You can tell these guys love what they do. And ain't that what it's all about when you get right down to it? Man, what a performance!! Just can't say enough about this group. Hopefully, they're coming to a city near us!!
one has to basically leave the country to see these guys... I have to take a few international flights just to get to the States from Oz :( BTW, I've listening to these guys since the '90's and they just get better and better with each album
doesnt matter when, whenever I listen to THESE guys, I realise how crap the music is we are subjected to on a daily basis... Fourplay will rule forever :)
São 5 da madrugada e eu ainda estou sem sono por conta desta maravilha de som, realmente fourplay é o meu estilo, vou remontar meu studio e voltar a fazer som similar, não dá pra ficar mais alienado!!!1
So wonderful this sound from such terrific musicians! It would be like have a pitching staff with Sandy Koufax, Bob Gibson, Jaun Marichal, and Nolan Ryan.
I ENJOYED THIS SESSION OF FOURPLAY IN CAPETOWN. LARRY CARLTON MAY NOT BE LEE RITENOUR BUT HE PLAYED WELL BECAUSE HE IS A MASTER OF THE TRADE. FOURPLAY REMAIN ONE OF THE GREATEST JAZZ GROUPS.
48:31 and following... this is where you must ask the question, "was Larry Carlton a suitable replacement for Lee Ritenour?" Here's where Larry shines... very difficult and complex riffs.... He pulls it off masterfully, specifically from 52:22 and following.
Different styles yes, but i don't think it was a coincidense that they brought in Larry when Ritt left. I mean, who else could replace him ? And don't forget that Larry actually did the longest stretch of time as the FP guitar.
Of all the Fourplay videos on youtube, this is the best IMO. Raw, elegant, spontaneous Fourplay!!!.
Even though its Larry vs Lee... Its amazing due to the development of the themes...

@dopeisking @jeffostroskiisgod
Como se llama la balada que canta el bajista en el minuto 44 ?????
Se llama "Journey"
Journey
Lee vs Larry ?.... Both fantastic players , however Larry does it for me ! Personal preference , I guess ...?
8.26 What name of song ? please.
Chant, it's from their second album "Between The Sheets"
Larry Carlton so far the best
Of course Larry was the obvious choice to replace Lee. Who else could ?
:)
I still prefer Lee Ritenour to Larry Carlton
I have to agree Chibueze. Not that we're complaining folks :)
Different styles yes, but i don't think it was a coincidense that they brought in Larry when Ritt left. I mean, who else could replace him ? And don't forget that Larry actually did the longest stretch of time as the FP guitar.
Larry has an wider angel than Lee- not that Lee is bad
Larry is blues rooted. Lee is more brazilian and classical rooted. Lee complemented better Bob's style both as player and composer.
