Another update: it is not discontinued. Readily available on the EL website. It’s either called Super EDP or Pure Fragrance Spray (renamed).

It hasn’t been discontinued, but just reformulated. The reformulated fragrance is nowhere near the original. I have a bottle of the original fragrance in the pineapple bottle. I sprayed ir on yesterday and I could still smell it on me over 12 hours later, and even the next morning. The reformulated fragrance fades in no time. It’s weaker than its original. Estée Lauder have made a big mistake with this, in my opinion.

Just in case anyone is interested, I forgot to mention that this indeed contains real tree moss (Evernia Furfuracea) in the notes. Tree moss is used as a replacement for oakmoss due to new regulations restricting the use of some natural materials in perfumery.

This is why a lot of fragrances have been reformulated by perfume houses. Estée Lauder, Lancôme, Guerlain, to name a few. Some do stipulate that their fragrances have had to change slightly due to new regulations within the perfume industry. Others like EL, don’t bother letting their customers know, and try and dupe them into believing that the new reformulated fragrances are the same as they have always been, when we know that’s not the case at all.

@@lawgirl2007 I agree. Brands have never been very forthcoming when it comes to reformulations. I don’t think all reformulations are bad, by no means, but I hate when a fragrance doesn’t smell the same anymore.

Estee is a beautiful fragrance. For some reason, I don’t care for Beautiful. Thanks for watching!🙂

Here I am again….popping up in unexpected places. 😊
I love older fragrances from E.L! I’m interested in trying this and Azuree. Loving Cinnabar.

Welcome back! Estée is your typical 60s/70s floral, not similar to Chanel No.5 even though so many claim they’re similar. I think I smell a bit of Anais Anais in there. Azurée, on the other hand, is very unique, probably a bit too unique for me. It’s a strong green leathery scent, very bold and unforgiving. Think Cabochard, Miss Dior the original. Are you by any chance familiar with Private Collection and Aliage? I smelt them all at the EL counter. Cinnabar is on my wishlist.

What would you say, does $60 for a bottle of Cinnabar seem like a reasonable price? New version.

@@lukeparfums The price of a 1.7 oz (50ml) on FragranceNet is $87.74 so $60 is a good deal!

@@lukeparfums I’m not sure strong, green and leathery would work, but you never know until you smell these older fragrances.
