    The exhaust on my Escalade looks pretty much identical, down to the odd clamp that has the bolt pointing straight up which is what I thought was the most unusual item.

      We need to find the person who did this exhaust work and make them answer for their sins!

    That’s factory exhaust for the 6.0
    5.3 is a lot easier to work with when dropping the trans

    Great work! Only one critique, please wear saftey glasses/googles underneath there. All it takes is one small sharp piece of rust/metal to fall dead center in your eye and it's a wrap. One eyed Willy. ask my grandfather if you don't believe me.

      Every time I get those horrible rust chunks in my eye I tell myself to go put some safety glasses on....but then I don’t....and I end up with more rust in my eyes. Being dumb hurts.

    How did you end up getting the exhaust out? Did you cut it? Or the strap held on by the bolt was the way??

    Can I put the transmission from my 05 Chevy Tahoe 5.3 engine into my Cadillac escalade 03 6.0 engine

    • @SuperAwesomeGarageTime
      @SuperAwesomeGarageTime  Рік тому +1

      To my knowledge, yes you should be able to. As long as you have the torque converter also. The only difference in those transmissions is the planetary gears,the number of friction discs, and input shaft (which is why you need the torque converter). Also, make sure that if you have a 2wd, your get a transmission from a 2wd, and likewise for a 4wd. The tailshaft housing will be different from 2wd to 4wd to accommodate the transfer case. I would do a bit more research to verify. 🤘

      @@SuperAwesomeGarageTime thank you so much for your response. I just had an engine put into my Cadillac about 4mts ago and now my transmission is acting up, I also have a 05 Tahoe that's just sitting around and I wondered to myself if it would be possible to use that transmission from the Tahoe, just trying to save a lil money. I will run this by my mechanic thank you so much for the info I really appreciate that.

    Snapped 4 exhaust manifold nut myself. Stud won’t come off either. End up having to drill off the studs and using bolts and nut

      I too have had to play that silly game many times on many vehicles. Working on vehicles in Florida was great due to no rust on the local vehicles......but then there were those snowbirds from up north....

    Anyway you can tell me all the tools needed for this job at all?

    • @SuperAwesomeGarageTime
      @SuperAwesomeGarageTime  Рік тому +2

      Off the top of my head, I think you need 12-15mm sockets/wrenches. I might have used a 10 or 8 on a bracket or 2. 21mm for the crossmember. 24mm for the crank pulley bolt. Some pry bars. Trans jack or other means to maneuver. Lots of extensions and/or wobbles and universals to get those hard to reach places. This is all from memory form a few days ago since I had to pull it out again, so I might be off a little. Have fun!

      After my first few videos I made I started realizing that in the editor it was quieter, but after processing and uploading for some reason the music would over power....same in all my other videos with music 😔
      Thanks for the tip though! Learning as I go 👍

      @@juancortez4428 I sure did. If you go to the chanel page there are 2 videos of doing the rebuild (had to wait for some parts to complete it), then a test drive video after completion and installation. 🤘

    How long does it take to pull the transmission and put it back in how many hours?

    • @SuperAwesomeGarageTime
      @SuperAwesomeGarageTime  3 роки тому +1

      If you know what you are doing and don't run into any issues probably about 1.5 hours on your back. Around the same going back in.
