My nutritionist today told me just today that I had to have fruits, vegetables and grains to have a healthy "balanced" diet. She told me my high saturated fat diet (Ketovore) was not heart healthy, and that my "bad" LDL and cholesterol would be high on my next test. I said that I knew that, but that my triglycerides were lower from 5 months ago, and HDL was higher. I told her those two would be much better next with month's test and that I expected my LDL and cholesterol would be higher; and that if that bothered her and my PCP, all they had to do was do an advanced lipid profile to see the size of the LDL particles. I could hear the shock in her voice that I knew that information.
They dont even need to do an advanced lipid profile hdl/tg rate would be enough. Your hdl was higher and tg was lower which means your oxidised ldl is actually lower not higher despite having more ldl
🌟For myself I am on a high fat, low(in comparison to previous consumption)carbohydrate diet. After a full check up with my physician, all my blood levels, IR levels and all other markers were perfect, however my cholesterol was 5.2 she prescribed statins (against my protestations & comments) and recommended a high fibre low fat diet...why?🤦🏻 Needless to say I'm avoiding her advice and medication January 2024
I'm a diploma level nutritionist and have been delving through the filth to find the truth about nutrition over the last 6 months. I've been qualified for 6 years but I've become completely aware of what trash the information in my diploma was. You're now my gold standard of reference along with a couple of others who are singing from the same song sheet as you.
I stopped arguing with the doctors; I just don't take the medications they prescribe, and don't follow their suggested diet. And each visit, they tell me how great I'm doing, with my lipid panel great, my HgbA1c low, all the other blood tests good, and my blood pressure good. They tell me to keep up taking the same medications, and continue to follow the same diet and exercise routine. Little do they know, that they're suggesting that I don't take any of their advice.
The travesty is that so many patients trust their Doctors advice and end up not getting better, or actually getting worse, when they could be getting better.
Deb, I strongly recommend ignoring A1C completely though, that's a worthless test found to be 73% inaccurate. Tell them to test your insulin levels at least
Dr. Mason, I believe you may have saved my life. 6 months ago, I was so desperate to lose weight I was ready to try surgery or drugs. I came on youtube and did a search on "Easy ways to lose weight". One of your videos came up. After watching it I started thinking about going Keto. Of course then videos from Nina Techholz and Dr. Berry started coming up in my feed. I decided to try it for 2 weeks. 6 months later am now Ketovore and have lost over 50 lbs. I now know I have Lipedema. Low carb diets are the best diet for that too. If I had not come across your video, I would probably be close to 300 lbs, on statins, pre-diabetic and would have given up. Thank you for putting the message out with such great results from your patients. That is what made me believe this could work for me.
I’m a 30 year survivor of AIDS and related diseases at age 71. I’m strictly carnivore for 7 months and loving it! BP dropped to 118/68 and I quit amlodipine. Now I’ve quit the statin due to extreme leg cramps. I’m quitting desvenlafaxine, and want to quit 2 other heart meds. I hope my doc can keep up with me! Thank you! ❤
Yes, after my doctors led me down the path of weight gain, stroke (TIA), heart stent, type2 diabetes, I finally found Keto diet and reversed type2 eliminated 2 BP meds, and statins, so yes I am smarter!
I'm new to this. In my mid fifties. I was desperately trying to reduce my blood pressure from 180 over 120. I'm 5 weeks Keto and my blood pressure is hovering around 120 on 80. It hasn't been that good since my early twenties. I wasn't trying to lose weight but I'm losing weight at a rate of roughly 1 kilogram a week. The Keto diet has been nothing less than miraculous for me.
Agreed, watched my Auntie go down the road of dr. advice with all kinds of prescriptions for sugar diabetes type 2, SHE DIED WHILE THEY LINED THEIR F****** POCKETS WITH HER HARD EARNED MONEY😭
The main problem though is we are fighting big food & big pharma. They want us all addicted to sugar so we eat, eat, eat & buy, buy, buy; i.e.big food profit. As a result we slowly become sicker & sicker, thereby are prescribed & take more, more, more mediations; i.e. big pharma profit.
@@Farlig69 At the same time making the food that is acutally healthy expensive, so most cant afford it. It's really obvious what's going on, people who can't see it will never see it. It's more obvious then ever.
My doctor said the same thing to me after seeing me loosing 20lbs in 3 months. She was amazed by the results and yet still said that my diet was not healthy. I never went back to see the doctor and it was 5 years ago. I am a 49 year old and still maintaining my weight at 118 for over 5 years.
I'm anticipating something similar from my doctor when I have my annual physical on 25 Jan. I've lost nearly 50 pounds since my last physical a year ago and my belly fat is gone. At 150 pounds, I am at the weight I was in high school 50 years ago. But I'm sure I will get a lecture about how my keto diet/lifestyle is not healthy. I decided last summer I would make myself responsible for my own health rather that obediently accepting every new pill my doctor wants to prescribe to me.
"This study prospectively examined the relationship between low carbohydrate diets, all-cause death, and deaths from coronary heart disease, cerebrovascular disease (including stroke), and cancer in a nationally representative sample of 24,825 participants of the US National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) during 1999 to 2010. Compared to participants with the highest carbohydrate consumption, those with the lowest intake had a 32% higher risk of all-cause death over an average 6.4-year follow-up. In addition, risks of death from coronary heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, and cancer were increased by 51%, 50%, and 35%, respectively. The results were confirmed in a meta-analysis of seven prospective cohort studies with 447,506 participants and an average follow-up 15.6 years, which found 15%, 13%, and 8% increased risks in total, cardiovascular, and cancer mortality with low (compared to high) carbohydrate diets. Professor Banach said: "Low carbohydrate diets might be useful in the short term to lose weight, lower blood pressure, and improve blood glucose control, but our study suggests that in the long-term they are linked with an increased risk of death from any cause, and deaths due to cardiovascular disease, cerebrovascular disease, and cancer."" www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2018/08/180828085922.htm
Honestly, this is the best presentation I've ever seen by a doctor. Hands down. I've followed the traditional food guidelines that US doctors push with no success. I've always felt that I was the failure. I just turned 50. Last week I spent 3 days in bed because I couldn't put any pressure on my GOOD knee. The inflammation in my hands is debilitating. Here in the US we don't have healthcare, and if you did but lost your job due to the pandemic, you also lost your healthcare like me. As I'm watching the video it's making sense and then the testimonial by the patient saying that "she didn't realize how sick she was" hit home. Then the example of skin tags made total sense. I have them in those areas. I thought they were just a bothersome thing and not a signal of an underlying condition. I'm on heart meds, and recently metformin. Yesterday I purged my cupboards of everything that is not Keto friendly. I realized that there are so many foods that I didn't know that were good for me! Furthermore, I've been shopping at stores lately that have lots of Keto stuff. Today was my first 24 hours without any sugar. I managed. I'm tall at 5'10" but with a BMI of 41. The goal is to get that down to the mid 20's. Maybe get back to my weight in my late teens. I've come to this cross roads of going Keto because I cannot afford the gastric sleeve surgery which is still only a tool for weight lost. This is actually the right way to get to my goal. I'm sharing this with friends. Dr Mason thank you for your clear approach.
