On September 23, 2021, Toby Madden walked into the jail lobby at the Butler County Sherrifs Office with two rolling "carry-on" suitcases in tow. Madden then proceeded to inform a Sherrif in the main lobby that he had information regarding the location of a large quantity of drugs.
After speaking with Madden, the Sherrif then placed a call to the drug investigations department (known as the "BURN" unit) to inform them of Madden's claims. The BURN unit told them they would send someone over right away to talk to Madden.
Ten minutes later, two officers from the BURN unit arrived to speak with Madden about his claim.
Madden refused reveal the location of the drugs- which was odd, considering that's why he went there to begin with- but as Madden expressed his unwillingness to divulge the information, the officers noticed that he was simultaneously looking down toward one of his suitcases, and then back at the investigators.
Madden was also observed grabbing the handle of that suitcase- but sure to remove his off of the handle while denying he knew the location of the drugs. It became "very apparent" to the deputies that there was something in the suitcase. Eventually, the deputies asked for Madden's consent to search one of his suitcases, which Madden granted.
In that suitcase, the deputies recovered over 315.8 grams of meth, which is the equivalent to 11 ounces, respectively.

Holy moly! I thought he was a neighbor and nothing more! Then the daughter explains that her Mom was killed by this “Dad”. A dad is a loving, caring man. He’s nothing like that. Rot in jail buddy!!!

The time for Madden to cry was when the thought first came in his mind to kill someone. At that time he could have reached out for help for myself. After the woman died - its too late. He needs life in prison without parole. He destroyed his entire family.

Her poor daughter! I hope she still has a lot of family although family is also nit blood. So a good support system or group. So young and already lost her grandfather, grandmother, aunt, uncle and now her mother to a monster! I cant eay I know how she feels gor how her mother was taling away but and i know no bidy lives forever. I lost 3/4 of my family in less than two years and it knocked the hell out of me. Unfortunately life has never been the same. I will be praying gor her and everyone going through difficult times!

A bit shocking at the low sentencing, even if it it consecutive. However I think that he will never get out due to his temperament with added years due to maybe attacking other people in the Prison due to his erratic personality.
