After going over 200 watches I settled on GS omiwatari and Certina ds8 titanium as a two piece collection.
Insane timekeeping, great wearing experience and with ad discounts it ain't that crazy of a price.
Start with a Rolex submariner. It’s iconic, you can most of your money back, and it may just become one and done.
Watch collecting is a damn expensive hobby, especially if you like luxury timepieces. Having said that, compared to sneakers and bags, they aren't bad value at all. The materials are superior and they are built to last.
I'd say it's best to start with a cheaper watch and move 'upward' if necessary, but if you find a good affordable watch that you are perfectly happy with, like a friend of mine who recently bought a Hamilton Murph, you may not bother with more expensive watches, which is better for your wallet.
I collect perfumes... And watches now. Pray for me 🙏🏻

Im thinking of basing my collection around classics such as explorer, moon watch, Santos, reverso etc. Do you think this is a sound strategy?
Also, with this in mind, should i go vintage or modern?

@@RichMitch my best advice would be to first try what you like. Maybe those are classics, but you may not like them as much when having them in your collection.