@@monica93304 I certainly hope your low carb journey back to ever increasing health is still up and running. Am curious if any of that (hand/knee etc) inflammation was auto immune - or really just a result/fall-out from wrong diet/overweight? Wishing you well : )
I'm a professional chef and I am required BY LAW to know about nutrition. After a doctor told me that "it doesn't matter what you eat for your health"- that's the last time I went to doctors.
Doing keto with intermittent fasting for year and a half that’s what happened to me: 1- weight dropped from 116kg to 79kg 2- get rid of BP and statin medication 3- no more foggy brain 4- memory improved significantly 5- full of energy all the time And the list goes on, So yes I’m definitely smarter than my doctor. Thanks Dr.Mason
@@faustopereira3644 I lost 60kg through fasting and a high-carb vegetarian diet. I am so confused. Losing my mind. So much conflicting information out there. I eat white rice, potatoes, bread... and my blood-sugar is next to perfect (long-term blood-sugar).
I can totally agree about all the conflicting information. You will always be better of with any diet when applying some basic rules: no or much less sugar, no seed oils. Because of former diabetes II diagnosis, I reduced carbs as well. Currently little confused about vegetables though.
When you said that your patient didn't know how sick she was until she lost all that weight really hit home. I had no idea that my gut issues, arthritis, fatigue and dizzy spells were all directly related to my diet. 4 years on ketovore and I will never go back.
Well, diet is a majority of metabolic health but you won't be healthy or live long just from diet alone. Muscles are vital to longevity. Glad you made good changes so far though!
I have Kaiser Permanente in Southern California and my young MD congratulated me on my 35-lb weight loss. She was surprised at how I achieved it (keto/carnovore) and has been wonderfully supportive. We're following my lab work to see how my eating strategy affects key markers. I feel great and getting back to my college-age dancer's body shape has lifted my spirits immeasurably. I'm 68 and I feel young again.
Yes I've seen many gain their youthful body back. I'm looking forward to that. I want the body back that I had after my last baby. I'd be happy with that.
I’m an MD, now specialized in Anesthesiology, and I can attest we as MDs get little to no education on Nutrition. Even worse, I think most are on the first peak of the Dunning-Kruger effect and think they are experts but have very little knowledge (I’m starting at least to recognize how little I know about the subject)
Not a problem... I am an electronics engineer and we had vacuum tubes in school. Then came transistors and microprocessors and I made an effort to educate myself continuously.. I was completely up to date on the latest and greatest in my specialization... until my retirement. Gracefully I accept, that I have fallen behind since.
I’m a retired RN, carnivoire(mostly) for a year. It was a huge learning curve, I used to teach that nonsense! I’m noticing finer points of ‘detoxification from plants’- oxalate dumping! Yikes- complicated! I’ve no professional to consult with, (my GP yelled at me on the phone), so I’m doing a ‘do.google’…so far doing good….. I’m heartbroken when my friends, also seniors, succumb to these various diseases…..I have tried to talk,…”have you thought of alternate approaches- maybe diet…?”, usually gets a NO !, so sad🙏
I've proven all of this as well, to myself and doctors. I am 69, been on keto for almost 2 years, went from 145 down to a good weight for my 5'2" small boned frame, at 116 lbs. US. Brought my T2's HbA1c's down to normal, got rid of some nagging aches and pains said to be arthritis, and the list goes on of health benefits.
Exactly my scenario. About 18 months ago my doctor told me to go onto the 'recommended' low fat 'food pyramid' diet. I was 103 KGS and had been taking Nexium for about 7 years for my reflux. After five months on the 'recommended' low fat diet I had lost no weight and I had become prediabetic and my reflux was even worse than it had been. So after much research I went Keto and in six months lost almost 20 KGS, no longer suffered from reflux (ditched Nexium for good) and returned to see my doctor for a checkup. First she walked past me twice in the waiting room while looking for me (she didn't recognise me) and when she finally realised it was me she couldn't believe it and weighed me and checked my vitals. She congratulated me on sticking to her recommended diet and when I told her I didn't and had been doing Keto she was not only shocked but berated me saying Keto was a fad, unproven and likely would cause me health issues. Then after my blood test came back showing I was no longer prediabetic she still could not accept it was because of Keto and told me I would risk my health if I continued with it.
Congratulations and what a real shame that this is replicated around the world. However, you have planted a seed of doubt in her brain. Hopefully this will grow and she will begin to question the dogma for herself.
DOCTORS WILL NEVER ACCEPT THEY ARE WRONG ...I HAVE BEEN CARNIVOROUS FOR A WHILE FELL BETTER BUT MY LDL HAS GONE UP 240 THEY WANT TO COSIDER STATINS AND THEY HAVE MADE ME LOWER MEAT AND EGG INTAKE...WHAT CAN I DO???
The Danish Nutrition Guide Lines just came out. Promoting a high carb diet with plant oils, low animal protein, low satuated fat and low salt. OMG I feel like I’m living in the dark ages.
In my (also Nordic) country doctors are almost shouting and calling people stupid, in debates in the television, when they tell nutrition changes has made them healthy and especially low-carb and Keto is told to be a very dangerous experiment. Lucky us we aren’t fed experimental vaccines this year? 😩
Politics...not nutrition. Same thing is about to happen in the USA with the new Administration..... Their aim is to reduce all animal-based foods by 50%.
My "unhealthy" high fat diet cured my gout, my skin tags disappeared, my athsma improved, my high blood pressure reduced to normal, my chronic back pain disappeared and reduced my intake of indigestion tablets from 90 a week to zero for a full year and more! And yes! I also lost a load of weight and became comfortable with intermittent fasting!
When I told my doctor I was on low carb Keto she said she'd been low carb for almost 20 years. She had started Atkins in early 2000s. She had never promoted the diet for obvious reasons but has been happy with my results. Based on comments herein I'm very lucky to have found my doctor. Within 18 months on Keto my eye sight changed 1.5 diopters in each eye. Since then my right eye has improved a total of 2 diopters. Have also had a big improvement in inflamation and overall health. My triglyceride/HDL ratio is consistantly around 1.
