Ah, two grand masters still have their "chops" not only that, but are at the top of their "game" and by far, the whole of this performance is greater than the sum of its parts. Glorious - thanks to all!

I am SO glad that I stumbled on to this piece. I love Daniel Barenboim and his approach to music. I also have been listening to Martha Argerich for years and to see them together making making such grand music on a difficult piece such as our friend Wolfgang created is PURE HEAVEN.

My wife has had seizures since she was 10, and she is now 65. She has had three surgeries and been on almost every seizure drug there is. None of this had helped. It was rare for her to go two full weeks without a seizure. We first heard about the Mozart effect on June 1st of this year and she started listening to this recording on June 2nd. Today is July 21st and she has not had a seizure for the past 51 days. Real or coincidence? We're not going to make that determination yet but this is the longest she has gone without a seizure for at least the last 20 years or so. We listen to this recording a couple of times during the day and she lets it play on repeat all night while she sleeps. We have added in Mozart's k545 as it is also said to help, just not quite as much as 448. Time will tell, but we're hopeful.

Nothing wrong with that at all - but it’s good to balance the scales a bit and show the full spectrum of gifted musicians that we have in this world.

It's true that were born in Buenos Aires; Agerich in June 1941 and Barenboim in November 1942. But they never met there as children. Apparently, they never met until adulthood, and by then neither of them were in South America.

@@RWBHere In fact they did meet when they were seven or eight years old. A Viennese banker who had fled Nazi Europe had bought a mansion jIn Buenos Aires and organized a musical evening each Friday. All sorts of people attended, among them Martha and Daniel who were taken there by their respective mothers. Martha recalls that Daniel seemed to be able to play just about anything on the piano which apparently made her uncomfortable ! Later, as young adults, they led their own respective lives and didn't play together again until many years later in Paris, I believe. Happy listening !

@@margaretminiere7318 that's not what a 'meeting' really means for a lot of people. They did not meet as musicians. As musicians we meet and spend a few weeks jamming out. We don't see one another from across the room in a crowded place. That's not a 'meeting'. Unfortunately seems to be acceptable meaning these days ... whereby having met some one becomes completely meaningless. We know our online friends we never met better than most people we 'met' :)

Barenboim and Argerich have known each other since they were very young and have been friends since the 1940's. They perform often together. One reason that Argerich gets along so well with Barenboim is because he knows he can't cop an attitude with her if he doesn't get his way, because she will clip his ear if he tries to. Others don't fare as well with Maestro Barenboim.
