How about the BRE treatment: rear glass, side mirrors, wheels, headlight covers, guages. cockpit ventilation and hiring Peter as consultant for its development? New paint definitely, I'd ask him for advice for that as well.
This is a Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe CSX9000 series car. Was it built in the 1960's no. Did Carroll Shelby decide he wanted to build them again? Yes. I wouldn't call it a kit, and Shelby didn't, but you do as you please.
I'm not saying the continuation cars are junk...far from it. I'm glad someone is doing it so kudos to Hillbank. What Shelby did in 62, is that he gathered many parts, put them together to make the Cobra. From the Auto Carrier body (AC), to the Dana 44 rear gears, to the Salsbury inboard disc brakes (which was changed at the very beginning to the outboard location) and powered by a Ford 289. A miss-mash of parts that became the famed Cobra roadster...but you know this already. Essentially, Shelby built a kit car. The coupes were built (on the same Cobra chassis) for one purpose and one purpose only...to race and beat Ferrari. The continuation car (authorized or not) are street driven component cars that mimic the racing version for +$300,000. Some I guess are used in historical racing but can also be driven on the street, hence NOT a race car let alone an original. You can't advertise an "original" when you're playing Milli Vanilli on the radio...just saying.

Many of our customers get parts from BRE. They are great! Peter is a design genius.
