He died of sepsis due to untreated diverticulitis. He delayed getting medical attention because one of his beloved cats was sick. He was a musical genius. 💔
You reckon? His gf Pamela was with him at the time as admitted in that stupid book. He was critically Ill, and wouldn’t have been able to seek help. She also let him go in the ambulance alone to die alone! Then rang her buddy to take his stuff
@@becalina1987 His family has said that the book is full of inaccurate info. I wouldn't read it because of that.
@@leeann4743 the book is, Pamela was friends with the writer. Her account of what happened to peter is sickening. The fact she admitted to him being so sick yet never called for help is disgusting and she should be held accountable for his death
@@becalina1987 So sad...
@@leeann4743 it really is 💔
Met this legend on Halloween, he was buying some food. Told him I loved his music. He smiled and shook my hand. He had a sad, tired look on his face. He died six months later. RIP LEGENDARY ROCKSTAR.
So it's your fault. Thanks alot.

Life is sad. Then, ya die.
@@snisbet721 NeoKnight is the weirdo in here that was saying pedophilia should be legal. What a creep.
You are correct. As a friend of Peter (and friends with his niece) I can tell you he did NOT die of an overdose and it did NOT happen in Brooklyn. He passed away in his sleep at his house in PA where he had been living to get out from Brooklyn & any bad influences. He was clean, sober, looked great & reestablished his faith with the Catholic Church.
Glad to know he made it back to God before he passed! What a legend this man is.
Please tell me more about him, you're lucky to have been around him... I've been a fan since 2003, I really miss him even though he left so long ago
1453 st Anne Street. Scranton, PA. Right side of the attached home was his final residence.
and thank God for that. memory eternal to him ☦️
@@elmajlfq6882 He'd give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Very shy person, very funny & generous. Couldn't meet a nicer, kinder person. I know we all miss him & TON.
Not gonna lie. It took me 3 times to get through this whole video because there are no words for how much I miss this guy. Not only was he was just a larger than life talented vocalist he was one hell of an amazing person. He gave great hugs and followed it up with something like where's my wallet! My heart still breaks over how great he was but also how sad he was.
His music was healing, something about his words and the ambience of the music.i remember I was in Guam in 1994 when I first heard him, second Type O album too
I personally don’t think I’ve ever missed a celebrity like Peter Steele. He’s probably one of the few artists that I actually listened to every lyric. It sucks that I was only 11 when he passed away so I couldn’t see him in concert
I really feel that.
@@zepp3793 "He’s probably one of the few artists that I actually listened to every lyric."
Wow. I guess I never thought about it but I am the same way. My jaw sort of dropped when I read it. People have asked me what genre Type O is and all I can answer is they're Type O genre. You can call them Gothic Rock or whatever but it doesn't fit well with the music.
There will never be anything quite like it again.
When you listen to "Love you to Death" you can hear the amazing lows and highs of his vocal range. RIP, Peter.
🤮💚💚💚💚💚💚
Seeing any vod of Peter's legacy and last days always makes me very emotional, i wish he had gone to the hospital when his health started to fail, diverticulitis is not a death sentence! He put off surgery, and alot of people do not know this but when his health was failing, his cat Tito's health was failing due to old age, Peter loved this cat almost more than life, and it shows in how things happened that day. He told close friends to take Tito to the vet, he didn't care about his own health. Tito died in the morning, Peter died in the evening the same day. I hope they are both resting peacefully together, looking down on us all..
💚💚💚
😭
As someone who suffers with Crohn’s disease, I can attest to the pain and suffering you experience during these flareups. I’ve seen the home where he lived bc I only live about 45 min from Scranton and my uncle lives just down the road. So when we go to visit him we have to pass by it. It breaks my heart every time. I think of Peter in there, being in pain, sepsis taking hold. And it’s devastating. Doubly so considering my father passed away with complications of a sepsis infection this past March. I’ll never stop loving these two larger than life men who nurtured my love of all things music, nature and finding the humor through tears. Rest in POWER🖤
As a die-hard Type O Negative fan I couldn't help but love this video. It moved me a lot. Don't even express what I felt. Thanks for everything guys
R.I.P. Peter
Thank you for clearing up how he actually died. Epic band and an Epic singer.....Rest easy Peter.
Sort of cleaned it up, he died from diverticulitis...which is very difficult to link to anything in his previous lifestyle. It's mostly related to diet and bad luck. He was clean when he died, getting ready to work on new music. Had he agreed to go to the hospital in the several preceding days that he was sick in bed, he'd still be with us. He died in the ambulance. Kind of tragic, really. RIP Peter.
@@AaronScutt Wow i mean people live with Diverticulitus . That is very sad and tragic. If only we could go back in time right?
I almost died from diverticulitis that created a blockage and caused sepsis. Months of recovery. Thankful to be alive