Spread that truth, Dr. Mason! I had four of the five metabolic syndrome markers and I had to do the research to diagnose myself! My doctor wanted me on five different medications to manage the symptoms of the metabolic disease. He had no idea that treating the umbrella disease that to him, didn’t exist for my case, would heal all the issues I was having. Diabetes, hypertension, high triglycerides, thrush, skin tags, gum disease. Your research was a huge part of my healing. THANK YOU from the US!
Mine has also been clueless at times but has learned a great deal from me and thanks me for it. Don't get me wrong, each new bend in the road meets the same resistance initially and then leads to thankfulness for my patience. Not the best scenario but at least he admits that, as a general practitioner, he's thankful for resilient folks like me who n
Thank you so much. I've been on diets all my life. Nothing worked for me except gaining weight and thinking the problem was 'me'. I now follow a healthy low-carb and from 132kg today I'm at 78kg. I wish I had this information years ago however I'm happy now at the age of 50 and feel so well. Thanks to all the doctors that admit they had wrong information and are willing to share what they know now. Thankyou Doctor, may you be blessed❤
Weight loss is great to shrink the suppose, but for true metabolic health (longevity), build muscle through strength training via weights/resistance + cardio 😊 Exercise is found to treat & reverse 26 chronic diseases!!
Nutritionist and Dieticians re mostly clueless. I still cannot believe the food that Hospitals serve patients. All Sugar. Toast, Jelly, Cereal, Pancakes, Yogurt, Cookies, Cheap Ice Cream. How can a hospital dietician see that and think all is well?
The doctors don't have the experience of cooking rice brown rice which no one seems to want to eat in a steam cooker with chicken breast over the top to minimize oil usage, and then cook vegetables either in a steam bag in the microwave or over the top of the rice as the rice finishes, mix the two together and use an Asian style sauce to add more flavor, not a whole lot just enough to make it palatable... Only to find the ravenous hunger occurs and sometimes your stomach will be full to the brim it you still feel hungry, and you can't figure out how you're supposed to do this portion size thing when you eat filling food and you're still hungry. I guess they forgot to tell the doctors in med school that the type 2 diabetes issue in Asian countries is far greater than ours even though they're obesity epidemic is less than ours. But somehow it's our fault that we get low blood sugar which is why fat shaming almost never works and should not be used. You're shaming someone for eating like an Asian but not looking like one. Oh and God forbid anyone who tells you to eat less move more God forbid they ever tell you what over exercising is how it slows down your metabolism especially when combined with calorie restriction which further slows down your weight loss because eventually your body just adapts. and I was doing sporadic cheat days too to keep my body from getting into any sort of rhythm. Hi dogmatically followed the best advice I could get. I even tried just not eating anything for a day at which my blood sugars would crash and I would get hypoglycemic. I figured if I could skip 2,000 calories one day a week I would be better off for it but lo and behold I wasn't fat adapted because I didn't know what that adaptation really was, so I would get low blood sugar and crash. Doctors talk about managing diabetes. is it really worth it to go through extreme lengths to manage something that you could otherwise cure with a few tweaks. Coconut flour and almond flour instead of skipping waffles. Instead of just eating fewer waffles to get your grains in you can instead just focus on eating higher quality ingredients, and if you happen to have an underlying gluten sensitivity you might just feel better. It's almost as if doctors weren't taught s***. Cost you $100,000 to become a doctor and you're not even taught enough nutrition to do your f****** job. Doctors and gynecologists told my wife she'd never have a period again. My wife changed her eating windows in her period started up after months. 17 years without a period and she did not change her diet she did not go keto she would end a fast by eating a bag of chips which I recommended against so she wasn't even doing anything ideal she was doing the bare minimum. Lost 50 to 60 lb not trying to restrict calories and got her periods back. This is why I just take the I'm too poor to pay for health insurance route on my taxes so I don't get charged to fee. I legitimately can't afford paying for health insurance unless I'm anticipating half of my yearly salary and costs that's when the deductibles the monthly fees start to outweigh the cost of not having it that's about when they break even. So I just have to not end up in a car accident even though it's not in my control I just have to not have a medical health emergency. What a sad State of affairs that Americans are in. Healthcare is so expensive and you're better off just spending that money on food. Not even top quality food just cheapest eggs at the grocery store cheapest meats at the butcher or the grocery store, and some almond flour coconut flour pancakes here and there.
@@LTPottenger To their credit, prizes tend to go to discoveries that are proven, not hypotheses. That's for the sciences, the "peace" prize is a different story.
I started keto in January 2022. I am a 37 year old male, before starting the diet I was 97kg, felt tired all the time and would regularly suffer from headaches and migraines, sometimes they would be so bad leaving the house was virtually impossible. 11 months later I weigh 80kg, energy levels are great, and remarkably I’ve only had one headache that I can recall all year and it was Covid induced. In case anyone is wondering what I eat regularly I will add below. Grass fed beef Lots of fish Eggs Bacon Greek yogurt Some berries Watermelon 15ml mct oil I only eat between 2pm and 6pm with the small amount of carbs that I eat being at the end of the eating window, close to 6pm ( I find I sleep better finishing with carbs, max 40g a day though give or take.) to anyone considering going on their own low carb journey I wish you luck!!!
One of the best videos on Insulin Resistance and Metabolic Syndrome.... and much more. Paul Mason has done amazing work in this succinct presentation to bring all aspects such as low carb diet, importance of adequate protein, salt, saturated fat and horrible effects of vegetable oils and the importance regenerative sleep and much more! What an amazing presentation... will forward it to many healthcare colleagues. I educated my GP in Sydney and sent her many links (Dr Phinney, Volker, Mason, Feldman, Fong, Nadir Ali, Ivor Cummings and Prof Sikaris and more) why my LDL was so sky-high on strict keto and carnivore.... to her credit she actually refereed me to you...and never mentioned about starting statin again. Hopefully, I will get to meet you one day. Respect and keep up the good work, Sir.!
My experience with doctors is they believe "I'm the doctor you are wrong". Their unwillingness to listen to what their patient is telling them, and simply dismiss them as uneducated and/or stupid (even though I have higher qualifications than most medical doctors) is the biggest problem not their education. I have multiple conditions and every doctor would give me more medication, every medication they game me addressed one symptom and caused 3 more or made another condition worse. Of course the other condition wasn't their specialty so didn't matter, when I insisted it did I was labeled uncooperative or hypochondriac. I have a mental illness so clearly everything was all in my head, despite the fact that every time I was told this the physical cause has been found eventually (to date there are 5 examples) but only because after the first two occasions which took 5+ years to resolve, I now conclude any doctor who gives me that answer is either lazy or incompetent and go around them. My health was getting progressively worse, despite my conditions not being progressive. When I stopped listening to doctors and started doing my own research and listening to my body I have gotten off 8 medication, managed my bipolar without medication for some time (supposedly impossible) and eliminated fibromyalgia (supposedly incurable), reduced nerve pain due to damaged nerves as a result of hyper-mobility (supposedly the nerves can't heal) and more. I've come to the conclusion if I have a broken bone or an infection doctors are useful, otherwise I'm better off not seeing one.
