Some people are delusional, they think they will be the one to change someone, to save them, or that they are 'fated' to be together. I say once a cheater, always a cheater. If he can leave the country and abandon his own son, then being a 'father' for someone else's son is tenuous at best.

So the co-worker has a kid around the same age as her son. And James started acting wierd some time into her pregnancy. Doesn't that seem like James cheated then already and that it could be his son? If the kid is a little younger as op son than that could be possible or not. I feel so bad for what happened to the OP, and her family are even worse than the ex in-laws and "James". None of them deserve anything from the OP, and her own family lying over money proves that they are beyond scum. It doesn't matter they got anything, rather it was the fact they even sold her out on a promise. She had every right to record every word. I am so very glad she got custody, and the in-laws and "James" going to prison was more than justified. But knowing that the in-laws and OP's family ALL went to jail is so satisfying.. but "James" getting to "live in Europe", where some countries are much harder on men like him, is hysterical.

To be honest situations like this is why I think there should be a law regarding false accusations for serious matters. like rape and all that stuff. because like with op here it almost completely ruined his life! also the family should have considered what would have happened if he killed himself or something like that? what would they have done? track down his grave and just became grieving?
also I understand you can be emotional sometimes but it's important to hear all sides of a story in order to come to a logical conclusion. personally I think his ex should be thrown into prison for as many years as he was kicked out of the family. and the family forced to pay him a Titanic amount of fees.
but on the bright side he now has a loving family who actually cares about him. and I think he was in the right to show the pictures of his loving family to the ones who abandoned him. showing what they could have had if they had just taken 10 seconds to listen to him.
in the end they reaped what they soed.

Her husband on the other hand is downright disgusting, and devious. He basically used his own kid as a weapon against Ops parents and Op, “if you don’t lie for me, I’ll make it that you’ll never see your grand child again.” He’s a 5/5 for me, but I’m glad Op got out of that relationship and cut her parents off considering they can’t be trusted for what they’ve done.

😅 i don't want to be that person but that's not how the law or custody works. In most states and countries you would need to have a reevaluation done. Second she attacked someone in front of children with a room full of witnesses. That single episode would be enough evidence in court. Third most court hate the idea of overturning rulings unless the person in question did something criminal of that violated the original ruling.

Oh, so you're facing the consequences of your actions, and rather than admit you were wrong, you chose to pin the blame on the family member you betrayed? Cry me a freaking river. (That was sarcasm, if you could not tell)
Honestly, the rotten apple did not fall far from the tree, and I can easily tell where the ex-husband learned to be so manipulative. The thing that irks me is how the ex's family more or less got away with backstabbing OP and her family. Yeah, the family aren't saints and karma did hit them hard for their betrayal, but the ex and his family pretty much got what they wanted. Sure, the ex served time, but he is now married with his AP and has a child, while the in-laws who made that false promise were not even investigated for perjury, since there was no concrete evidence to implicate them (word of mouth cannot be used as evidence in the court of law). For OP's sake, I hope all these awful human beings never return to torment her.

You lnow i used to think these stories were complete bullshit, but honestly after being married to a bipolar woman, who held our marriage over my head everytime I wanted to smoke a little Doobie or lit up a smoke. Saying shit like what a good husband should do and what a good husband would say instead of what i would do or say. Her parents didn't like me, but their religion doesn't allow divorce, but still punished their daughter for marrying, in their words, a nonbeliever. Imagine your parents treating you differently for who you marry, but not allowing a divorce. It still happened. Her parents religion, whoch she didn't practice in good faith when we were dating, tore us apart. I wasn't going to change myself for them, not to please them. I was willing to play nice for her, but that wasn't enough. Bad Christians. You can't bully anyone into believing in God. Hell I was even Catholic. I knew God was real and Jesus died for all man's sin. But because I wasn't a Baptist, I didn't truly know God. What a load of crap.

Honestly, I completely don't believe this story. Either it's completely made up or the op lives in a strange world. The only way that the court would give the father full custody would be if he had proof of her problems and the judge believed it, which isn't easy. At best, she would have had to have an evaluation for the anger issues.
One reason I don't believe the story is because of the fact that she apparently had visitation righrs, but never reported that he wasn't allowing them. Unless he had SOLE custody, he doesn't have the power to deny the court ordered visitation without the risk of being held contempt of court. I doubt op would have missed the chance to get him arrested for it.

A lot depends on the venue. If it was heard in a small, rural county where OP's ex's church was influential, it was all done and dusted at once; no judge fearing re-election would make any other decision.

My issue(s) with this story- I always call BS when there is an outside lock on a inside bedroom or bathroom. It makes no sense to me and what a safety concern! Good story but the dad locking his daughter inside her bedroom is ludicrous. My other issue, not one member of her family had any sense of a moral backbone? A little bit of a stretch for me. Still a very enjoyable story!

So like, I am 100% all for traditional marriages were the husband is sole breadwinner. I have several friends who live like that and see how it can work. 1 thing they all have in common is that the neither side tries to compare which one has a harder job. They all understand each one has stuff they have to get done. It annoys me when couples compare who brings more, thats not acting like a partner thats just fishing for reasons to dislike your spouse.
