Super Awesome Escalade Transmission Success

Made this video on my phone, so it doesn't have any of my fancy stuff. Got the 4L65E all finished up and shoved back in it's hole. Took it for a test drive and had zero issues or surprises....other than a couple of "mildly" important nuts that were left out of the crossmember mount. Future "Sexcalade" plans: - Custom remote mount turbo system - Cam for the blub bulbs - Air ride shocks because t...
Super Awesome Shed Rebuild Time

Recently moved my dilopidated shed back to the corner of my yard. Now the fun begins. I plan to completely renovate and add on to this old piece of junk. I really would love any input that anybody has as far as design and setup. A large piece of equipment I left out of the sketching is my table saw, it's on wheels but aprox 3x4 foot....maybe....guessing here. Please Like, Share, and Subscribe w...
6.0 powerstroke head removal

Getting the driver side head off the 6.0. Didn't run into any major problems. The hardest part was getting the up-pipe off of the exhaust manifold. But I did make a pretty big discovery during the teardown.

Getting most of the transmission back together. Waiting for a couple of seals and o-rings to be able to move on and finish it up. Went ahead and assembled most of the valve body and installed the shift kit components off camera as well. Please Like, Hate, Share, and Subscribe!

A lot of talky talky up front, but eventually I get around to stripping the transmission and breaking down the guts to start the rebuild. Unfortunately I ran into a couple of speed bumps....which only mean I'll get to make another video of rebuilding the tranny! All good things, All good things Subscribe.....Like.....Hate.....and tell your mom!

Episode 1: First Mods On the CTS-V and 57 Chevy
Переглядів 2074 роки тому
On my first episode of Super Awesome Garage Time I'm throwing my first mods on the CTS-V, which include TSP long tube headers, TSP 3" exhaust, Air Raid cold air intake, and a Might Mouse "wild" catch can. After that, the 57 Chevy gets some new shoes and socks....making it mobile!! Stay tuned as I constantly find stuff to fix.....break.....build.....or burn?

      Off the top of my head, I think you need 12-15mm sockets/wrenches. I might have used a 10 or 8 on a bracket or 2. 21mm for the crossmember. 24mm for the crank pulley bolt. Some pry bars. Trans jack or other means to maneuver. Lots of extensions and/or wobbles and universals to get those hard to reach places. This is all from memory form a few days ago since I had to pull it out again, so I might be off a little. Have fun!

    Can I put the transmission from my 05 Chevy Tahoe 5.3 engine into my Cadillac escalade 03 6.0 engine

    • @SuperAwesomeGarageTime
      @SuperAwesomeGarageTime Рік тому

      To my knowledge, yes you should be able to. As long as you have the torque converter also. The only difference in those transmissions is the planetary gears,the number of friction discs, and input shaft (which is why you need the torque converter). Also, make sure that if you have a 2wd, your get a transmission from a 2wd, and likewise for a 4wd. The tailshaft housing will be different from 2wd to 4wd to accommodate the transfer case. I would do a bit more research to verify. 🤘

      @@SuperAwesomeGarageTime thank you so much for your response. I just had an engine put into my Cadillac about 4mts ago and now my transmission is acting up, I also have a 05 Tahoe that's just sitting around and I wondered to myself if it would be possible to use that transmission from the Tahoe, just trying to save a lil money. I will run this by my mechanic thank you so much for the info I really appreciate that.

    Great work! Only one critique, please wear saftey glasses/googles underneath there. All it takes is one small sharp piece of rust/metal to fall dead center in your eye and it's a wrap. One eyed Willy. ask my grandfather if you don't believe me.

      Every time I get those horrible rust chunks in my eye I tell myself to go put some safety glasses on....but then I don’t....and I end up with more rust in my eyes. Being dumb hurts.

    Nothin wrong with 03', late 04s actually had more problems then 03''s, 03;s had a better cam and different pistons both pros n cons between every year but seeing a reman tag would upset me the most, im running 03' shortblock with 05+ hpop pump n rails worst thing 03s was icp location

    • @hotrod6919
      @hotrod6919 3 роки тому

      i used 05 heads also but you can get away with not bolting rocker boxes if they don't match heads by using glow plug harness as alignment the actual head studs will hold them down fine just don't use 03' glowplugs in any other year they are longer and will hit pistons

      @@SuperAwesomeGarageTime Ceiling height; dimensions of the patio/overhang, also how you plan to access the storage on the second story. I assume the Gambrel roof will have the slope facing the front/rear? I didnt show any roof here; but if you want to have a door that opens to the deck; It might look incredible; but also might be a bit taller than you'd like.
