very young Leah Ayres as the waitress. My childhood crush.
Iagree!!! heshouldbe in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and if he isn't...it is because Hollywood and the Music Industry are too much on drugs to recognize pure talent in it's rawest form.
ForlornSuicide
You see the irony in your statement, right? They are all high as hell in this video!!
He will get into the hall of fame. They always wait forever first....
so sad the passing of a great man RIP Meat Loaf.
Meat looked so good here, that long hair is great! And that waitress is one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen. Always been one of my favorite videos.
The actress playing the waitress is Leah Ayres. She did a lot of TV in the 80s & 90s, and had a big role in the horror movie "The Burning" in 1981, before this Meat Loaf video. I've always thought she was gorgeous, too. Something about the facial expressions just make her very intriguing. Here's a link to her IMDB page www.imdb.com/name/nm0043994/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0
I remember her in Bloodsport
The symbolism in this video is amazing. she's serving up her pie first to meat loaf but then to everybody that walks into the place, haha.
If I had a man look at me that way, I'd make sure he didn't ever want to look away. Miss Meat.
I never saw this version before. Awesome! Thank you for sharing, and thank you for sharing all your songs, music and poetry to us, the ones who come in everyday, just to try to bring back just a little bit of our youth!