I have learned that as well. They fixed my broken wrist well but the presurgical doc decided my BP was too high. In the office. During a very stressful time. Right after the accident and before major surgery and in the midst of family stresses. Well duh. Then the ekg showed something. So she gave me BP meds which made me feel crap and told me I must get a stress test. That whole scenario gave me fear and stress raising my BP. The stress test showed only normal aging stuff but they were scaring me again because of my BP. Which was high under these circumstances. Then I got palpitations after she raised my meds 4 times in strength that made me feel like shit and forced me to pay so much attention to my heart beat I couldn’t sleep. Then was supposed to take my own pressure and fax to them but every time I put on the cuff my heart raced so not an accurate reading. Ever. I finally said I’m done. Started back walking. Turned off the news. Tightened my keto diet. Did things that gave me joy-even during a pandemic- relaxation techniques and phased off the meds over a time. I’m just fine now. I won’t be back to this doc. I have 2 questions anyway now before I take a new one on-what kind of diet do you recommend? And then the cholesterol one. Statins. That will depend on what I do. B
Agreeing with everything you've written, Serenity Goodwyn! Someone recently confided in us, that his daughter is bipolar. She's had the disorder for a decade, and her disorder has profoundly affected his entire family. Our family and staff went keto, around June, 2019. We did it for the mental clarity (we invest in IT, an industry within which Keto and Fasting have been embraced as a brain-boosting competitive advantage). But, for us, Keto's SURPRISE REWARDS were (on average) losing one-fifth of our weight, feeling thirty years younger, becoming amazingly heat-tolerant, and tremendous MOOD STABILIZATION. So, we've been urging this guy to get his daughter to try Keto for her Bipolar Disorder (so far, our suggestions have not been implemented). Thanks for confirming that Keto CAN be an effective treatment for the condition (a treatment which comes WITHOUT SIDE EFFECTS!!!!). We've been thinking-back, and the individuals within our own extended family who were bipolar, ALL were from corners of the family where sweets/sugar/carbs/"fabulous" desserts were rampant. Do you think that excessive carbs frequently CAUSE what's labeled as 'Bipolar Disorder'?
The good news is you don't need them to be healthy and they can't make you healthy anyway. You only need them when you are very sick or injured otherwise they are pointless.
You've taken responsibility for your health. It's the first step and the most difficult and hardest step to take. Most people will never do that and will do and believe everything their GP tells them. Kudos. Same applies with mental health.
This is mind-blowing stuff, especially at the end of the vid concerning saturated fat. They lied to us. And nobody presents this material as succinctly as Dr. Mason.
I really appreciate Dr Mason. Also appreciate all the comments. I tested positive for Corona virus 3 days ago I'm 62 I have been producing ketones for a year howbeit only slightly first several months , went strict carnivore last 6 months. My point prior I was pre diabetic not diagnosed by doctor but myself. And my symptoms came on suddenly rapid weight gain, ED high blood pressure, skin tags. Doc wanted to put me on Statins. I was aware of keto and refused to be put on drugs mom died of liver cancer and her breakfast was a dinner plate of pills. My dad suffered 10 years of dementia to Alzheimers never once was his diet adjusted. I told my doc I dont want to end up like that. All my above symptoms cleared up. I'm convinced and thank God, I have had 1 full year of my body being made ready to combat this virus. I cannot express the gratitude I feel in my heart to God, and so many such as Paul who have been a constant encouragement in a world of lies. And again all you who have overcame as well. God bless.
Excellent, Jim Jones. Great perspective through credible experience. I also appreciate you mentioning your thankfulness to God, who created us and all the plants and animals.
Thank you Dr. Mason!! This presentation should be sent worldwide to all Medical Schools, Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Doctors/ Specialists. The facts are indisputable, period. Opened my eyes to the hidden ingredients even in my „Keto-Friendly“ food choices like my favourite Almond Milk 🤨 Damn I‘ll have to search for a cleaner option, even my heavy cream with the thickening-emulsifiers 😬 Sure you can say, if you cut out all processed junkfoods, sugar, etc. then a little of these ingredients won‘t harm you, but there‘s where you‘re wrong. I could be one of those patients of Dr. Mason, lost tons of weight and keeping it off after 5 yrs. But somehow, I still have inflamation flare-ups depending on what I consume. And when I‘m really paying attention, it‘s the salad dressing in that take-away salad or the marinade on that uncooked chicken thighs that I cooked myself at home, or indeed the almond milch. It‘s definitely a challenge to completely remove all of these oxidative products, but I‘m up for the challenge - thanks to good people like Dr. Mason 🤓
My mom died at 73 from following her doctor. Statins, high carb, low fat, low salt. I would give anything to wind back the clock find LCHF Keto and save her.
This happened to me. The last time I visited my endocrinologist (I’m a type 1 diabetic) I had been on a low carb diet for almost a year, lost 30 pounds, my blood sugars were vastly improved along with most of my health markers. I did this as a last resort and without my doctor’s knowledge because I was feeling and looking so bad trying to follow the “nutritional advice” she was giving me. At an annual appointment when she started pressing me on what I was eating she stopped in the middle and said to me, “are you on keto?!” In quite a accusatory way, not in a congratulatory way, which would’ve been more appropriate. I was taken aback by that but then again I am not surprised. She always recommended to me to eat whatever I want but just to cover it with insulin, which is just nuts. I can not process carbs, so why the hell should I make them the basis of my diet? Time for a new endocrinologist. Any suggestions on finding a new endocrinologist that advocates for a keto diet?
Yes it is insane isn't it. It is like saying to an alcoholic to keep drinking as much alcohol as they like as long as they drink a lot of water afterwards and sleep it off.
She is probably a vegan whacko, nothing makes then angrier than suggesting a low carb diet. They even go after people who promote fasting like dr fung because there is a chance they will eat a low carb diet lol
Have you come across Dr. Richard Bernstein? He's an MD with Type 1 and is the absolute master of managing type 1 with low carb diet and minimal insulin. He's on UA-cam.
Dr Mason is spot on about skin tags. My husband’s doctor told home exactly that and offered to remove them. Also mentioned there’s nothing can be done to prevent them. After my husband started keto diet, they are gone.
