@dan cussin We're in agreement, they're not common. According to Hagerty... "And so the 2000GT flopped miserably. Just 337 were built from 1967 through 1970. Only about 62 of those came to the U.S. where many sat unsold at the original price of $7,150 (for comparison, the Chevy Corvette’s base price in ’67 was $4,240)." Japanese cars have only recently come onto the radar for American collectors.
The 1965 was the coolest of the 60's Riviera. I really liked how the headlamps were hidden behind retractable pods at the end of each front fender. If I could have any of these cars, it would be either the Buick or the Mustang. Of course I would not mind that '61 Lincoln or the mid 50's Skylark. Both amazing cars. I am dating myself here, but as a youngster I have been in the Buicks, the Mustangs and the Lincoln. My friend owned a 61 Continental, another owned a '53 Skylark as well as a 65 Riviera and a guy I worked with had a GT-350 Mustang. For me, I would be happy with any of them today.

I was looking at an on line tour of the Liberace car collection a week ago, he owned several of these models... so much for the title! Maybe it should be called "8 Cars for old queens"?!?
Spend 5 minutes researching the true reason the military you've devoted your life to gallivants around the world uninvited and you'll discover you ought to be ashamed of yourself.
The dream. I grew up loving these cars. I'm going to keep clearing blocked drains and building my little BLOCKED DRAIN youtube channel in hope to be able to afford one of these beauties!
bumblebee8400 im not bothered about sounding sophisticated as thats for people with their head up their arse , i was more interested in the quality of the cars in the video . There are plenty of vintage cars out there for real men as the video title suggests but some of the cars in the video are not a great choice . For instance the lincoln continental is not a great touring car and not even a good handling car simply because of its dimensions just like the skylark . If punctuation is all that bothers you then you obviously are not a car guy !!!
Cool cars but adding "For Real Men" in the title isn't necessary. They're just classic vintage cars... That's it, my two cents, I'm checking out, I'm outta here, don't forget to tip your waitress. lol
63-65 riviera is still a beautiful car. rarely see one. 325 horsepower. modify it a little and you have serious muscle car power. a true sleeper. always liked those clam shell headlight covers..
I was working in a Rolls Royce/Bentley in the 90s they had a gullwing mercedes on the ramp had a quick look underneath , patchwork quilt would be a understatement .
Beautiful cars . To non petrol heads they are either not interested or have so much money they just want to have one to boast about. But to the real drivers that appreciate them they are works of art . Great video. 👍👍
One of my favorites was the 1965 Pontiac GTO with the 421 HO engine. It had a light body and Pontiac lied about it's horsepower [for the racing circuit], it was higher than advertised.
Liar. The only engine options on 65 Goats were 389CI. If you saw one with a 421, that is an earlier engine from a Bonneville or Catalina. They are externally the same.
Oswald, Hey jackazz, you are one of those liberals that believe you are correct even when you are wrong and call someone a liar. I know the 421 HO was available for the 1965 GTO, I was there and had my hands on it. EDIT: My friend owned it and offered to sell it to me. I had a 1964 GTO 389 Tri-Power [3 two barrel carbs.].
WTF does politics have to do with this? The first 3 years of the Pontiac GTO, it had only one available factory engine, the 389 CID with either 4 bbl or 3 2 bbl carburetors. I'm not saying a 421 wouldn't fit. Certainly hot rodders put them in there for their power, and I've seen it done too. Factory built drag-racing NHRA cars don't count either. But that is not the same thing as what you are implying. 421's were available up to 67 in the full size Catalinas and Bonnevilles. A slight bore in 68 brought it up to 426.5 cubes, and that motor was referred to by Pontiac as 428 to avoid confusion with the number of 427s made by Ford and Chevy and Chrysler's 426 hemi. So maybe you weren't lying and you saw a 421 in a 65, but understand that the factory never offered that as an option. I grew up in that era and knew pretty much about everything going on in the muscle car era. To me, what matters is to provide the correct information for other generations not lucky enough to live with these cars when they were brand new.
Oswald Montecristo, Thank you for the information and that you grew up in that era. I was a mechanic in the 1960's. That does not mean I knew everything. I am an old man now and my memory often fails me. It is possible that my friend had the 421 HO dropped in the '65 goat and I had forgotten, and if that is the case I apologize. I do not remember his 1965 GTO having anything other than the 421 HO.
Loved the track footage from inside the Ferrari; he wasn't hanging about, even at the wheel of a few million dollars worth of machinery; I found myself bracing against the side of my armchair as he took those fast curves!
Glad to see the Conti on the list. My 68' cruises like no modern car at an easy 70mph, and shes all original right down to the points in the distributor.
The Toyota 2000GT is actually a Yamaha. Yamaha built these cars for Toyota. When Toyota built the Supra, they turned to Yamaha to design the engine. Yamaha also built the engine for the Ford SHO Taurus.
I watch this to see what they would say about the opal but they didn't have it in the video. I remember seeing one around my city park. It was like a mix of a corvette and a fiat syder.

