In Crossbone Gundam. Crossbone Vanguard, which were the enemies in Gundam F91 gets reformed by Cicelly and Seabook. So they eventually become the good guys. Earth Federation becomes lethargic and is starting to fade out of the storyline. A new enemies appears known as the Jupiter Empire. Which is where Sirocco from Zeta Gundam comes from and it's up to the New Crossbone Vanguard to fight them.
Jupiter would then be defeated and subdued by Bernadette, no using her real name Tetenethe Dogatie, leading the nation in a more prosperous future, though still uncertain. Zanscare then appeared and tried to rule the Colonies through an Aristocracy. Both Jovians (Curtis Rothko and his allies) and the League Militaire fought them and eventually defeated them. But, this didn't stop the Colonies in eventually wanting to be independent of each other, especially from the Federation, thus the Warring States Era (or Space Sengoku). The Federation won't be entering the picture again until the UC 200s, Gaia Gear.
Play this game at 2006 something. I have a blast,making strongest character by using first GM or zaku2 throughout character making mode. By the end of game most of my stats is around 42-44. My favorite skill line up is (Gentle) Passive skills: Sharpness. Skill involving the facing of the ms while locking. Dauntless(hp below 1/3 stat up) Potential(hp below 1/3 charge up) Skill involving weak/outdated ms. Active skill: Skill that increase stats temporarily (Hot blooded) Passive skills: Skill involving outdated/weak ms. Morale(increase speed of charge melee). Skill reducing melee damage. Skill increase Shield defense. Anti stun. Active skill: Succesful evasion (Cool) Passive skills: Skills involving weak/outdated ms. Skills involving range/lock speed. Power custom(increase main weapon strength,but reducing ammo). Speed Shot. Skills that giving chance to use active skills with no mental cost. Active skills: Direct hit.
I have this game. It's very fun. I have also read the manga. Anyway, the optimal way to play from my experience of having made each of the four characters is to always be underpowered. I mean it. By the Crossbone section, I was only using a Zaku III Custom. The more underpowered your MS is, the higher the stat point gain. Also, I always picked Nagisa as the mother. My resulting character stats, save for my first run, would always be a line of 50+ in all stats. For a short rundown, from 0079 to the first mission of Zeta, I would stick to the GM. From the next mission to F91, I would be on the GM II or something stronger than that but weaker than the Zaku III Custom. By the Crossbone section, I'd be using the Zaku III Custom (I've tried using something weaker but it's not worth the headache. At least the Zaku III Custom has a strong enough charge shot to down most grunts). As for the transition from F91 to Crossbone, long story short, the main heroine of F91 is part of the family that owns the Crossbone Vanguard. She takes over and steers the organization towards a different direction. The MC of F91 and the pilot of the black Berga Dallas that you fight in the previous stage work for her. As for the manga for this game, we never see Kamuna again because he becomes a high ranking officer of the EF.

I don't know the game, but just the RPG part alone is well worth it. Thanks for the discovery. You should try the game Mobile Suit Gundam: Operation: Troy sometime; it was pretty fun in multiplayer, and you pilot in first person
chronicle mode really convinced me to give this game a try for myself, the stat inherit mechanic that happens after the timeskip is really cool! wont forgive you for calling macross robotech tho XD (awesome video btw)
Another set up that i like from special skill from different ms. Mostly come by choosing from zeon sides. This is my set up.choose "cool" personality for initial newtype bonus. Jaburo,use standard zaku for lot of opertional skill bonus.or zaku kai for passive skill "morale" A baoa que, use char custom zaku,to make "high speed battle" skill available. Operation Stardust,use gerbera Tetra to gain skill "increase retreat evasion" First neo zeon route use quebeley to make "pressure" active skill accessible,as well as "political deal" passive skill. At the final of the gryps war use standard zaku again to increase your operational abilities. At the first neo zeon war,use quebeley mp to make skill "aura" available. So in this zeon route you get Passive skills: High speed battle Increase retreat speed evasion Political deal. Morale Aura Active skill: Pressure. All operational skills around 35-37
No PS2 gundam game ever reach this quality for some reason after this one. Oddly, even though it should encompassed all major UC story it never reached Victory for some reason. The RPG aspect even got a manga story which makes it canon.
Definitely an interesting game, that sadly also one of the games that are not released in the western regions. Guess we're sailing the Seven seas as usual. Anyway, definitely not much of an RPG game, but somewhat similar in style like the Gundam Battle Operation series, especially Gundam Battle Universe for the PSP.

If there is an English patch out there I couldn't find it. Fortunately it's still pretty accessible and the menus are simple enough to figure out.

Speaking of gundam RPG game, MS Saga is still my favorite,.hopefully one day we can get Xenoblade X level of gundam game, and more MS Saga type

Operation Troy is on my list to eventually play. Maybe 2025 is finally the year.

i prefer gundam battle universe. it seems like a better version of this.
