Awe I have such a special memory of Estée! A college boyfriend of mine had a beautiful Mom who wore this. She taught me what it meant to love your self enough to not accept bad behavior from a boy friend. She was a powerful yet classy lady who was successful in business and her faith. Poor woman now has advanced breast cancer and is struggling. If yall ready this, pray for Penny. She never ever wore any other fragrance her entire life!!

Would really like to give CinnaBar And Estee a try . I currently own large bottles of White Linen ,Beautiful ,Pleasures,Pleasures Intense& most recently a Bottle of Knowing. Really happy with the purchase of “ Knowing” Want to buy a Bottle of Estee ‘s Sensuous . Won’t get Youth Dew or Spellbound I don’t think . Have you got a new bottle of Lancome Poeme and Tresor Yet ?? I have had Tresor for awhile now and Poeme is very new to my Collection . Great video . Loved learning about EStee Perfume . This is one that my step mother used to wear, it was her signature fragrance (she doesn't wear perfume now). I remember I didn't used to like it as a teenager, perhaps because she would over spray and then get in the car with me 😂 but retrying it more recently, I actually thought it was such a striking and beautiful fragrance! I was stunned that that memory of the feeling of being choked had been so easily forgiven 😂

I've not tried the original, only the remastered Frederic Malle version and only once at the same time as two others so I don't particularly remember which was which 😂 I do like LOTV and honey though. 🙂

To me it smells like unlit insence and candle wax, making me think about the physical and spiritual cleanliness of the catholic church, although I'm not religious. Very comforting! 💖💖💖

OMG, you mentioned Chloe Narcisse! That was one of my high school perfumes, aside from Poison. Still haven't been able to use Knowing, but still, am looking for a time I would. Over the top florals are not usually my cup of tea but I have/had a few of them which I love. I have Alien, had Poison, Tendre Poison, and So Scandal (though that was a fruity floral). This seems so interesting. Oh I love what you said about being true to yourself. I so agree!

I just blind bought this perfume on sale and I absolutely love it. Especially when it sits on the skin for a while and the more comforting spicy-sweet side comes out. It reminds me of Christmas time. Thank you for creating these reviews I love all of your videos !

Hi Luke! You read my mind on this one! I was just thinking about purchasing a bottle of Youth Dew in preparation for the fall. Since I’ve been absolutely loving Tabu by Dana, I thought it would be a good next perfume. I heard that if you like one you’ll probably like the other. Now with your video I’m sold! I agree it would be a marvelous bedtime scent. Also rant on! I love it and agree with every word you said. I have a question: Esteé Lauder came out with a vintage replica bottle of the original Youth Dew from the 1950s a few years ago. I was wondering if I should get that bottle or the newer style. Which one do you like better? Thank you! 🥰❤️

Hi Luke! I first fell in love with Youth Dew at the age of 22. I still love it. I always wore the bath oil originally. I only tried the perfume a year ago. 😮 I realize there has been a perfume reformulation, but personally, I don’t believe that that the bath oil has been touched! It still smells exactly the same as it always has. And I’m grateful. ☺️ I always love the history element. It’s what makes your channel a cut above the rest. Anyone can read the notes off Fragrantica. The original and current note comparisons, your personal experiences, and the perfume history are what makes you unique. It always such a pleasure watching. Lovely review. I don’t recall anymore what Youth Dew smells like. I remember thinking when I first discovered Annick Goutal perfumes in Paris, how much their bottles appeared inspired by the EL Youth Dew bottle. The fluted bottle with the cinched in middle and the gold leather now is so iconic.

I still remember the bottle of Youth Dew sitting on my mother's dresser. It smelled good on her, but I have never worn it myself. I'm tempted to buy some so glad to hear it hasn't been ruined over the years. 😊 Thanks for explaining the history of this!

I have yet to smell Youth Dew, but I did just get some small sized bottles of perfume, one of which was Cinnabar. I do like that. Youth Dew is on my list to find and try...but my old signature scent does have oak moss, which I like in the mix.

