    I will never forget how scary it was that hot summer, my dad was a bouncer at night clubs in Hollywood and worked all night and didn't come home in till the early mornings. We had to keep all our windows closed all night and I slept with a baseball bat to protect my mom and sister incase the Night Stalker showed up. My dad said I was the man of the house when he was at work. As a 11 year old I took that seriously. We were so excited to hear he was finally caught

    RIP to the victims. The first victims were just pulling into their driveway and were randomly and brutally killed. Police were baffled because there was no motive. Soon later police would realize they had a serial murderer on their hands. Once he was labeled the Nightstalker, his crimes got even more brutal and he relished in the name.

      That's the crappy part about someone like him, Bundy, you name it, you know they're on the loose, and if the law can't catch them, it's pretty much up to you. That's the greatest part of how he was caught, the people took the law into their own hands. To this day, I'm still surprised they didn't kill him, the law would have just passed it off and called it an accident.

    Thank you Michael for your hard work.
    My boyfriend is from East L.A. and at the time of all this, he was in L.A. County Jail where Ramirez was finally taken.
    One day it was time for the vans to pick up inmates to take them to the courthouse. And my boyfriend was loaded up on the van with other inmates from East L.A. The van door was all the way open and another van rolled up about 2 parking spaces over and out comes Ramirez shackled and many correctional officers. Ramirez looks at the guys in East L.A. bus and says “Hey Homies!” Like he was some kind of celebrity and all the gangster from East L.A. said who you calling homie? All the guys were upset that he killed women and old lady. And Ramirez got so scared and he shut up. He was running scared at the jail. They gangs let him know he was done. After court he was kept in segregation because the correctional officers knew he wouldn’t survive unless he was P.C. d out.
    Once at San Quentin he was on lock down. That’s the only way he survived all those years.

    Great video! I was 8 years old living in West Covina at the time Richard Ramirez was on his spree. I completely understood what was going on because our parents and teachers talked about it pretty openly. It was a turning point in our neighborhoods where people got bars on their windows and replaced their locks to heavy duty locks. Before this, no one really thought about home security. It really was a very scary time.

There was a murder that happened maybe five miles from where I was living at the time in north Whittier. It was a relief that Richard Ramirez was caught. Years later I got a book about the murders and it was hard to read. Much of what he did rivals horror movies. A really sick individual who deserved the death penalty but died comfortably in a prison hospital.

    • @khosmoz
      @khosmoz 5 місяців тому

      It's quite simple. He saw those Polaroid photos of raped and killed vietnamese women as a child. He was raised for things like that to be normal. And he was tutored by this very older cousin, who also shot his wife in front of him, to use and make up weapons and fight. It was as normal to him, as is watching tick tock videos all day is normal to an average child now. Being severely abused since very early age, he never saw love, as most people think of it. Everyone was an enemy to him. There were literally no moral boundaries, cause they never existed. And, as he was on coke all the time, it made him incredibly horny and aggressive (getting to the snort again). Coke simply makes a person think they are very special. Like the king of the day or something. Everything becomes surrealistic. There is a saying: give an ignorant man a drug, and he will become more ignorant.

      @@khosmoz I don't think it's quite so simple. Certainly his life events and influences, combined with drugs, contributed to this man's warped mind. However, there are others who have experienced terrible abuse and viewed things they never should have as children, yet few become as evil as this guy. Many people actually overcome their tragic pasts and the abuse and pain stops with them and doesn't proceed into the next generation.

    This was a terrifying time!! I was 13 then and living in the "Bay Area" only 3 hours or so North...anytime you heard that name "The Night Stalker" it brought chills!! I grew up with a girl that thought she saw him spying on her in the shower, through the bathroom window around 87'88; A dog scared him off and he ran down the side yard but who knows.... Im certain he was up and down the Coast of Cali, with DNA evidence not really existing in much capacity in the mid 80's, I think the Golden State Killer and Richard probably killed 50 people between them, no-one really knows. Thank God for those brave men that beat him and stopped him!!