It's a biography on Peter. Somewhat controversial because the band and family didn't authorize it.. but the death story has been verified.
@@KristineS73 Mine flares up occasionally, but it's a quick fix for me by diet, Metamusal and Amoxicillin.
Criminally underrated band and artist. Can't believe he's gone. And that it's been 13 years
I met him at a rehab I worked in PA called Clearbrook. Dude was enormous! Now I moved back to PA and the house he passed in is only like 7 miles from me. One of my favorite song writers.
Type o Negative has this way of making you extremely sad and happy at the same time. Peter was a phenomenal front man.
Never in my life have I clicked faster on a UA-cam video, Peter Steele was and is such a legend 💚🖤
There will never be another band that will ever come close to the sound Type o Negative came out with, such a great unique band.

I was privileged and fortunate enough to see them on their final tour just months before his passing. Man, I miss TON.❤
Wow, I can't believe it's already been 13 years since he passed. Time flies, right? Type O was life when I was a lot younger and now I get to blare their music with my teenager who's followed in my freaky footsteps. Great video, thanks guys!
your kid is the death of you
OMG, how did you get your teenager to dig your music.... Mine, sadly does not. Think I'm too much of a dick since I did it all when I was her age. She likes Soundgarden....at least it's not pop hip or whatever the fuck their calling it!
@@assshakerstudios549 IDK man, music of all genres is almost always being played in the background in our family and has been his whole life. He was definitely into a wider variety when he was little. He's getting really into the goth scene now so I've been lending him all the "old stuff" like Cradle of Filth, Type O and Ministry for example, to see what he thinks. Sometimes he loves it, sometimes not so much. But it's a two-way street, I may not love some of the music he plays for me but sometimes he finds these underground gems that are brilliant.
I’m 14 and I love type o negative, it’s sad that Peter died 4 days before my first birthday
I was captivated by Type O Negative's music and the hauntingly beautiful voice of Peter Steele, harmonized by Kenny Hickey's backup vocals. Seeing Peter's final resting place in a video tugged at my heartstrings, making it difficult to fathom a world without his presence. The void left by his absence feels surreal, as if the world has lost a part of its essence. Recently, a strange twist of fate occurred when my new doctor invited me to participate in a clinic blood drive. Upon learning that Type O- blood was in high demand, I was struck by the coincidence that my blood type mirrored the band's name, a revelation I had never considered before. Thanks for making this video. 💚🖤💚
I love Peter Steele and Type o Negative. I met this band through my ex-boyfriend and fell in love. The dark atmosphere combined with Peter's singing is something beautiful. I really regret that I haven't been to any Type o Negative concerts. Peter's death was a great shock and sadness to me. Thank you very much for this episode. You are great. Greetings from Poland.

Peter’s bass was hanging up in the Hard Rock Cafe !!!! The band HIM started out the would cover Typo Negative songs !!! Thanks for covering this artist!!!
Not every musician's passing hits me hard, but Peter's did. I love Type O's music and Peter's dark humor. Not a year goes by when I don't play October Rust in the fall. I got to meet them at an in store signing when World Coming Down was released. I also was lucky to have seen them live a number of times. I visited NY in 2010 and a few days after I came back Peter had passed away. I never knew that he had a bench or a tree in his honor. Thank you so much for taking us on this adventure, Michael and Jessica. May Peter continue to rest in peace. Happy Halloween.
I saw Type O Negative w/ Pantera live in concert in the 90's and it was awesome. 🤘
Awww Peteo! He was my favorite singer in the 90$!! He was so beautiful inside an out. His lyrics always touch my depressed soul. He bought me outta sadness to happiness. My childhood was sad and full to b.s. and he save me from that. I love u to death Peter and I'll always miss you.

Yes, i love Type O Negative. This segment is awesome. Thanks for sharing.
I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Peter and Type O. My cousin, who happened to be my best friend, introduced me to the band while I was young. She was about ten years older than me, once I got a little older she took me to one of their shows. We were super close because we both liked metal and horror movies. She committed suicide about 20 years ago. I still think about her every time I hear Type O. September sun was her favorite, or one of many, because there are so many good ones. Thanks for the video or videos I should say.

Peter was one of those few people who are irreplaceable. The song ideas, lyrics, vocal themes, orchestration solutions, even the graphic ideas for the album covers and the Type O colors all come from him. Type O was a team and Josh, Kenny, Johnny were also part of the success but Peter was the creative "starting point". Wisely, the others didn't want to continue without him, and that's nice. As Johnny Kelly said years ago about whether the band would continue: "It hasn't even come up in any kind of discussion, like, 'Hey, what do you think? Are there possibilities?' When Peter died, Type O Negative died with him."
The legacy of Type O and Peter will be with us for a long time thanks to fans and new generations of music lovers. Let's listen to Peter's music, that's what he wants too.