Hi Luke. 🙂 I own a bottle of Youth Dew that I bought on Notino. I really like the smell of it and I wear it in the wintertime. I totally agree with you it does not smell old or vintage at all. It’s got a bit of a Coca Cola smell in my opinion. The dry down is where it’s at, it’s beautiful. And I do like the bottle as well it’s gorgeous. ☺️

I love Spicy Ambers so I feel like it would be right up my alley. I also have always found the bottle so stunning and elegant, I can imagine how special it has made people feel throughout history.

I don't think I've found a SG fragrance that has been for me so far, but I'm not sure I've smelt this one, so I will go try it when I'm next in store if it's out. I do quite like Poison in a one spray only kind of way. 😊

Hello Luke. I just watched your video of Cinnabar and I will try it again to reminde me the of this forgotten scent. This one I also haven't smelled for ages and I have totally forgotten of this masterpiece. Estée Lauder perfumes are truly well reformulated, in my opinion. The funny is I used this one back in the 90s and my olfactive memory is totally gone. Next month probably I will be traveling and I always take that opportunity to sniff a lot of perfumes in the airports. This one I really want to try! Usually I'm very hard to convince regarding scents but your description totally grabed me and make me wanted to buy it without retrying it. Yes, scents are for us but for our loved ones we chose not to wear them in certain circumstances. I adore Shalimar but my husband don't like it and in the days we are traveling by car or spend the whole day together I avoid using it. For love. In work some collegues complained about it because that I wore it all week... a big hug my dear. I'll let you know my thoughts about it. Expect something near in the future of Sophia... 😉

I will forever love scents with spices, ambers, resins. You know I adore Opium and if it's in the same category I must try it because current Opium is just not the same. I wish my body loved Spellbound because my nose certainly dose. So many fond memories of others wearing Spellbound from the 90's! I did wear it to a music festival back in the day and it made me nauseous. I keep a vintage bottle just to smell once and again. Thx for the review- and the rant! I feel about Blue Grass how you feel about Spell Bound. I wear it but careful to not do so around Mother:)

Hey Luke , I would like to buy all the vintage fragrances you are talking about. I have never tried Spellbound. Wear your fragrances of course with respect to the others. In my opinion you didn't need more than 2 sprays from such fragrances. I have tried Cabotene from a forgotten sample I had. To be honest I would not have tried it if I hadn't watched your video. I was really surprised. I put it on and it was so nice. Thanks because you 've changed the way I perceived and understood this fragrance. Love from Chania, Hellas.

I always watch your videos to find vintage perfumes I might have missed...and there are quite a few. I will have to check my miniatures to see if I have this one. I'm in the process of moving, so once that task is over, I will check and see.

Yes, I know this fragrance. I have the original and the new formulation, and due to its spicy, comforting nature, I like the previous version better. The newer version is good, but it made me long for the dark, spicy amber I once knew, and I had to find it.

Aprikot, peach & Sandalwood - this is her , the Big Lady Sophia Grojsman ♥️ and i Adore her creations. My First one was Tresor the original one , and step by step the other ones Calvin Klein , Volupte, Vanderbild, Spellbound etc. The last one smells to me like Casmir Chopard + Trésor original EDP + 100kg Spicy and Sweet Carnation flowers. For autumn a nice and cozy Fragrance. The Cinnabar it’s the lightly Version of Opium YSL, Love them to 👋

Hi Luke😊 Great rant!😂 If I know that someone important to me (like family) really doesn’t like a fragrance, I probably won’t wear it in their presence. A coworker with COPD and emphysema had a really bad physical reaction to my Frankincense and Myrrh oil. We had different days off. So I could wear it, without worry, on her days off😊 And really tone it down on shared days. Only one drop under my hair on the back of my neck. I could smell it, but it didn’t project. If the individual is just an unhappy person who complains about everything, I’ll wear it anyway. 🤭😂 I don’t own this particular EL perfume. I’m not sure about it. It’s almost impossible to sample first. One of these days, I will try it. Another lovely review of a scent with such a lovely name. Thank you. 😊

I found a small amount, possibly 5 mls, in a vintage bottle which I just bought on ebay for not too much. Looking forward to taking a trip down memory lane when it arrives!! 😁👌Xx