You should let us know where you practice! I would love to find a physician that is open minded and curious enough to keep learning from docs like Dr Mason.
Quick note: ive been low carb/hi fat for 2/3 years .i am 74 and feel great most offten. Anyhow after i was told i was type 2 and high bp,i went home and cleaned out the pantry of all evil food and 4 months later the Dr. Did another blood test, she turned her chair towards me and asked "what did you do"? You see all my sugar numbers were perfect. My simple answer was i stopped feeding my suga,Sugar. Great video i was losing direction and now I'm back on track.
Our stories are similar, I am 63 and 2 yrs Keto. The hardest part was cleaning out the fridge and cabinets of sugars. However the rewards of doing so are amazing... no more inflammation or chronic pain, BP and A1C down to the levels that astonished my Dr. into calling me and asking How did you do this in 7 weeks? I think of myself as a recovering sugar addict. Good health to you!
EVERYBODY PLEASE NOTE !! This is one of the best videos ever, about health. It covers just about every topic and every detail you need to know, to become - and stay - healthy !! I follow the Keto diet quite strictly, and have experienced the benefits personally, so I can vouch for the info in this video.
OMG!!! Paul “you rock!” Just the best visuals supporting explanations on commercially processed Seed Oils and WHY we must remove them from our daily diet. Very satisfying to see this presentation revisited including new slides. Excellent 💫
One thing I was hoping he would mention... but a way to speed up removal of seed oils is Steric Acid... found in red meat and butter... so be sure to stock up on steric acid foods as PUFAs can stay in the body a long time.
Saw the title of this video and immediately thought: "Hell Yes"! I reversed insulin resistance, high blood pressure and high triglycerides by doing the opposite of what my Big Pharma trained doctor told me.
As a longstanding healthcare professional myself I applaud your discussion and blunt discourse regarding what people eat and are toxic to our health! As a nurse who has had a focus on primary health care, it's been a long time coming for a researcher MD like yourself, in order to challenge other MDs and patients/clients, and to open up the paucity/obfuscation of much medical data/research and pharmaceutical papers, resulting in the unnecessary death and level of chronicity in misinformed individuals....in particular, those who consume the plethora of convenient genetically modified CHO foods. Paul, you certainly have my continuing support. Good luck and best wishes....Miriam RN PhD
I think this has got to be the best and most comprehensive argument for trying Keto - it's not a diet, it is just real food with hardly any carbs. After nearly 3 years I can totally vouch for it.
I've experienced this exact scenario. The lack of ability to think for themselves is scary. Present them with any query about risk indicators with lipids and they 'only' harp on elevated LDL. The food pyramid is completely ass backwards. I collapsed, rushed to hospital with very high LDL and blood sugar. Lots of drugs. I refused this plan, hit the weights gym and used a very low carb, lot's of veg and lean meats, increased good fats and within 6 weeks all blood tests spot on. Lost 15kg and now no issues. Every single thing you've said is reality.
Could not agree more Mark! So sad! My story did not get as serious as yours. I just wanted a benchmark going forward and when the results came back a got a call within 24hrs from the GP said I had to rush in now and get a statin script! What? I asked for my results, I looked at them and then asked 'Why?, my HDL and trig ratio is excellent. That means my LDL (yes, high according to the marker) is likely to be good LDL, is it not?.' My GP's reply? 'What, well, it doesn't matter what its made up of, the overall total is high and that's what counts. Besides if a cardiologist saw this they'd be screaming at you to take a statin'. Yep, can you believe it? I told her to not waste the paper writing the script as Im not filling it. The 'establishment' has a lot to answer for. I applaud brave professionals like the Doctors at LCDU and others, who continually get squashed and bombarded with facetious lawsuits to shut them down. Well done to you and go well.
you can switch from lean meats to fatty meats. its the fat in the meats you want - not mainly pure protein. eat the meat as it comes naturally - with all the fat it usually has, those are good fats to eat. too much protein makes your body produce more insulin an the end. just make sure your meat sources are pasture raised - sick animal - sick human. eat healty animals - healthy human. peace.
Mark Lowe ...... harp on LDL. Are you talking about my dr? She wastes my precious 15 minutes “yapping” about cholesterol! When my triglycerides are low. My CACalcium score is zero. Wants me on statin. never. Congratulations on your achievements.
I told my doctor I was on Keto just some months ago and he got quite aggressive and opinionated on what a rubbish diet it was. He tried to put both my wife and I on statins, because of our LDL readings, and I said no, I don't like the side effects. Now that made him blow his top even more. I'm currently looking for a new bulk bill doctor with half a brain. Anyway this presentation just delivers blow after blow of evidence. Don't think Dr Paul Mason will be dragged to court anytime soon by the greedy corporations and their greedy food industry sponsors for trying to kill people. This is the new "Keto Bible"
women should never go on statins (well, okay, no one should, but the only strong correlation between blood lipids and any disease in women is that low cholesterol is correlated with HIGH stroke numbers!) So... yeah, sure, destroy your liver for no gain. What advice!!
As a doctor I find really funny that a doctor getting all angry because a patient foesnt want a treatment. Thats the mpst unethical way to do things especially when you try to give a drug that has bunch of side effects even when you believe it is beneficial which statins are not so it is even more funny
This is a life saving video. There are two groups of people. Those who watched this and understood. The others are either unfortunately didn't watch this or stubbornly stupid to deny this. Thanks so much dr Mason !
"She had no idea how sick she was until she was better." That's me. That's exactly me. I was so very very sick and I had no idea. One person out of three is obese, one person out of three suffers from any particular digestion issue, one person out of three has trouble sleeping, one person out of three has mood issues or stress or anxiety or depression... so many ailments, and each of them has a 1/3 chance of affecting you, so it's totally normal for any single human to suffer from quite a few of them, isn't it? Well it is now because of those absurd dietary guidelines, but it shouldn't be. I accidentally found out when I went keto and all my health issues just vanished. I lost decades of my life to the lies...
This was amazing. I have never seen all these things put together like you just did. I am sort of a keto / fasting - dabbler, but you have totally convinced me. In particular the information about bones was interesting. Almost all the problems of modern medical chronic disease and aging boil down to us willingly ingesting two poisons. I am just glad someone pointed this out to me while I am still relatively young. You are saving lives here.
Don't be a "dabbler", be a doer! I mean!!! Do it till da sun don't shine, do it in da morning time... JUST DO it ALL DA TIME! Give yourself a month and go freaking stringent ultra low carb.. you know what they say... once you go low, you'll never go back! ;)
This was one of the best walkthroughs of facts, covering several different disease topics and studies. Very well documented and I'm really amazed by the hard work that lies behind this and the way you have created a story that for most people is absolutely impossible to dig through. Well done Dr. Paul Mason!
