The fact the ex falsely accused OP of rape should’ve put her behind bars. Since false accusations are a crime nearly everyone commits
Better yet defamation, and considering the circumstances, they could've been sued for tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars
The fact that they even allowed her to be there when OP confronted them is what always got me about this story.
Unfortunately, that's a double edge sword. If everyone got thrown in jail for false accusations, it would be both good for the perpetrators to be punished and horrible for the real victims who have a chance to lose their case. Remember the courts is not about finding the truth it's about who wins in the end. If a grapest gets a VERY good lawyer, the victim could be in trouble. I still don't know how someone would solve the false accusation conundrum, and it's a shame.

As an SA victim, false allegations are such a slap in the face. It’s like the Jesse Smollet case: You’re taking someone else’s trauma and using it to manipulate other people. Cheating isn’t even nearly as serious as SA

Lying about being raped or sexually assaulted should be considered a sex crime and carry similar penalties to the actual crime itself. Also maybe a registry should be in order similar to the sex offender registry.
And yes it should have to be proved like any other crime in a court of law.
In many jurisdictions it is. However, proving it is just as difficult, if not more difficult, than proving SA. More often than not there is only "he said, she said" and no tangible proof ...
@@brag0001 Incorrect, there is a LOT of proof. The woman just rarely ever is willing to do the examination. There is specific bruising in her 'area' that would only happen if she isn't helping the guy. IE if she is fighting against it this bruising is always present. If you are drugged there is always remnants in the blood. Even a roofie can be detected 12 hours after. Maybe if women weren't so coddled it takes them a day to cry, and for all their female family members to hug them and hold them and then finally get them to a hospital or call the cops DAYS LATER...proof wouldn't be so hard to find eh?
Males have specific bruising if they are SA as well btw. Yes women can SA a guy. The body responds to stimuli regardless of your wants. The problem is too many courts refuse to even believe a guy can be SA. Even with overwhelming proof (bruising, drugs in system, witnesses, VIDEO) the chances of a woman being charged with SA is still damn low. It is really pathetic and sad.
A false charge of SA, on social media or in court, should bring double the charge of actual SA. Why? Easy...a false SA claim is malicious and intentional act to ruin someone's life. If you say someone committed SA and there is no criminal charge, jail time should be required. Not even an option...the judge (including the 9th circuit schmucks) should be FORCED to give them jail time. No bail, no parole, they are forced to serve the whole sentence.
This alone would destroy the MeToo movement. PI's from all over were paid to investigate a LOT of claims on those websites. LESS than 10% of them were found to have any proof at all. Meaning the other 90% need to be thrown in jail.

Story 1: F-ing Amazing, I’m not mad at Ops brother but the parents are the literal worse. They abandoned Op, kicked him out with no financial support or emotional support for decades and only now when Op asked why they didn’t believe Op and immediately believed the pathological lier, all they got to basically say is “it was in the heat of the moment and we didn’t know what to do.” They do know what to do, but were just blinded by animosity and believing a women who’s dating 3 different men at the same time.

False SA allegations are the worse. It makes people watered down the severity of this crime and actual victims of SA are already unlikely to report, these cases will make it even more unlikely for them to report in fear that the people think it's fake.
I genuinely think OP and his brother could rebuild their relationship. His brother is the only one who hasn’t failed OP at all. His brother clearly cared for him and I don’t believe he believed the accusations either.
Someone making a false SA allegation literally destroys the accused person's life, which is itself a form of assault. If it is proven that it was a false allegation, the perpetrator should be prosecuted for assault and face the same or similar consequences, including prison conviction and being added to the sex offender registry.
But because we know that will never happen, a new registry to track false accuser should be developed to deter false accusations and prevent accusations from being weaponized, just as the SO registry helps deter SA.
Of course, the FA registry will have to have safe guards to prevent it from being used against real victims. It will have to be proven that the accusations were false. But could go a long way to curtailing FA, especially those that have a habit of making FA against multiple different people.

Story 1: I’d personally file a complaint, press charges, and sue her for emotional distress and take her for everything she doesn’t have.
I think OP should have told his dad that he would only talk about reconciliation if his dad cleared his name to family and friends. the reason I think this is because if he ends up wanting to reconcile it would mean the possibility of hear things from other people who don't know the truth and if they don't reconcile his dad now knows where he lives and that could cause problems. I think people should know he's innocent either way so that there's no risk of them trying to implode his life again. His ex should be arrested for falsely accusing him/defamation especially since it ruined his life so thoroughly that he got disowned and had to move across the world to get away.

He obviously doesn't trust his family, but there's also the Statute of Limitations. If it's been long enough he can't accuse her of anything. Plus he lives in another country, and all the hassle of court plus having to deal with his job and what not in another part of the world. Not something many would find feasible.
