- Creatine kinase - MB (CK-MB) acts as cardiac biomarker and its levels are elevated in case of cardiac damage such as myocardial infarction. Raised levels of total CK may indicate either cardiac or skeletal muscle damage where former can be confirmed by CK-MB test.

ISN'T MB "muscle brain"?
Sir, My CK-MB value is withing range, but CK value is high (280 U/L), and ofently getting Heart palpitation , dont know what to do, pls assit.

I had that happen to me when anesthesia neuromuscular blocker was given before propofol and fentanyl, which stopped my breathing, which stopped the sinus node electrical signal of the left atria sinus node of my heart, resulting in cardiac arrest. I had elevated troponin and elevated CK MB. The code blue team doctor used epinephrine and atropine along with continuous CPR. After 15 minutes the team got my heart to start beating again. It indicates damage to the heart muscle. Doctors don't say when the heart muscle gets damaged ,when they stop the heart or when they start the heart. Humans make mistakes even in hospitals. I'm glad to still survive that from 19 years 11 months ago. So your heart muscle got damaged from a heart attack (MI) or another traumatic cardiac event. I just found out about Electrophysiology Cardiologist. The doctors kept quiet and didn't tell me. Thank GOD for You Tube and Internet. I found the answers here. Cisatracurium Besylate ( surgical neuromuscular blocker) given to put an endotracheal tube down my throat before a maintenance anesthesia did paralyze me and my lungs quit and the electric signal to the heart sinus node quit too. Simply put, I was like a drug overdose. I was 47 and was atheletic. I got the sinus (septoplasty) 6 months later by a good Christian ENT doctor.
my CK-MB is 33.9. Is that bad?