Fanatsic information Paul. Let me tell you one more. A brother of mine visits doctors about once a week, for the last 10 years. Yes he is on 20 tablets a day, about 7 different medications. When I told him most of the medications are a waste of time, money and slowly piosoning him, he relpied, "You're not a doctor". I said "yes you are right, but I know if I am being slowly poisoned, you know nothing on the effects of all those drugs." I caught up with the doctor at church and asked him, doctors need about 3 to 4000 patients to earn a good income. So they keep patients coming by prescribing different medications. The doctor replied I was correct. I am a Material Scientist, Industrial chemist and metallurgist.
You're a Material Scientist, Industrial chemist and metallurgist who can't spell! Just kidding. While we're here Emanuel, as a metallurgist can you tell me, why aren't magnesium alloys used more for things like tripods and bike frames? Mg is cheaper than carbon fibre, lighter than cf, as strong as cf, has damping almost as good as wood, no longer erodes from the inclusion of zirconium and calcium (i think) and it's easily recyclable. So yeah, how come it's not like, the most popular material for modern-day products Emanuel? I'd really like to know. Thanks
And even worse: during their education they are told that almost all health complaints from patients are because of mental problems. Thats why most docters send you home and tell you to wait for a few weeks.
Setting aside my rec to carve Paul into some kind of medical Mount Matildamore, I used the low carb principle for the past three months, while also restricting calories (about 500 calorie deficit) and I have not felt hungry or deprived at all. Apparently, my body (and possibly most others too) can be very satisfied eating 1500 cals of delicious low carb, healthy fats along with another 500 calories worth of my own body stored fats. First time in my life I got fat under control without any serious increase in exercise...obviously exercise is good, but it's nice to know that one can get excess fat under control by low carb diet, with no suffering or sense of deprivation. It was a surprise to me...and I thank Mason and all those associated with the low carb healthy fat movement for sharing so much useful information.
Ha! Mount Matildamore! I went the same route with one meal a day. Bulletproof coffee in the am. Skip lunch High fat zero net carb dinner. Lost 20 lbs. and gained strength and mental acuity over 4 months. I do an extended fast over the coldest week of the year, (snake diet), as I work outside and have time off. Last year I went 4 days before waking up at night ready to kill something. Too bad my friends and family think I'm nuts. Most of them are obese and on meds.
Thanks for this great presentation. 18 months of keto plus daily 18 hour fasting means I’ve reversed my T2 diabetes (a1c now 5.4 without any meds). I just hope I started keto early enough to prevent Alzheimers...
Me also...62 and going carnivore. Have been keto for 2 years but believed I could have olive oil, almond milk etc. Now going full carnivore. How are your lab test?
When I was an undergraduate student (chemistry major), I had classes with lots of pre-med students, and when I was in graduate school I knew a lot of med students. Believe me, it's not hard at all to be smarter and more knowledgeable than most doctors.
They have one hard class to get past, organic chemistry. And they don't even have to take a stat or logic class in premed. They are not any more qualified to read and interpret a study than the receptionist.
@@LTPottengerMy organic Prof said on day one, "2/3 of you will get Ds and Fs." I got an A in three organic courses (97) and completed and practiced chemical engineering. Friends ask me how I am qualified to speak on health and nutrition. I say, because I can read papers, watch lectures like this one and interpret results, not just parrott dogma. I've also lost 37 pounds and 6 meds and my triG/HDL is 0.7. Decades of orange juice, Special K, skim milk, and toast with margarine about killed me until I discovered doctors on UA-cam that didn't follow the dogma.
Prof Tim Noakes and Dr. Gary Fetke have both experienced the wrath of the conventional medical community.. were denied their licence to practice...only to have it repealed a couple of years later (could be wrong on the timeframe).
I recently argued with a Harvard medical professor about keto diets and I’m in complete shock as to how misinformed he was. He said that keto was a fad diet and that saturated fats are the cause of heart attacks (it’s inflammation). Of course since I was not a Harvard trained medical doctor he didn’t accept what I had to say. I think the elite medical community is sadly stuck on stupid. 🤦♂️
Dr Mason, excellent advice with studies to back it up, many times over. What isn't addressed is the "sponsorship" (money donations) to many medical colleges/teaching hospitals by companies which promote all the bad stuff - seed oils and sugar lobbyists, etc. If the school's curriculum doesn't agree with their "standards" they won't "donate" $$ to fund school/hospital programs. Same with many research "studies" they bias to make it sound like their products are "healthy". I wont even go into lobbyists who bribe the US government to promote these BS food pyramids. Doctors can no longer act like they aren't aware of what's going on with these facts. Thanks for all the great info, doing IF and keto and having consistent great results.
Wow....what a great presentation. You are right up there with so many other voices who are pulling the curtain back on medical misinformation that has been guiding so many. Not only will the truth set you free, it will make your life, longer and healthier. Thank you for your determination and diligence in this arena of metabolic health.
I love that Dr Mason used research all though this presentation. I've already shared it on facebook and Twitter. I'll share further, no doubt. What a resource! Thank you
This is/was THE best video I have watched regarding diet and personal health. You are completely amazing, thank you, so olive oil out, butter and lard in. It's like living the 50s/60s all over again. Thank you and yes, we all salute you. I am forwarding a link to my best friend, she too needs this! Thank you.
Same with my doctor, no need for blood pressure meds after just 3 days, lost 77 pounds in my first 6 months. My doctor ask what I was doing because she has never had a patient have that kind of success. When I told her what I was doing, real food keto, no industrial oils, grains, or sugars!! She told me that I need to stop using animal fats and go back to vegetable oils and that I needed to add back the grains!!! Still looking for a new doc.
This is the best, most comprehensive collection /discussion of the current state of the science regarding insulin, refined carbohydrates, fructose, and seed oils that I have seen. It matches my own study of these issues over the past 5 years as I relentlessly search for root cause and solutions to my own metabolic damage. 👏👏👏👏 Finally a scientific discussion beyond my own limited capacity that I can share with friends who suffer similar damage. Absolutely essential for a patient to become “informed,” so that that patient is in a position to give INFORMED consent to the Standard American Doctors’ (SAD) Guideline prescription for their symptoms.
I’d add ignore the fitness and weight training industry nutrition information which focuses on calories and vigorous exercise. Do the opposite. Stop counting calories. Do gentle but regular walking/swimming or whatever movement you can, regularly, at least every other day. Cardio, muscle resistance to failure etc may not be the miracle that they think.
