I'm 58 now. I got to know Dave Grusin's Mountain Dance through my 11 years older brother when I was 13, that's about 45 years ago. I am as thrilled by his music today as I was then. Basically, Dave has accompanied me throughout my life. I thank him for that.

Sonny is indeed one of Lee's best drummers and he's played with a few, especially the great Carlos Vega, but Sonny makes Lee's decision to drag along his son Wesley as part of the musical tag-team is more about nepotism than musicianship. You can't get any better than Sonny in terms of chops, in the pocket groove, and strong, consistent backbeat. Go listen to recent concerts, hear son Wesley, and then come back to this performance.

Yes I agree with you rayjr.9187. Just consider that there´s no more option: ! 1. to listen to good music and 2. to listen to trash music. Just people with sensibility is capable to distinguish and to choose the best. And this music from the excellent artists: Lee Ritenour and Dave Grusin, belong to the good music choice. And I would say: Is more than good. Is Celestial music. Congratulations to you for this choice !. I´m a jazz --fan from Mexico City. I love the jazz since 1987 with George Benson with his: Lady from the L.P: Breezin. and Dave Grusin with his. "She could be mine" from the: Out of the Shadows L:P. see you soon ! God bless you.

On June 26, 1934, Dave Grusin, an American jazz composer and pianist, was born. He is also known for composing film scores.
He received several awards, among others the Oscar for best score in 1989 for the soundtrack of the film The Milagro Beanfield War (Rebelião em Milagro) by Robert Redford, with the Brazilian Sônia Braga.

They are a highly politicized and spin doctored social media outlet, with an arrogant opinion of themselves, and a condescending attitude toward the art and artists they hold themselves out as knowing and having professional insight on. It is hilarious; plus, they've become nothing but an outlet for radical, leftist, drivel and lies, even worse. Their writers once ridiculed both The Beatles and solo albums of Paul McCartney. They suck-up to artists who have kissed their ass in the past. I love them.

Wow I love Dave Grusin's Mountain Dance. This use to be my favorite tune when I started listening to jazz. It has brought back the good old memories .Thanks Dave you made my night.

The rebirth of FourPlay. Dave Grusin is right up there with Bob James !
The drummer and bass player aren't half bad either

Dave Grusin is way beyond Bob James. He's on a level of his own in terms of composing and arranging in all styles of music. Bob James is extremely talented, but rooted in contemporary Jazz, with a few excursions into classical music. Dave Grusin has done it all...and better. They can't be compared.

Dave Grusin. Easily among my favorite musician-composer-performers of all time. Far too under appreciated. One of the all-time greats. Been loving his music for nearly 50 yrs. Still have his Sheffield Labs direct disc vinyls from the early '70s & the later CD releases. Never stop lovin' that sound!

I have never been that big on keyboard players, but Dave Grusin is the goods. I would love to jam with him. He can solo his ass off, but his real genius is all of the great background stuff he adds to every tune he plays on. Simply amazing vocabulary and feel. A true badass on the keys!

Lee makes it look so easy. Don't be fooled he's a genius I watched him close up at his club concert at Corner Hotel Richmond Victoria Australia maybe 2015. He's both brilliant and humble. I shook his hand after the show and was blown away with his innocence and generosity. Go Lee!!
