This was SO helpful! I got a 1000hp clutch and flywheel installed and right after was getting the p300 + random cylinders like 4 and 6. I couldn't figure it out, I thought for SURE it was something the shop did, had them replace the tone ring, the sensor, plugs and reset the crank position sensor so many many times. I was in and out of this shop from end of July to mid November of 22 and had to put the car away still giving me the code. Now I'm truly beginning to think it's either my coil packs or the imrc runners. I feel like it could just be horrible timing that this started to happen right after the clutch installation and actually has nothing to do with it, still not positive tho. I'm going to order a new ported 18 manifold and coils and cross my fingers that it solves the issue bc I'm seriously out of ideas and considering taking the wiring harness apart to make sure all the wires are still good. Just was so weird this problem identical to what your describing happened right after I get my new clutch, flywheel, steel braided lines, short shifter installed. I went on a 28 hour road trip before the install and the car worked beautifully that's why I was so convinced it had to be something with the install. Thanks for the video and explaining it quite well.
Hey brother, I’m on the same boat with you, installed mantic 9000 kit from American muscle and literally right after the install the misfire check engine popped out. Kinda stuck atm idk what to do. My gt has a roush p2 tho. Did u fix the misfire? Also was the problem with the clutch? Please I need an update!
@@MantixTheTungsten Now again be careful and be positive that your misfire isn't actually causing anything the happen when the CEL comes on, meaning you've got the same "ghost" misfire I've got caused from lightening up the flywheel so much. If u buy the tune from Wengerd which I recommend bc its worth not having to deal with this massive headache and a lot cheaper then buying and installing a new clutch n flywheel, you'll spend about 300 for the RTD+ and 300 for the tune roughly. Now that you've got him as a tuner let him know that you've got the same issue as me, which me and him are working on it together right now to solve it, but since he sent me the last tune 2 weeks ago I haven't had a single issue and no CEL, and I used to get them at least 3 times a week, so it very well might be solved. But idk how he tuned it but he's very good, not to mention my car picked up a lot of response and hp/tq over the "Big guy" tuners. Anyway it sounds like an add for him but I'm just so grateful after a year of replacing every single part that could possibly cause a misfire down to my battery which my oe one was fine. If the idle was rough after you changed the sparkplugs, pull them out and check the gap of all the plugs again. I placed new plugs in my 5.4 and one was bent while putting it in the cylinder. Once I pulled them out and verified the car ran fine. As for the check engine light... good luck!
If the idle is rough then it's a vacuum leak, check all your hoses, you've got a leak somewhere and the engine isn't getting the amount of air it thinks it's getting.
I have a similar issue but I have a roush supercharger so diagnosis is going to be harder. It seems to have a vacuum leak because when I rev up to 2500 it takes a few seconds to come back to idle sometimes, plus has a slight engine surge at light cruise speeds.
I found the spark plugs needed gapped again. I changed them and gapped them all properly. Don't let them drop down when installing them or the gap can close.
I got the p0300 code but car was running fine. Reset code has not returned been 2k miles. Mode 6 shows low misfires on all cylinders....no pending codes 2019 GT. with only 16k. Time will tell I guess! 😊
that problem only happens in idle? because my mustang gt shakes the engine a little when it is stopped. the car does not register any fault, it does not light any warning light. which problem could be?
