Have to agree, Mike at Revolution definitely went above and beyond talking to us and giving us guidance when we were stuck. Glad it's all back together and running like it should!! Also agree that JK (John) is definitely a class act and wouldn't be afraid to have him work on anything I own.
Also glad it wasn't in the garage a couple of days ago, although red and yellow do look good together. ;-)

I'm having the same issue (p0302) and running ngk plugs as well. Going back to revaluate the issue and see if your suggestions will do the trick. Thanks!

Great video! I have the same exact issue on my 2016 GT with a Roush, Long Tube Headers, Cat delete with a VMP tune. I started having the problem a little after I changed my plugs. I went with NGK 6509 and I bet I definitely need one step colder with the 6510. I am going first thing in the AM to get a set and will try. I also have the nGauge in the dash. I should be able to do the KAM and Crank relearn using that. I will let you know.

I’ve been having the same problem with my 2015 Mustang V6 supercharged with shorty headers and a few other mods and I blew my old engine and just installed the new one and still keep getting misfire on cylinder 1 and cylinder 5. Switched fuel injectors and coil packs and stayed in same place.
When I did install the new engine I didn’t do a crank relearn and maybe with that it’ll help out what the problem and issue is. This was a great video and hopefully it fixes my problems too.

Hey buddy located here in chambersburg pa, have same issues with my 2012, had Calimer stage 1 transmission done, car is overheating, so I upgraded the fan, have that bammer tune on, comes up cylinder misfire, guy that is working on it says I need a short block from gen 2, don’t want to give up, need to get one of those scan tools, for system relearn for neutral position sensor or whatever for crank position sensor, what do you think

    • @Driven2Compete

Any shop worth anything will have a professional scan tool that can complete the steps I identify in my video. Don't go buying anything until you atleast try what worked for me. I was told I needed a new block by a shop too.

I bought and installed a new set of NGK LTR7IX-11 with stock number 6510. Gapped at .026. I also did a keyed on memory or keepalive memory reset, then immediately following with a crank relearn.

Have you or any of your subscribers gone with a lighter flywheel and/or clutch assembly by chance? I’ve heard several Coyote and Boss 302 Road Runner owners that used a lighter flywheel, like 10 pounds lighter, where they could not get rid of misfire codes even after the neutral crank profile Relearn had been done using Ford’s IDS tool several times. Being a retired Ford engine calibrator, changing the weight of the flywheel affecting inertia will interrupt the instantaneous accelerations from combustion the misfire feature uses and that the original Ford engineer calibrator used. The real resolution would be to completely re-calibrate misfire using the lighter flywheel which I’m sure tuners won’t do since it takes weeks and months of extensive testing under many environmental conditions. If you change the inertia weight that’s connected to the crankshaft you totally disrupt the original misfire calibration - where crank relearn may not solve it. Have your misfires come back by chance after your last crank relearn, assuming you have a lighter flywheel/clutch assy?

I have my personal experience along with people I know who's cars I worked on that I feel gives me enough experience to respond to your questions. What I have found is that bone stock coyote powered mustangs have some misfire counts stored in memory when I pull codes and scan using my scan tool. They just aren't enough to throw a misfire code. My personal car has an aluminum flywheel and I still have a low number of misfires stored in memory. A car I recently worked on was modified with a stock steel flywheel and there were a small number of misfires stored in his computer. Through research, I've read that long tube Headers have been identified as a potential cause of false misfires in coyotes. My personal car also has long tubes. My misfire counts went down after gapping down my plugs, wiping my key on memory, and completing a crank re-learn. Since that corrective action, I have not thrown a misfire code. I do think there will always be a small number of misfires logged or stored in a coyote. Are they false created by a modification or real? I don't know if anyone can for sure answer that.

Just for the heck of it pull the plug in cylinder number eight and stick a borescope down there and look at the condition of the piston my car only has 10,000 miles on it TwinTurbo 11 psi and the piston was wasted the number eight cylinder has a lot of issues in this car many piston failures. Just my two cents.