@@jennygibbons1258 There's a study that suggests the intensity and volume of exercise doesn't change you liver fat percentage significantly, unless you're completely sedentary. There were 4 groups of people with fatty livers, high intensity low volume, low intensity high volume, low intensity low volume exercise and no exercise. All groups reduced their liver fat by about the same amount apart from the no exercise group. So yeah, you can pretty much to anything except for sit in a chair 16 hours a day, and your liver will benefit from it.
Hello Doctor. I discovered your Channel this week, I am so delighted how informative and life saving your contents are. I am keto since 4 months due to osteoarthritis. My docteur sent me for xray which i did not do. Since i am keto, my joints pains disappeared ! I do intermittent fasting with keto diet for autophagy. My life changed for the better. I will continue listening to your advices to keep my health. Take care from France 🇫🇷
I have a few dr's for different issues. All of the are incredibly happy with the improvement of my nlood work, the significant weight loss, and improvement of symptoms and encourage me to keep following the ketogenic diet. In fact, the one dr who at first told me he was a fan of keto for short-term but believed it's unsustinable in the long-term was shocked when I told him he was talking to someone who was already 9 months into it. Since then, he has told me I have taught him something new and he is now more open-minded about diet and willing to look more seriously into it. I recommended he start with Dr Ken Berry, Dr Paul Mason and Dr Fung.
I fully agree. I got to a BMI of 30. I walked it off but I felt terrible and then regained it. I started to check my blood glucose. I watched what kept the sugar levels down. I increased the use of saturated fats, I dropped my carb intake for extend periods of time/months/years to 30 grams per day. I used cold exposure as well plus running. Result I feel good, blood pressure is normal and my BMI is between 23 to 25. I also increased my salt intake. I take 10 000 IU vitamin D3 and have for 17 years. It blocks the colds and the flu of the fall, winter and early spring seasons.
I am surprise the main "stream" has not shut you up. I am glad that there are doctors that stand by their principal educating people about health. Thank you!!! it is a big understatement.
This is the most comprehensive explanation of how to achieve good health that I have seen anywhere. Unfortunately, the vast majority of doctors and nutritionists sadly are uninformed and continue with recommendations unsupported by science.
went keto/carnivore and fixed multiple problems I was having, plus losing 31kg/70lbs NO THANKS TO MY DOC!.....Am I smarter than my doc? ....ABSOLUTELY!
@@nickarrizza nah it’s not 👍🏼. You’ve come to the wrong place people here are too educated. TMAO causes glutathione to upregulate much the same as sulphophrane does, they always come up with more reasons meat is bad. They’ve done it for over 100 years and it’s always fake and always changes.

Thank You Dr. Mason. After studying equine nutrition I found that many of the College Level Nutrition Classes for humans was so lacking and now have been looking at the research myself. Your videos have helped me greatly in my endeavors. Since I am not associated with a teaching institute many times it is hard to get the full published research. But I keep at it. Thank You again.
Thank you Dr. Paul Mason and all your colleagues ! Shame to the Medical Doctors who follow the $$$$ trail than care about their patients! Even with knee issues I feel the best since my 50’s!
This is one of the greatest UA-cam channels. Dr. Paul Mason, thank you! 🙏
@@exosproudmamabear558are you sure it's hdl/tg? I always thought it was tg/hdl .
Well done !
🌟For myself I am on a high fat, low(in comparison to previous consumption)carbohydrate diet. After a full check up with my physician, all my blood levels, IR levels and all other markers were perfect, however my cholesterol was 5.2 she prescribed statins (against my protestations & comments) and recommended a high fibre low fat diet...why?🤦🏻
Needless to say I'm avoiding her advice and medication

I stopped arguing with the doctors; I just don't take the medications they prescribe, and don't follow their suggested diet. And each visit, they tell me how great I'm doing, with my lipid panel great, my HgbA1c low, all the other blood tests good, and my blood pressure good. They tell me to keep up taking the same medications, and continue to follow the same diet and exercise routine. Little do they know, that they're suggesting that I don't take any of their advice.
They need to lose your business, find doctor who cares. Maybe ask in local groups on line.
May I ask why do you go then?
But that just reinforces their flawed theory/advice. I’d come clean with them and save all the unused meds to show them to prove your theory/results.
Congrats on your success! Hope all is still well.
Thank you! ❤
Yes, after my doctors led me down the path of weight gain, stroke (TIA), heart stent, type2 diabetes, I finally found Keto diet and reversed type2 eliminated 2 BP meds, and statins, so yes I am smarter!
wow CharlesTait... what a turnaround!! good on ya!
This is really great to hear brother, but at the same time it is heartbreaking.
Good for you!!!! That’s my experience along with many many more!

Professor Banach said: "Low carbohydrate diets might be useful in the short term to lose weight, lower blood pressure, and improve blood glucose control, but our study suggests that in the long-term they are linked with an increased risk of death from any cause, and deaths due to cardiovascular disease, cerebrovascular disease, and cancer.""

Good job Denise, be sure to build muscle though! Smaller size doesn't depict metabolic health
Wonderful story and congratulations on your weight loss. I think it's time to ditch your doctor and find one that's more open minded 😞
I hope you left and never went back. And good job on your own efforts.
Change doctors. I did.
Nah, you're living in the Corporate Ages (with the Most High and Holy Vegan Church to guide your lost soul). Good luck!
You are not BUT the doctors and majority of the population are definitely eating in the dark ages.
Wow, even the Danes. I'm numb to it in America but this is surprising.
My cardiologist is clueless about nutrition and refuses to get continued education about it. Time for another new doctor.
@Frances Caponetto
Congrats Frances! Hope you are still living in the flow. Stories like yours give us all hope.
Well said! Well done on your excellent result!
Did you happen to have loose skin issues? I’m in the process of going from 132 to 78 also And that huge loss has me worried about loose skin.
54 kg lost is very impressive. I lost 7 kg on keto. I want to lose maybe more 4 kg. I just started keto.
Weight loss is great to shrink the suppose, but for true metabolic health (longevity), build muscle through strength training via weights/resistance + cardio 😊 Exercise is found to treat & reverse 26 chronic diseases!!
There are times that I feel smarter than some doctors and certainly smarter than old school nutritionist.
I know I am smarter than doctors... that is why it depresses me that I have to hand my care over to them and that people do not demand better.
Most doctors do not have a clue how food affects human hormones. All they know is what drugs to "try out" on you.
If you're here, you probably are.
Hitting on all the dietary myths in a single video. Great work! I wish I lived in Aussie to thank you in person!!

