Scopro ogni volta colori e sfumature differenti.
I both listen to and watch (yes!) this video every couple months. So many of the world's most talented musicians creating a true magic. There is nothing like watching a bunch of immensely talented people doing something they love.
When you think about all these interprets together, but also the composers, as this Bach piece was a reinterpretation/homage of one of Vivaldi's greatest concerto's.
I think I've discovered this piece a week ago now, and I listened this piece at least 30 times after this discovery. Due to the splendid performance I must listen to this piece at least once a day. Especially the second part, Largo, is beautiful. Thanks Argerich, Kissin, Levine, Pletnev and of course the string orchestra!
Found this by accident while looking for the concert for 2 pianos that I'm working on with my teacher. Cannot stop watching! My teacher has sent this video to countless friends!
OMG the pianissimo (I mean the dynamics, it's not a joke about 4 pianos on stage lol) parts are so perfectly done. Something that truly can only be achieved when all 4 pianists are good and know what they're doing.
These are people whose professional recordings I have all enjoyed. I look at each one of them and I think about their interpretations of my favourite pieces and how they have collaborated with the others at some point in their career. Now they're all playing the same piece together on the same stage!!! So trippy i can't believe this happened.
Precisely! An embarrassment de riches! for four full sized grand pianos I should have preferred their lids to be shut, so as not to eclipse the continuo/ripieno.
Thank you, UA-cam and meneltar! I feel privileged to be able to hear this amazing music performed by the finest musicians of our time.... The slow movement at 7 min is the essence of Bach.....
The four soloists are clearly outstanding, but musicians in the orchestra are not quite at a loss either! I believe I saw Sarah Chang playing second violin! They all look like they are having such good time. Thank you for posting.
unbelievably beautiful and sublime..... so wonderful to see James Levine playing piano! and all these top string players, masters in their own right, participating in the orchestra. WOW. just, WOW.
I think of Bach and am now with him in concert as we both weep with emotion to hear this transcendent performance of one of his most transformational works lo these many centuries later.
I doubt this can be considered one of his most transformational works since Vivaldi was the original composer of this concerto for 4 violins. Beautifully transcribed by Bach yes, but composed by Vivaldi
love this video, especially to see wordless conversations between virtuosos, like their faces, eye contacts or smiles, etc. such points really moves my heart, as well as their sounds. I don't play any musical instruments, so I wish if I could play like them.
No combination of words or phrases can describe the pure essence of awesomeness created and synthesized by these four pianos and orchestral arrangement. I am truly moved and transcended by such a truly wonderful masterpiece. Perhaps there is nothing more transcending or magical as this song... or is there?
Please stop calling all music songs. I also ask you to refer to your computer dictionary for a definition of the word "song." Remember SONGS = SINGING. Big companies call everything songs because they can divide these pieces up into many segments and by charging you for each part make more money.

Bach can't be wrong about his taste in music
How do you get this much talent on stage at one time? Bach must have pretty powerful connections wherever he is.