The Mercedes 300SL Also Won the great Mexican "La Carrera Panamericana race" (1950 - 1954) in 1952 Driven by Karl Kling Co- driver Hans Klenk. His car was hit in the windshield by a flying Vulture during the first stage of the race, so he put metal bars across the windscreen and continued on. 2nd was a 300SL as well. This was a awesome road race on public roads for over 3500 KMs. It was banned due to too many deaths. (I think something like 27 dead altogether counting spectators and racers in the four years in was held
The first mustang looked like a smaller, cheaper imitation of the riviera. The roof line, side scoop, long hood , short trunk, the front and back bumper angles are all copied.
8 Old Classic Vintage Cars For RICH Real Men! With a few exceptions like the Buicks and the Continental, these classics are worth their weight in silver, if not gold. The video of the 53-4 Buick Skylark is a little bit off, wouldn't you say? On the right side of the vehile is where the front seat passenger is supposed to sit, the steering wheel belongs on the left side of the car, I don't know of any Buicks that were built for countries that required the people to drive on the left side of the road. One more thing, the Skylark being represented in convertible form didn't have four doors either. If I'm wrong please prove me wrong, I'll take the punishment. Regardless, I enjoyed the video and left a thumbs up. BTW, I grew up in Flint, Michigan and worked at Fisher Body, North and South units.
I would have pick the BMW unless the continental from that year offers so much as car featuring : space, classic design, good interiors, powerful engine. It's a Dream on wheels
1961-1969 Lincoln Continental. It is arguable the best American design ever. If not, then it is in the top five if not in the top three. And if Lincoln wants to use this car again, it had b etter look a lot more like this design than it did on the last version. It also BETTER be Rear-Wheel-Drive with the Company's best engine.
You have tremendous videos, great material, but it wouldn't kill if someone narrated the information instead of writing it with a CG. For sure! I have to pause the videos so I can read and also detail the takes, and apart from being annoying per se, sometimes UA-cam graphic interface gets over the text, so it's not possible to read it easily... Regards!!
i loved the video because of the raw sound of the engines, the Gto was the best for me, i don't care if it cost about a million $ nowadays it has always been expensive anyway, but at least "she"is still driven by someone.
The 2000gt makes me nut my pants, the day I have the money I'm going to find someone that can recreate the car the best they can (I wouldn't want to tear up a real one for obvious cost, and loss to the car culture) but get an Art-Morrison chassis and everything made, and I'll put the Toyota Century v12 in it with individual throttle bodies (1gzfe ITB, search it on youtube you will not be disappointed) and just turn it into a daily driver protouring car. I'd never get out.
xxroyalxtigerxx that would be amazing, the 1gz is also cool cause it is like the only production japenese car v12 and even without searching i know a v12 with itb will sound amazing man
A side note: The 63 Buick Riviera design was initially intended for Cadillac but Cadillac said "ah we're good" so Buick said "wow you sure bro, ok". Good move on Buick.
That is the most beautiful Toyota I have ever seen.
Did you mean the only beautiful Toyota?
Also the most collectible and expensive Toyota most people don't see on the streets.
@dan cussin

This video should be called: 8 Old Classic Vintage Cars for only Rich men
sergeant5027 buick riviera only for "rich" mens?
I don´t know how much this car cost in your country, but in my country is Buick Riviera for about 70 000 dollars. That´s not a cheap car.
63-65 Riveras are going for around 25K but most of these cars are for rich men.
sergeant5027 but the other are around hundreds of thousands and 70.000 is not really cheap anyway. By the way, in which country is that price?
Continentals are pretty cheap depending on model, the old man bought one in good working condition for $3000.
As a woman who loves cars, I assure you that these beautiful cars are not only for real men.
Brava!
Remember, WRC is for boys, Group B was for men and one extremely fast woman.
Allow me to say that you are one of a kind
Your opinion doesn’t count
thank you!

The Shelby Mustang sounds like a WWII fighter plane. Beautiful!!
Mustang actually was the name of a fighter plane
The 2000GT defines automotive "soul".

I'd never get out.
xxroyalxtigerxx that would be amazing, the 1gz is also cool cause it is like the only production japenese car v12 and even without searching i know a v12 with itb will sound amazing man
Other than the Honda v12 they made for Formula 1, it is the only Japanese v12 to ever go in production (:
A side note: The 63 Buick Riviera design was initially intended for Cadillac but Cadillac said "ah we're good" so Buick said "wow you sure bro, ok". Good move on Buick.