Grass fed beef
Lots of fish
Eggs
Bacon
Greek yogurt
Some berries
Watermelon
15ml mct oil
I only eat between 2pm and 6pm with the small amount of carbs that I eat being at the end of the eating window, close to 6pm ( I find I sleep better finishing with carbs, max 40g a day though give or take.) to anyone considering going on their own low carb journey I wish you luck!!!
Totally agree. Physicians are only useful in cases of trauma. Everything else, they are ignorant.
God bless.

They even go after people who promote fasting like dr fung because there is a chance they will eat a low carb diet lol
and what if whatever i want is low carb?
Have you come across Dr. Richard Bernstein?
He's an MD with Type 1 and is the absolute master of managing type 1 with low carb diet and minimal insulin. He's on UA-cam.

Thanks Dr Paul Mason, for this epic masterpiece lecture. Everyone please help by like & sharing this.
I am spreading the word on my FB page...great Data ...Thank-you for your efforts. Yes, we have been lied to for 60 years....
Vegetables are junk food. Good fats are in fatty meat. Lean meat with low carb makes no sense. Hope you're at least eating grass-fed butter.
Thankfully if you are not injured and don't have a chronic genetic disease then you don't need out corporatized doctors.
you can switch from lean meats to fatty meats. its the fat in the meats you want - not mainly pure protein. eat the meat as it comes naturally - with all the fat it usually has, those are good fats to eat. too much protein makes your body produce more insulin an the end. just make sure your meat sources are pasture raised - sick animal - sick human. eat healty animals - healthy human.

And it tends to be the same people who have the whole kit and kiboodle. Depression, too.

I said "yes you are right, but I know if I am being slowly poisoned, you know nothing on the effects of all those drugs."
I caught up with the doctor at church and asked him, doctors need about 3 to 4000 patients to earn a good income.
Awesome John!
Ha!
Mount Matildamore!
I went the same route with one meal a day.
Bulletproof coffee in the am.
Skip lunch
High fat zero net carb dinner.
And u are running on stress hormones, depleting ur liver glycogen, ur thyroid is suffering and in long term will bring u back to binging.
In the process right now. Low fat, high fat, with IF…and it is working
That's wonderful! You have given yourself every chance of living a long, healthy life! xx
My mum will only listen to her doctor regarding health so i will try book an appointment with Dr Mason.. This is amazing!!
I'm 72 and on this diet and have never felt better in my life. I'm close to 95 % carnivor.
Me also...62 and going carnivore. Have been keto for 2 years but believed I could have olive oil, almond milk etc. Now going full carnivore. How are your lab test?
@@fishingpinky3165 We you asked him that question a few months ago so i guess we have to assume he's dead. RIP peter.
I’ve watched this TWICE. Each time I take away more knowledge. Thanks Doc !!
correct me if i am wrong but i see a true whistleblower in the medical field talking to us!
Prof Tim Noakes and Dr. Gary Fetke have both experienced the wrath of the conventional medical community.. were denied their licence to practice...only to have it repealed a couple of years later (could be wrong on the timeframe).
ironic he's last name is mason. lol haha. im cool with it. i was starting to run out of hope.
They need it. The only oversight they have is their own guild.
@@balexandras Shawn Baker as well, who recommended patients a dietary change instead of surgery. (He was the surgeon)
Thank you Dr Mason. Nice to see a doctor who is good at health and not just disease.
This is the most powerful info one can have. we have to share and promote !
Wow....what a great presentation. You are right up there with so many other voices who are pulling the curtain back on medical misinformation that has been guiding so many. Not only will the truth set you free, it will make your life, longer and healthier. Thank you for your determination and diligence in this arena of metabolic health.
You have given soooooo much courage and inspiration to explain this info to doctors! Thank you Dr Mason!!!!!
Thank you.
So right .. we get treated for symptoms not causes !! Ive had four gps so far they dont like it if you question them 😤
I have science in hand. Framingham HDL chart etc. they hate it. I can show them 2+2=4 and they will say that i don't know what i'm talking about.
You’re not alone
This is the videos of videos when it comes to challenging the established dogma of modern medicine. A masterpiece
Follow the money a healthy person does not a patient make
Same with my doctor, no need for blood pressure meds after just 3 days, lost 77 pounds in my first 6 months.
The programming kicked in and turn her brain off.
Every Doctor should watch this video!
One of the best presentations yet. Bravo Doc!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge to us Dr Paul.
Basically do the opposite of your Dr’s recommendations to prevent disease and lose weight. 🤯🤬
As sarcastic as that sounds, its actually good advice!
I’ll up you one and say we should do opposite of anything govt run
I’d add ignore the fitness and weight training industry nutrition information which focuses on calories and vigorous exercise. Do the opposite. Stop counting calories. Do gentle but regular walking/swimming or whatever movement you can, regularly, at least every other day. Cardio, muscle resistance to failure etc may not be the miracle that they think.
I had to go against Primary Care, and Dietician they recommended. Doing way better already.
Type 2 Diabetic
Not to mention dental health. Thank you Dr. Mason.
Yes weston a price touches on this subject very well for those interested in looking!
Yes! No more sensitivity or tarter buildup.
If a doctor saw my cholesterol, they would faint. Thank you, Paul!!
This is the first video I've seen where the actual process of how the food is turned into fat has been described in detail. Kudos!
That was me. I didn't know how sick I was until I started getting well on LCHF.
After becoming carnivore & increasing my saturated fats (mostly lots more bacon) my health has improved so much I may never need a doctor again
I have found that, since kicking carbs to the kerb nearly six years ago, I have not visited my GP. I'm 57 now.
Never trust someone that profits from you being and remaining sick.
i had to be very careful with bacon. Just me though... ymmv!
That's been my plan since I turned 55, five years ago. So far so good.
Hope all our Doctors in the Philippines can view this lecture/presentation
🌟Top quality information. Many thanks Dr. Mason.
your talks are so interesting and informative you have the gift of being able to explain complex biological phenomena in such an easy to understand language. Really appreciate your work. Thank you
Thank You Dr.
Best video on these issues yet. Paul is such a good researcher and presenter. Outstanding.
I am keto and lost 64lbs (I’m not sure what that is to Kg?) all I did was intermittent fast and stop eating all processed carbs and carbs in general.
29lbs........64/2.2
Thank you Dr. Paul Mason and all your colleagues ! Shame to the Medical Doctors who follow the $$$$ trail than care about their patients! I am close to 70 years old and have turned my life around, walking 50 plus kilometres a week , lost 55 lbs and am doing intermittent fasting eliminated sugar and processed foods and seed oils! Even with knee issues I feel the best since my 50’s!
I love listening to this doctor. he makes it all sound so simple. Thank you
